I've been doing it this way for a while now. But the problem I have is the only place you can control the volume is in the playstation settings. I have a volume control on my headset. Did you find a way around this?

I just bought a pair of Logitech G933 today from BestBuy. While watching you pair your headset to the "amazon" bluetooth transmitter, I thought that my headset might not be paired with the dongle that came with them. I then scrolled through the user manual that I downloaded from the Logitech site and found the pairing instructions on Page 22 (see below). I followed these steps and they worked properly. I hope this saves someone the frustration that I just went through getting these connected to the PS4. Thanks for the video!
1. Plug in USB Wireless Mix Adapter
2. Insert pin into reset port on adapter
to initiate pairing mode
3. Light on adapter will blink
4. Turn on headset
5. Hold “Microphone mute” button for
15 seconds to initiate pairing mode
6. G logo will blink green to indicate
pairing mode
7. Logo will turn to solid color and then
return to currently selected lighting
when paired
That's a USB headset huh? Usually they for the ps4 but the headphones that come with no dongle you need one for..

Not only do you need the Avantree dongle for the AptX Low Latency, but your headset will have to support that codec as well or there will still be a delay.
So effectively, you could use the aux cable with the mic for your wireless headphones, OR you could use the avantree adapter?
Is there usually a difference in sound quality?
And so you know what the latency is like being wired?

I use Cronusmax for tunning my controller, and I needed audio and mic output through usb port. Thanks for the testing its clear out my concern before I buy this.
I don't have this particular one . but i have a bluetooth Dongle with a little 3.5mm jack as mic it works the same way on my ps4 slim . it displays as USB Connection i love it im able to use bluetooth headphones and bluetooth speakes on my ps4. For anyone looking should definitely try one it works.

For ps4, it didnt connect for the first time. So what I did is connect my wireless sony headphone to the usb via PC. After connecting the two, I inserted the usb in my ps4 and it works.

Great solution but only if you have headphones that support APTX Low Latancy. Almost no headphones support that Bluetooth codec so kind of a niche solution. If your Bluetooth headphones do not support APTX LL, the audio lag will destroy you. My personal recommendation for best bluetooth headphones for ps4 that support using avantree dongle is Plantronics Back Beat Pro or Back Beat Pro 2 headphones. Both support APTX and APTX LL. Both have top of the line mics, and both sound friggen great. Avantree also makes a headphone that supports APTX LL, but no idea on quality, sound, ect. I personally use Sony Gold headphones with USB dongle and love the comfort and sound. I use the Avantree dongle on my laptop with Plantronics back beat pro headphones to reduce latancy on watching videos/Netflix.

Will using that transmitter still give you surround sound? Say I play a Blu-ray with 5.1 Dolby... is that outputted through Bluetooth? Or will it only play in stereo?

Hello! I bought this adapter today. I was disappointed because it connects but does not play sound on the JBL speaker. I bought it just to have PS4 sound not on the TV speakers, but with bass on the JBL speaker. Why did TH-cam users say and showed that with this accessory we would be able to connect the PS4 to Bluetooth speakers? This only works with headphones

I bought this so I could use it but if I double tap the button in game audio goes crappy then I can use the mic and then if I double tap the button again the game audio goes back to normal but then I can't use mic anymore. Is there a way to fix this I've been messing around with settings and can't find anything. 'm using cellphone Bluetooth headset.

TriippyHD it's Bluetooth 4.0 which connects to most Bluetooth headsets but it's prime so free returns if USB device doesn't work.

Andrew Lopez yeah im using them now. I wouldnt recommend though because there is a very slight audio delay with the beats. Maybe 1/10th of a second or even less. Its not really noticable in netflix or some action games but terrible for shooters and throws me off big time playing call of duty. Very dissapointed. Also when you enable the microphone to talk it eliminates all the audio lag but reduces volume and sound quality a ton.

I have a PS4 platinum headset wireless and my dongle broke I suppose becuz it doesn’t have a light on it anymore and my headset just blinks blue so I bought a Audio usb transmitter that can connect to any mic and it’s not pairing it’s flashing blue and white and shows up on my PS4 but when I put the psn platinum witless head set into paring mode by holding mute then turning it on it just blinks blue still even tho the new dongle is blinking too they aren’t paring

Yes. Just press the silver button on the USB dongle and it will switch to voice/call mode. But the audio goes to crap though. Better to plug a microphone into the controller and use music mode instead.
