    I went down to Tower Bridge on Friday and photographed around the area that you were in with the fountains. A gentleman in a fluorescent vest (of course) told me I was on private land and couldn’t photograph. He was very polite, and I was equally polite in telling him I was going to ignore his request. Needless to say there were lots of people using iPhones that were ignored.
    Enjoyed your shots. Thanks.

      Yeah it's a shame isn't it, I have had problems around Tower of London as well, you can photography anything if your on public land, they say it's private but I would politely ask for proof and make it difficult for them if they are funny with you.. I tend to try and be polite though and find most people tend to let you photograph for a bit

    Images are lovely, but you missed some lovely shots that were very close by and not as touristy, Shad Thames 5 mins walk from the bridge and frames the sky garden and the rest within the columns. 120 Fenchurch the garden you were pretty much there when you were taking a shot of the shard. One change has far more images to offer than the roof. The stairs in the actual atrium are a great place to capture st pauls from (even an image of them is great, loads of reflections and glass to make use of) and also the escalators you walked buy at One change offer an interesting alternate view (just outside Next) then everybody forgets monument (the actual statue) you can go up there for a fiver and offers some impressive views of the sky garden and the shard, then you have the sky garden which is actually free and you just turn up and go up for as long as you like. And in the at the area, you have Lloyds and the rest and places to eat in Spitalfields (which you where close to walking across tower bridge). As i say though, the images where lovely

      Hey thanks for the informative message nice to have a few more places I will check out next time.. I did get the odd shot through the elevator using the glass either side, and I have shot the stair case before, but it was a bit rushed so didn't include them.
      Im glad how the day worked out, managing to capture the sunset at tower bridge.. but there are always so many places to shoot in London so thanks for the extra ideas

    Great video and images, I was at One New Change with a couple of friends in 2019 when we i sited from Manchester, we had 3 tripods up for around 30 minutes with no issues at all, you always get one jobsworth security guard. It’s the same here when it comes to car park roofs, stayed on one for an hour for a glorious sunset yet went a week later and had security breathing down my neck before I’d even finished putting the tripod up

    great insight on the millennium bridge, I never shot there but I always asked myself why it wasn't shot with like a big stopper , the bridge moves..great to know I won't waste time going there.

      No worries, yes the bridge was very bad when first installed they have stabilised it now but it bounces quite a lot.

    Wow, that was a lot of work, but you pulled it off nicely, it was highly watchable. A great day out i'd say, judging from all the great images you got. I really liked the millennial bridge shots, very creative. Good for you for not being bothered by people looking at you, I don't think I could vlog in public like that.

      @scoellphotography  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Simon Burn Thanks Simon for the great comment and thanks for watching, yeah im liking the shots, think I got a few nice ones.. London is great for making creative shots quite easy always another way you can spin an images..
      Haha I can't vlog in front of other Photograpthers very well or in small towns, but places like London it is so busy I think you just blend it..

    I love the composite shot on the millennium bridge. Can u share more details on how u got this shot. With the 4 minute exposure how is it that the railings are not blurry. Would also appreciate more details on how u stitched this while including the motion

    • @scoellphotography
      @scoellphotography  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, so as the camera is also on the bridge it moves with the bridge so the rails and bridge stay sharp, the bit that moved was the background including St Paul's etc..
      All I have done is layer a quick exposure of st Pauls behind the long exposure image and erased through in Photoshop.. that will allow the motion in the long exposure but the sharpness of St Paul's, you just choose which parts you erase through to, I have mainly concentrated on St Paul's and a few things in the background..
      Hope this makes sense.

    • @ashittandon9301
      @ashittandon9301 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@scoellphotography Thank you so much for replying. So was this a composite edit of 2 photos. One photo with everything tack sharp and another photo with the long exposure? I need to try this technique out. By any small chance do u still have the original pics? Would love to take a peek at the original pics and try and blend them together myself. BTW, also loved the photos u took on the tower bridge. Great stuff

    • @scoellphotography
      @scoellphotography  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah just that a composite off images, one sharp and the other a long exposure, sorry I no longer have those files.. it's a good technique and works well whenever there is moment in something you don't want lime flowers or tree etc
