Driving my 1978 Chevy NOVA in 1992!
มุมมอง 3988 หลายเดือนก่อน
My first car was this 1978 Chevy Nova. My mom got it new in 1978 and it became my brother's first car in 1989. It then became my first car when I turned 16 in 1991 and I drove it until 1999. In 1999 I sold it to a high school girl who just got her license and I haven't seen the car since. It wasn't pretty, but it had a 305 v8 and served me well. These are videos of my friends and me driving the...

I live in wildwood
0:05 “Century Girl” 1:16 “Century Girl” but from the beginning 2:41 “The Waltz We Love” right about at the beginning ~ I’d love to hear more of this band organ! One of the best sounding Wurlitzer (146b?) band organs I’ve ever heard!
We recognize this place! Thank you for sharing!
This place looks amazing and I'll be visiting soon! Thanks for sharing.
I loved vacationing in Brigantine when I was a kid that castle and Boardwalk was awesome
Went there many times. Scary as hell for a teenager! Through the years they would change things which made it worse. LOL! Been going to Wildwood since 1970.
Thank you! I really need this for my episode called the warthog.
Thanks, I've been wanting to get rid of the live chat from my hentai premieres, setting it to "made for kids" worked like a charm!
I was about 20 or 21yrs old when I visited. Still one of the best attractions ever done on the Jersey Shore. It Rocked!!! Wish they could bring it back. Outstanding.
YAY now I can make a premiere without having to get nasty comments! *LIVESAVER!*
Hi! Would it be okay if i used this video in a student documentary I’m making? You’ll receive full credit.
Sure, as long as you credit: Dark in the Park.
What state and city can find this?
Seaside Heights NJ
I miss the one in Blackpool
I'm guessing this video doesn't really do it justice. I see peoples' reactions, but honestly from the video it looks a little underwhelming.
Oh this is just an AMAZING video! I was mostly interested in the creative engineering animatronic but i left loving the whole attraction itself! Such a horrible thing that those teens did :(
Nice art, but terribly boring ride.
I remember Castle Dracula like it was yesterday. I was 3-4 yrs old. I was scared shhh….less everytime we’d good past the absolute best section of the board walk. My Grand Parents had access to the 2600 build at the North end of the boardwalk . Friends of theirs were so kind and they would share their rooms there with our family I believe my my grand parents would share their house that’s located (to this day) on the bayside of Glenwood Avenue. Their house overlooked the South Bay and we would listen to Sunday with Sinatra and have breakfast while watchin the south bridge open early in the morning. This brought back so many memories. Eventually that all was built up and we lost the one time unbelievable view of the untouched landscape. We would be talking about the Castle Dracula for days before we would arrive in Wildwood. The excitement would grow and we all would scare each other all the way along the ride down Rt.55 south to 47 all the way to Beauna Vista Blvd. Even had a trailer at the Beach Comer Camp Ground because we wanted to be close to the Wildwood board walk (after the house was sold) and All the Rides and excitement. My family hearts bleed for you and shed tears for this iconic lose, Then and even now. Absolutely saving and downloading this for keepsake. Thanks so very for taking the time and sharing your story.
Hi Bill and Seph! Are you guys planning on making a documentary on Wonderland like Dracula's Castle and Brigantine? If so, I got some nighttime photos from the last night of operation if you're interested.
Thanks for the offer. We don't currently have any plans to make a documentary on Wonderland.
Me and my brother went on this alone and we are never doing this again it traumatized him and he’s 11
As a kid this creeped me out the one time I went in it 😂
Jesus, that was embarrassingly terrible. I've seen better setups on lawns during Halloween.
I can still smell it when I see these old pictures. Walking up that ramp as a kid with Toccata and Fugue blasting was magical.
My sons were so afraid of just the looks and sound effects of the Castle that they cried if we went too close. I miss those times as well as when I was a teenager going through this landmark. Horrible that the two teenagers got away from this horrible arson with a slap on the wrist 🤬
I pushed against so many hot teenage girls back when I was there in high school! It was like where teen boys and girls got to grind together! I left there with a lump in my pants and met quite a few girls such as Monica from south Philly. We made it back to the Buccaneer hotel and I got to third base but my “friend” Greg Smalley insisted that we had to leave because he had to mow the lawn the next morning or his father would ground him. Damn….that was the summer of 81 and I still remember it today at age 61!
Years ago when i was around 4 in 2011 i remeber running straight into the glass mutiple times before someone helped me through. 😂
Remember the old Shell Shop at 4:07 shame much that was is lost
Nostalgiaaaa😮😢 bringing back funnn childhood memories, awe we can’t rewind the clock ⏰ for a bit an relieve those fun moments, however these videos and documentary- example which is viewed here-brings memories to all of us who treasure those fun THRILLLING TIMESSS heheheh going to those haunted attractions ❤🎉.😮🧛♀️🦇🏰😱🥂
That castle was massive and it was just unbelievable to look at. It was amazing I still remember walking up to that castle as a kid and it was just unbelievable. It was my favorite ride on the boardwalk
Today you don’t see things like that castle 🏰 everything was so much better when I was growing up in the 80s. The 80s where the best time as a kid to grow up and that castle was the biggest part of wildwood boardwalk
That was 1 of the best rides and sights of wildwood boardwalk. I remember as a kid seeing that castle how amazing it looked and how amazing the boat ride was and the walk through. I remember going into that castle a few times every summer at the shore. Such an amazing time and an amazing time in life. That castle was legendary
Grew up in Brigantine at that time. I was there almost every night in the summer. I remember all the commercials, the great pizza at Walt’s, arcade. The Castle itself was awesome. The dealers in death at the round table and the music set the tone. Dracula jumping out of the picture frame was really good. The lady getting her head cut off was freaky. That late 70’s , early 80’s time was unforgettable. Thanks Carmen Ricci for the memories and thank you Dark in the Park for making this documentary.
I've been going down to Wildwood since 1954 I remember when I first was built and I loved it I had to go on that ride every year
FACT: I NEVER WANTED TO GO BACK TO PHILLY ,
I spent my summers at the '60s & '70's at the South Jersey shore. We started seeing ads for Brigantine Castle in the '70s, so my mom, my two siblings & me, along with my 4 cousins would go from Sea Isle City up to Brigantine Castle. Great day trip in the middle of a South Jersey summer! I miss that place...when Aqua Teen Hunger Force started up and they showed the Scary Castle in South Jersey, I immediately thought that one of the writers had to have had the same childhood/teen years I did.
Wait…you found my ten bucks? Just kidding. Great video!
Cool vid btw what happened too the second anamtronic in the haunted house at 6:22 it don’t move anymore
Not sure. Maybe they are not worried about keeping everything operational since they know the park is closing.
Hi Halloween fans was in Salem recently and love this museum & it's perfect for Halloween fanatics & was there three times ,very neat places ,loving Halloween
It was the coolest ride ever I would go ten times with my wrist band. I loved the guillotine room
Brings back memories. This is the way my father used take us into Wildwood too in the late 70's early 80's when I was a kid. This is a really cool video. Never thought I'd see that bridge ever again 👍🏻🍻
The one thing I hate is that the Hunts Pier was the best of all the piers and it had to go. What a waste!
My dad worked there in the early 90's, he actually played Dracula. I've been there a couple of times in the late 90's but was pretty young to remember much. I showed my dad this and it brought alot of wonderful memories back for him as he put it. Thanks for bringing that back for him:).
There aren't that many permanent funhouses left, I went through most of the ones in Wildwood like Crazy House on Fun Pier, Showboat on Mariner's Landing, Pirate Ship Skua on Hunt's Pier, the two fun houses on Morey's and Mariner's in the mid-late 90's, and the Chamber of Checkers on Wild Wheels/Adventure Pier (old Fun Pier).
Wow this was filmed on my 15th birthday... Grew up in Cape May 🫶
Cape May was better in the 80s, before the Condo-fication, when it was a little bit seedy, especially in the winter. Growing up, all that was open in winter was the Acme 😂
If you go back to the 50s and 60s, Wildwood was like a regular city and many of the businesses were open year round.
Seems like some background music would help, but I never rode this in its current state
I know one thing...those commercials scared the dickens out of me when I was a kid growing up in the 70's and early 80's! LOL!
Yep...us too!
My dad paid the actors to chase me…as if it wasn’t scary enough already.
THE MEMORIES!!! THANK YOU
I remeber as a kid in the 90s being absolutely terrified of this and Dante's Inferno haha. I never even went through either attraction, just the outside was enough for me. Maybe one day I'll get the chance to step through a remade castle. Thise red windows and music are a weird fond memory of what it meant to walk down the boardwalk.
This is really cool is it still there today 🧛🏻♀️
It burned down in 2002.
