    Avoid "sears home improvement" when looking for someone to install hvac unit. they hooked the whole unit onto a "single 30" breaker and I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working right, it ran constantly, froze up if we set it below 79. they even came 2 more times and said "it was working fine and that it is a new energy efficient unit so it only goes about 10 under out side temp" (it was 90-100 those weeks), then billed me each time with no work done. Finally I called a real electrician, they fixed it put the system on "2 DOUBLE 30" fuses, they fixed the Freon (or what ever they use now) then it stopped freezing and it worked.

      Sears sucks in every department + they are way overpriced. I got 4 estimates/bids for my house HVAC and Sears was the most expensive estimate and the 2nd highest estimate was 50% cheaper than Sears. No wonder sears is going out of business. Sears is the next circuit city or Montgomery Ward.

    what you really need to do is dis regard this whole video, find a quality made vintage unit from the 80s or before and it will work better and last a lifetime if taken care of properly.

    What is the best unit to buy for a bed room easy to install...

    Window AC: the video does not show someone vacuuming the "coils and fins." They are vacuuming the grille where the cold air comes out, which does not get clogged. The fins are behind the lower intake grille behind the filter (cold side) and outside at the back (hot side).

    I need to purchase the noisiest AC unit to keep a constant noise for sleeping, Apartment is wall to an elevator. Any suggestions ? A 10-12 btu will do.

      Magda Arroyo get a 10000 btu they don’t make noisy ac units anymore just get a box fan with it that will drown out the noise

    i dont understand why a window unit is far better than a portable unit.
    The portable unit still carries the air outside. How come there's such a big difference?

    • @JOEYEMANUEL1717
      @JOEYEMANUEL1717 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      they now make them that they don't need to carry air outside and they are self contained

      An air conditioner is an engine the moves heat from one place to another. The heat has to go somewhere.
      Window units use air from the outside to cool the condenser coils, and push it outside. Outside to outside.
      Single tube portables suck the air you just cooled with the evaporator, outside. This creates negative pressure, meaning the room is going to be sucking air in from somewhere else. Double whammy of wastefulness. It isn't that they can't cool the room in some cases, it's that they are much more inefficient doing so.

      "they now make them that they don't need to carry air outside and they are self contained"
      No, I assure you they haven't made a unit that violates the laws of thermodynamics.
