Wacky Shack is iconic! There are spooks and large fanged beasts around every corner. The chills and thrills seem to lunge out at the rider from every corner. Pirates cove is a rare walkthrough ride with spooks and laughs. It is a true Gem. Ride them while you can.
Only people who've experienced the ride truly know what I mean when I say something smells like the Wacky Shack. I'll always remember the distinct smell it has. I think the summer I worked there they had a raccoon problem in Pirate's Cove and had it shut down for a while. I wonder if that was when the pirate's leg was crumbling. Every now and then I hear the voices saying "I ain't got no body. I ain't got no body either." in a flash of a memory.
This is awesome Bill! Love the history and news report style of this video, very well done. It's great to see classic dark rides still in operation and still nearly close to how they were when they first opened.
Both of these rides are fantastic, been on them several times. Kennywood should be ashamed for tearing down Le Cachot, it was one of Bill Tracy's finest works.
What a lovely video! I knew these rides were special growing up, it is great to see the history behind it! I gotta know though, was there ever any taxidermy involved? I have an old taxidermy baboon that allegedly came from the whacky shack.
I hate to say but I was in a stupid stunt in that ride! My friends and I were messing around and put our legs out of the ride at first, and then I jumped out of the car, and they followed. All of a sudden my friends sneaker go stuck in the track! The car behind us caught up and ran into us. They got out and tried to help us lift our car to get the sneaker out of the track, and it started sparking and smoking, and we ran out of the exit which was on the second floor. Embarrassed as all hell the operator came back with my friends shoe, and they didn't even kick us out! Hard lesson learned!
I FORGOT I WROTE ONLY NIINE MONTHS AGO. I DONT HAVE CAR BUT BOY WOULD I LOVE TO GO THREW THESE RIDES I MISS THEM AT PARAGON PARK. BILLY TRACY HAD THEM THERE TWO. WHAT GREAT JOB. YOUR RIGHT THERE MUSIUMS
I actually thought it was a nice park. The Ravine Flyer II was fantastic...and having two classic dark rides in one park is rare. Not to mention that there is free admission to the park which is also rare. If the park closed today, I'm sure it would be missed by many in the Erie area.

Thank God for Randy and his teams passion! This video is awesome!
We love the wacky shack and pirates cove. Two rides I loved as a kid and now my kids are getting to enjoy them.
Love learning all the history, and all the problems that were encountered and later repaired or updated.

Got to ride the Whacky Shack once when I was a kid. First dark ride I ever rode on, and it left an impression!
RANDY YOUR GREAT GUY!
Ive been going there since the mid 90's. Pretty cool stuff. Definitely a scary ride if you are younger.

Awesome Video!!! Just Subscribed ! =)
Bill Tracy? There's two Bill Tracy rides at Lagoon Park in Farmington Utah
Clementon Lake Park had a walk through Wacky Shack that was more of a fun house. Pirate’s Cove was at Dorney.
I remember when Captain Hook's arm used to move.
