Yief There isn’t a delay or lag between audio and video but the only way to adjust the sound is to adjust it through the settings on the PS4. If you put the adapter into talk mode it greatly increases the volume on the airpods as well.
I used an adapter meant for my switch! It comes with a USB c to USB adapter for the dock. I plugged that in and it works! No latency. Not the full volume though but it's enough for me.
Got the Avantree leaf !! But I'm a little bit pissed cause the volume of my airpods 2 is cut buy half ! Even when I put the volume at max !! I cant hear much 😔
This was a helpful video, the dongle acts like the OEM PS4 Earpiece that has the mic on and off switch, except Avantree calls it the Music/Talk Mode toggle or switch, basically to talk switch it to talk mode, and to listen only without the mic picking up any sound switch it back to Music mode, thanks for the video man

works pretty decent actually i just didn’t realize u gotta really jam it in your ps4, HUGE side note tho is that idk if i can get passed this crinkling noise in the background it is very annoying and noticeable sometimes there is large cutouts and feedback

Are there different sound qualities between call mode and normal mode? I'm curious how the sound quality compared with on a phone. Sorry to ask everything lol
김민규 I do notice a slight bit of white noise while in talk mode. I don’t notice any white noise while in normal mode but it may differ depending on which type of headphones are being used.
Just to follow up, I have now connected my AirPod pro’s to my PS4 and its working a treat. To all those people saying the volume is too low, I don’t get it? If you press the PS button on your controller whilst playing a game it will bring the volume control menu up, and you can adjust from there. I have mine at about a third of the way across and even that I find a bit too loud. Maybe you didn’t follow this man’s instructions properly? Try again I’d say 👍🏼
great. video. i just came across this device since i hate how my LG tv disables game mode if i use the tv bluetooth for my airpods pro. just wanted a good video to make sure this works before i bite the bullet. two questions though. how do you control the output volume? is it the same way when you connect a wired headset to the controller? and is the volume as loud as it is from the controller's lower watt output or higher?

Doesn't work for me airpods are not connecting to the avantree.And the avantree is not At the Audio devices.First its orange then white but its not turning green
Keep trying. I’ve noticed that after reconnecting my airpods, sometimes they do not flash green after flashing orange. If they do flash white after flashing orange that also means it was successful in pairing. I’ll make an updated tutorial that should be more helpful for others who are struggling.
Thank you so much for this! While I'm not using AirPods, I'm using special bone conduction headphones as my ears have been sensitive to all other headphones/earphones I've tried. Only problem here is that I need a way to actually use these new headphones on my PS4, and this is exactly the video I needed!

gigi's dreamy world The PS4 currently doesn’t offer a way to connect any Bluetooth enabled headsets to it. This is the easiest and most simplest way that I know of to get Airpods and other Bluetooth headsets working on the PS4.

I wish it would work without the adapter too. You could connect Bluetooth headphones naturally on the PS3 but not the PS4.. that’s just the way Sony made the PS4.

TMG I don’t think I’m clearly understanding your question. You don’t need the Apple lightning cable unless you want to charge the AirPods. It doesn’t have anything to do with pairing it to the PS4 or the Avantree.

Daniel Arthur There’s no lag or delay present when using the adaptor with the Airpods. I cannot speak for other Bluetooth headsets that can be paired with the adaptor as I’ve only paired Airpods to it.
Jumbo Swerve Not sure what you may be doing wrong. If the Airpods are connected and you can hear audio in the Airpods then there shouldn’t be any issues with activating the talk mode. Maybe you are not double clicking the button fast enough to actually activate it into talk mode. If you are, then I’d suggest re-pairing it to the dongle and trying to follow the steps in the video as close as possible to make sure you didn’t miss anything.
Jeff My friends and other people I have played with have told me that they do not notice any lag/delay nor do I sound funny while using them. The only thing I’d say is that the sound quality is not as loud/deep as using a gaming headset. Me personally, I prefer to use my airpods when I’m playing casually and then switch to my gaming headset for more hardcore gaming.
Some reviewers who bought the Leaf and used with PS4 reported that the audio quality with AirPods gets worse, then it usually is with other devices like iPhone or MacBook. Have you noticed anything like that or the sound quality remained the same?

JJMR 642 In my opinion, the sound quality is decent but not as good as a gaming headset. I tend to use my airpods on my PS4 when I want to play casual and then I switch to my gaming headset for hardcore FPS games. Hope that info helped.

Get the ps4 remote play app. Leave the app open and connect your AirPods to your iPhone. You will receive audio and be able to chat
