John way of speaking sounds exactly like his dads
And that’s a great compliment too!
Reckon that's who taught him to talk?
Yes, it is but it might be just a little slower, as in more measured. IDK, maybe that's something that comes with age?
Three firearms that all function and perform the exact same way but one is restricted. A testament to the absurdity of ‘gun control’.
I hate to inform you, but the short barrel shotgun will and does not perform “exactly” like the other shotguns, this is why you cant just buy it at any walmart

I think that was the wadding!
Up in Canada you can buy the 590A1 14” barrel just like that over the counter on the same day.
True true
Crazy the things you can openly do in "restricted" counties that are special permits in the "lawless gun haven" of the US
Not worth it
That's interesting.
You can also get the 14.5" benelli supernova with telescopic stock
12-14.5” is the ideal barrel length for defensive shotguns, definitely.
Why stop there
@@jason200912Because having at least some barrel to point with is advantageous, and any shorter than that and it becomes very difficult to find aftermarket forends that fit.
John is a quick shot with that pump action, I feel bad for anyone crazy enough to mess with him or his dad.
It's certainly true that he is wild. Manly men. Masculine alpha males. He can shoot quite well. He had an excellent teacher.
Glad to see your keeping up the good work. A few more on the SBS though. Explanation of the legalities was a little confusing. Thanks, your a good shot!
Life is good
Almost..... We need to get OUR hands on one.
Repeal NFA, Abolish ATF
Will never happen. Jewish organizations won’t let it.
Abolish DC
32 inch OAL versus 36.5 inch OAL. I’ll take the unregistered 36 inch.
I went with the 26” OAL bullpup with 18” barrel.
The Shockwave is a great firearm. I put a taller front ball sight and a notched safety switch rear sight on mine and have no problem putting slugs where I want them to go. Short shells give it the ammo capacity that makes me feel comfortable using it for home/personal defense.
It's a toy.
@@morrismonet3554Theres a guy on here that's killed deer with a mossberg shockwave with mini shells, personally I dont like the mini shells, but I still wouldn't call it a toy. Just go look it up if you dont believe me, he even does a recap and opens up the deer to show you performance.
Defender Tactical stuff?
@@TheTrueNorth11 I typically don't like to drop company names in public forums, lest I get accused of being a shill, but yeah it's Defender Tactical stuff. I guess since I've already broken my policy I might as well say how good of a company I think they are, both in terms of product quality and customer service.
@@Jason-co9ep I only ask because I love their stuff. I have something of theirs on almost all of my shotguns.
I believe that if a rifle barrel can be 16” a shotgun barrel should be the same. The two inch difference never made sense to me. Time to end the NFA.
They were both originally 18” in NFA. The gov surplussed the M1 Carbine before word got out it was 1/4” short. Congress amended the act in 1968 to correct that error. I think an earlier similar snafu allowed 16” small bore rifles but I couldn’t quickly find a source.
Funny thing about the 17.5". I have a friend that bought a transferrable 14", and then hacked down an 18" barrel to 16" and threw it on there. He intentionally left the cut rough. You should see the troling he does to the fudds at the range. They notice it looks short and ask him about it. He plays dumb and says "yea i cut it down to 16, because that s what the law said was the limit when I looked it up". They start shaking their heads at him saying its illegal and thats for rifles not shotguns. The shit is hilarious.
Thank and good morning. Mossberg shockwave green laser nd flashlight
a single shot can be bought for $100 and make great breaching shotgun if their was ever a need
We recently acquired through auction a model 37...i'd always thought I would cut the barrels of single shotters and stage them in the house...now I having second thoughts, as I like that nice long barrel...lol, I suppose it is a good problem to have...
@@JohnPublic-dk7zd ill have to look up a model 37. who makes it?
for now i use my old old long barrel single shot with an extra tight full fixed choke (.69) for practicing with clays. its pretty tough but only has a 2 3/4" chamber (unmarked)
i think its a continental co (dont rmember
@@allthingsconsidered3211 the model 37 is made by Winchester, no longer in production...brand new back in '1937 the gun retailed for about $9.99 (no idea when ours manufactured)...we bid a hundred, plus fees...it is rough looking, shoots just fine, and has a full choke, takes 2 3/4 shells...ours is a 12 gauge, the gun came in assorted gauges ( over a million made, only a few are really valued for collecting)...for the money spent i'm happy with it, thinking about taking it to local turkey shoot in a few weeks...
Single shot and double barrel shotguns have shorter overall length than pumps/semis with the same length barrels.
@@JohnPublic-dk7zd
Just me- I wouldn't cut anything considered a
"classic " or collectable.
Find something that looks
like a bad road, but is very
functional and reliable.
Also, if you're going to cut
one, make it 20 inches so
There won't be any dispute
with law enforcement if you
get checked. If it's anywhere
close to 18 inches, they'll get
pi$$y about the actual length.
It's hard to call 20 inches a
couple of millimeters too short
"Right size?" well not for Geese season ;)
Mossberg 590a1
Always wanted to take a coach gun and cut the barrels down to 18 they’re usually 20. With the action on those they’re already short so taking off 2 inches would be a big difference.
Keep up the great work John thank you 👍🏻👍🏻🪖💪🏻🇺🇸
Good video and info. Your sound and camera presence is just like your Dad. Good work. keep it up.
I have the 590 / 20 inch / 9 shot and love it !! Ghost ring sights and heat shield, a bad ass !!!
A youth model has a shorter stock and longer barrel = better shotgun. why sacrifice your long range capability... but cutting off the wrong end ? !!
So a rifles limit is 16 but a shotgun 18? 🤦🏼♂️ What clowns come up with this crap
They both used to be 18 inches from the 1934 NFA. Basically a government f*ck-up made after they realized they were selling less than 18 inch barrled M1 carbines to the.surplus market to civilians made them change it. Now adays the government probably wouldn't own up to a mistake like that and would order mass buy backs (aka confiscations) and make a felon out of anyone caught with one.

The US government, it used to both be 18. Realizing they were selling off surplus carbines under 18 inches is a big part of why they changed.
@@anderson6606 Ah. Interesting

Any 18.5/14.5in mossy and walmart Fanny packs 30+/18 all day😂, especially the Old 18.5 500 persuaders/tactical/XS with the collapse stock, just take the shell caddy off the stock side saddle Velcro it fits perfect and ziptie n sportwrap an limbsaver classic best shotgun stocks ever any LOP with no hand in face in cqb/🚘💨🐌, and literally feels great ☁️💨🐌😂
The shotguns coming out of Turkey really aren't that bad. After a lot of digging, turns out G Force makes parts for these things. They sell pistol grips for them for like $29. These parts fit Dickinson, Citadel, G Force, Hatsan, and a slew of other brands imported from Turkey. This makes the perfect sized shotgun for under $200.
I think it is kind of funny that you can't own a short barreled shotgun because it is too whatever they came up with in 1934. However if you give us $200.00 all of a sudden it is no longer bad and you can now own one.
Be pretty funny when you go to jail ..
as long overall length is 26 inches or more nda.
Who is that man?
Bro thinks he's Hickock45😂
i beleive the 14" shotgun is a nfa item.....my dad got a remington 1 years ago...
20 Inch is the best. You get 8 Rounds brother!!!!!!!!!
A chip off the old block. Clone of your old man.
Actually disturbing how these can't be bought in stores.. What a joke
Okay, man! The video is great but let's not waste time. Where did you bury Hickok?😁
My maverick 88 with 18", pistol grip stock is perfect.
I think we lose this country regardless good luck
I was issued a 14 inch 870 but prefer the 18 inch.
How come?
How bout maverick with the 18. Or even better the one with the 20 that has extended mag. Half the price.
GONG!!!
Probably not good for ducks or geese. People, probably perfect.
I heard a 14” barrel shotgun has more felt recoil?
Good morning from south central BC, thanks for the video. As mentioned already, although our handgun rules are draconian at best, we see a lot of short shotguns carried for dealing with recalcitrant bruins - of which there is no shortage btw. After lifetime of packing 18½" barreled pump guns, about 5 years back my "meat packing/mushroom picking" shotgun is now a 14". It's much much handier to carry - yes again a handgun would be 100 times better - but it certainly has more muzzle blast than the slightly longer barrels. Usually I train with the longer barreled ones because of that and just shoot the shorty enough to maintain familiarity with it. Stay well.
Funny but going to jail for having an illegal weapon, eh, not so funny. 😢
bro, this guy is cool af too. Hope we see him more or both of y'all together.
On the down side, the shorter the barrel, the fewer the rounds, right?
It's legal for a price.
Just like speeding!
Well shoots...now you've opened Pandora's box...yall better do a review on the Genesis Arms sbr 12 gauges then! C'mon now!
...was that a shockwave oh no it might be a Tac14...i sa y i say i s a y that varmint has no chance dag nabit
I thought it was 16 inch to be legal
That's rifles shotguns are 18 something
Mossberg is junk these days. Have a shockwave with nothing but problems. Absolutely will not eject 3 inch, don’t even bother with them anymore. Works ok with anything smaller but still has a lot of feeding and ejection problems. I wouldn’t touch Mossberg ever again.
Is it just one gun? It does seem like their QC has slipped a little from some posts I've seen but I would send it back and give then a chance to fix it.
Yeah this is an underrated comment ,both my mc2c and my shockwave looked used and beat up, but were "new" out of box ,both have issues . No more Mossberg trash for me.
lol sample size of one.
Womp womp
@@TheTrueNorth11 Anecdotal evidence is the foundation for larger data sets... you fail...
It’s Definitely a QC problem. I hate to beat up on a reputable company, but what does that even mean these days?
👍 Very Nice 👍
John is a great shot!
nice rabbit guns
Shockwave and a pistol brace. No stamp needed.
Shockwave is registered with the feds as a “firearm” and not as a “shotgun.” Shotgun is not allowed with such a short barrel or pistol grip. Our government wasting our tax dollars.
Third and good day
Love my 590
Look at both shotguns on the left. The difference in length is almost nothing, maybe the length of my index finger. It is not enough to matter. I carried a shotgun for about 15 years of my 35 year career as a Peace Officer. I was on a Raid Team 5 years. I used a shotgun in a couple of shootings. A pump shotgun with about a 20" barrel is just nearly perfect.
I have a 20" 590 (with the bayonet lug) with Magpul furniture and even shortening the LOP it's long up front for indoor use.
However, I would worry about muzzle blast using a 14" indoors in the middle of the night, which is the most likely scenario for home defense.
🤩🇺🇸👍⚖️👁️👁️⚖️👍
My KSG is best for home defense. Short, maneuverable in close quarters, and high capacity.
And miles behind a mossberg in terms of reliability and overall functionality.
