Authored by Joseph A. McCullough with Osprey Games, it's a rules system to un-die for.

Love Frostgrave! Been playing since 1st Ed and it's a fantastic way to use the Warhammer Underworlds or Warcry warbands. the official kits are also quite nice! Although the scale is smaller than GW or similar lines.

If like this you'll like an old game called earthdawn. They had an expansion called Parlainth. Pritty much the same. Came out decades ago. Sounds a great RPG. Love the review.
Frostgrave/Stargrave line of miniatures are pretty cool - old school look and plastics have a lot of options.
Reminds me a bit of LOTR battle companies which is mostly objective based missions in a longer campaign.
Frostgrave is one of my favorite games of the last 5 years. I have all the books, cards, and minis. Highly recommended.
It's really a Skirmish Wargame like a shorter AoS (really a modern Morheim), not really an RPG at all.
These days it would be more like Warcry, GW's current fantasy skirmish game. But there are some RPG like elements if you play with a regular group of people and use the rules to level up your characters and expand their base of operations between battles.

I use an old Britonia Lady on Foot model for my wizard.

Sounds very very similar to Mordheim
My group and I use it as a substitute for Mordheim with far more campaigns.

Got the first ed download when it came out for free. Still don't know if it's worth the extra to buy second ed, given that I never get to play.
Rangers of shadow deep is a similar and compatible game by the same author, except that it is solo against the scenarios in the book. I really enjoyed it and I have played it cooperatively with friends as well. You can use those rules but apply them to Frostgrave. Stargrave has solo rules and I believe those solo stargrave rules are a free download.
Nice read but frostgrave is not an RPG like DnD or Call of Cthulhu but rather a skirmish wargame like warcry :)
