What an MX% encyclopaedia on legs! Roy is a humble hero.
@0:46 - there's a budget on this car, so we'll do a really good job and prepare for Mike@DriveTribe to throw us under the bus...
Curious, what was the budget? And what did it end up costing in the end? Seems like a massive amount of work, but well worth it!
I reckon Roy could build a whole car from sheet steel ;)
Absolute craftsman Roy, I always get excited when you post new videos. This has been a mammoth task and I take my hat off to you guys. I’m from Yorkshire so it will be my flat cap 🤣
Question please:
Is there some sentimental attachment to this actual MX-5? I would’ve thought the ‘Drive tribe’ crew would have sourced one that didn’t require this amount of work.
Great work you guys, can’t wait for updates. Thank you,
Neil.
It’s Mike’s first rear wheel drive car from his uni days.
Thank you for this Nathan, I had no idea.
👏 best in the business. You guys sorted out our NB last year and it’s like new where you did it (rear quarters and chassis rails). Keep up the great work 👏
I've just had my now in for complete sills, chassis rails and underseal/arches and a few more bits nearly 3k of work.
Hey there. Bringing up undersealing. What black underseal did you use on the cars about 5 years ago.
Was it a waxoyl type sealant.
The reason I ask, I want to use it behind my front wings.
Cheers
We have always used dinitrol and bilt hamber underseal and cavity wax
All good as usual
What are you guys using too seal
wonder how its coming along
Where can I get this Basecap?

Is there any news on this car? It's been a year since drivetribes last video about this car
Yeah, it’s still outside our workshop, I need to chase Mike to see what is happening really! 🤣
Hope you guys got paid a good amount for this, the work is amazing, and it really is a shame we haven't seen more of it since.
It would be interesting to know what the final bill for all this came to
Must be the best part of £5000-£7000
You do a lot of talking about what you are going to do, and pictures of what you have done, but no video at all of you actually doing the work which would be far more interesting to see.
Has this been handed to you guys following their issues with Mad Ford Engineering?
What issues did they have?
Why not just find a rust free body? They made millions of these things, get complete rust free car in US for 3-4K dollars
Where would the story be in that?
Plus, this is Mikes personal car and he wanted to save it
