This song is a veiled reference to the 1978 Jonestown massacre in Guyana when “drinking the Kool Aid” entered the language to mean falling for false ideologies.
Hey Sue Sue and Wolfman! Yes, it is a reference to the Jonestown massacre and drinking the Koolaid. In this case it is about drinking the Koolaid that mass and social media pushes at us to keep us divided. The younger generations have had this their whole lives, and the song is about how they are drowning in it. Another brilliant song with deep meaningful lyrics from the best rock band of this generation!

i can't say that the song is specifically about Jonestown but it does cover a lot of situations (eg: political, social, etc) where "drinking the kool-aid", aka blindly taking what is being said as gospel or truth, is not a good thing... note the several songs The Warning has written about social media, XXI Century Blood and Disciple to name two i can think of right away, and how following along can/may lead to undesired outcomes or consequences...
