What bothers me on my 6000 BTU AC is the vents where the air comes out,no matter how you adjust them the air goes straight,I want it to go to the right some but it won’t,any ideas?

what you really need to do is dis regard this whole video, find a quality made vintage unit from the 80s or before and it will work better and last a lifetime if taken care of properly.

DO. NOT. BUY. ANY. UNIT. LESS. THAN. 10K BTU. PERIOD. They are a joke. They MIGHT cool a closet. This is a great video (especially mentioning the many factors that might come into play offsetting any units' labeled capabilities i.e. direct sunlight, doors, etc. Personally, I would pay particular attention to HOME INSULATION or lack thereof). When buying take this to heart: A unit will advertise it's maximum sq footage on the box. Lets say a unit will "IDEALLY" cool a 500 sq ft room...

Wrong! I guess you weren't listening to this video. You don't need a 10K A/C for a smaller room. It will actually work against you. There are simple guidelines for the correct BTU A/C unit per square foot. Example: 5K BTU unit will usually cool 150 square feet. Personally, for even the smallest room I like 6K BTU units myself. Digital controls are better then the old analog/dial ones.

I swear. Are any of you commenters even pros? Look a window unit is just that it's going to run all the time when it is very hot and humid. Im sure a 5k for a 20x20 room in Colorado would be fine. But in Texas it would just keep a bathroom cool. Get over it $89 isnt going to cool your room or home when its above 90* and 80% humidity.

...(cont from below). This means the unit would have to run at maximum cooling 24/7 (practically) to keep a room that size cool. If your room is 500 sq ft and you buy an ac that says it will do 500 sq ft then congrats...you've just purchased an energy hog! buy something that will do WELL ABOVE what you THINK you need (for a 500 sq ft room i'd buy a unit that cools UP TO 900 sq ft). It will run less and use less energy. Again, under IDEAL conditions.

Thanks for telling me all about how you do your tests and telling me nothing about your results.
