I own a LG- LW2516ER= 24.5k BTU unit. As long as the ambient temperature is below 108 degrees it operates as well as can be expected. However any temperature above 108 the compressor shuts off and the read out panel shows a code: CH 34. This code indicates high heat in the compressor, in other words the thermal overload switch shuts off the compressor. Testing of this unit needless to say was never performed in the southwest desert.
Much narrative about how well they cool and the square foot coverage. I bought into the performance claim and purchased this unit because of it’s size. My mobile is only 650 sqft and the unit is said to cool nearly 1500 sqft. Great more then double my space.
I think the engineers need to review their testing standards as well their design specifications for this unit. The service representative read the trouble shooting solutions to me and the units location and sun protection is all good. But. But it says high temperatures could be the cause for the CH34 code read out. In order to find this out you need to call for an explanation for this particular code. So $675.00 later I find I’m stuck with a unit that can’t perform as ADVERTISED.
I say that because I have a bedroom unit, LG- LT1016CER= 9800k BTU. This unit operates perfect . It discharges the warm air from across the coil into my vented garage area where the temperature reaches 114 degrees in the heat of the day. Being on the west side of the home also adds to the high temperatureI need to reset that unit every hour from 1pm-7pm when the temperature exceeds 108 degrees.

I had he Frigidaire for 4 years, and after a year it started leaking water inside, and I had to take apart the whole unit to clear out the bottom and tubes,. This worked once and just last month it was working fine for a few months in hot weather, than in one minutes time it was spewing water back wards into my apt. For reliable I would go with the LG, as I am getting when I move this month.

As far as i know, the LG LW8015ER is energy efficient and powerful, and it can cool a good-sized room of up to about 340 square feet quickly. It is great for humid climates since it removes more moisture from the air than other units we evaluated... Thanks for the video man !
