I love the browning palm leaves as a base for colourful glads and sunflowrs. Using the "ugly" materials is very ikebana isn't it? I love the green stuff too. Very beautiful and dramatic.
Thank you. The palms weren’t quite right as they were, so a touch of gold really lifted them and made them match the vase. Hope you are having a good week!
Very GRAND..Love that huge vase..love the gladdies..love the gold sprayed leaves..love the whole arrangement...have I said that I love this week's video. Thank you John for coming up with such a variety of arrangements.
Thank you for this grand arrangement, John! As I have said often, I ♥large arrangements, and I cannot lie! I like that you use gladioli very much, as I find these magnificent flowers much maligned. And eremurus are phenomenal. The lines of this arrangement are stunning and the vase...perfect. Again, thank you! Have a wonderful week.
Hello! Thank you - this was fun to make and I do enjoy creating a larger design - it’s more fun! Hope you are well, and wishing you a fantastic week! 😀🌼🌼🌼
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Beautiful 😍work John, the base is very important and striking with the color of the sunflowers and gladioli, it has turned out beautiful 😊🦩🌻
I love BIG arrangements and this design is definitely successful, John!!! My only thought/question is this: the container seems a bit unstable for an event where there would be a lot of people. Afraid it might topple...would you put something in it to weight it down more sturdily before attaching your actual design vessel?
That’s a very good observation - yes, I would add damp sand into the container. It’s easy to use, and to pour out afterwards. When a design is in a room with people it is at risk of being bumped or knocked. I would also tape the top dish onto the vase - and that would be hidden anyway after the design put in.

i think with this arrangement it needed heavier greenery tall and and around the vase
