    Did I miss something, no Dartmoor on the list? The place where Spielberg went to film parts of Warhorse, came for a couple of weeks, stayed for months, just because of the incredible light.

    Great list Tom and the Isle of Skye is certainly on my list. I'm heading back to Cornwall next month and look forward to shooting on the coast again. Thanks for sharing

    Love the fact you stated an hour to get up old man of storr, I got told 20 minute hike, got there around 45 min before sunrise and only just made it, didn't even get as far back as you did, no idea where people got 20 minutes from, possibly in a Chinook helicopter abseiling down, glad Skye was number one on your list, one of the best places iv ever visited, fairy glen is also nice most times of day, I did sunset in may 2019 and it was beautiful.

      I think whoever told you 20 minutes was having a laugh. It takes about 45 minutes just to reach the gate and then the real steep bit starts. Skye is an incredible place to photograph, but unfortunately either the Scottish tourist board did some excellant marketing or just instagram as it's now overrun with people.

      @@LandscapePhotographyiQ yeh I know what you mean, when we went I didn't even meet anyone Scottish, Mexican, German, Japanese you name it, loads of different nationalities but not many Scottish 🤣

    What an amazing source of information you have... I just enjoy being alone when doing photography to entertain the idea of joining a group, but hopefully one day you write a book about your adventures... I would definitely buy it as I'm sure most of your viewers would also : )

    I can go along with your #1, Tom. But although there are about 1100 windmills left in my country (I'm a sucker for windmills), your #10 is fantastic, a kind of windmill we don't have here....a real beauty!

    • @LandscapePhotographyiQ
      @LandscapePhotographyiQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Henk, the tower mills or windpumps are more common here and unfortunately quite a few are falling into disrepair, so I'll have to come to Holland to photograph some of yours!

      @@LandscapePhotographyiQ Here in the north the windmills look much better than in the west, standing in a much more natural surrounding without disturbing elements around them. So, you are more than welcome ;-)

    Great video and excellent locations! How in a 19 minute video, from a guy who’s has lived in the UK for 36 years, do you sound 99.9% American? I couldn’t give you 100% because you used the term “torch” instead of headlamp….lol.

      I know what you mean Mike, I haven't been able to shed this accent and it can be a hinderance at times. Glad you liked the video, another one on the way for US locations.

    Thanks Tom. I've just subscribed to your channel. Some very useful information in this video. I've got a trip to Scotland planned for November but can't decide between going to Skye again or Assynt. My mate wants to go to Aron but I'm not sure what the weather will be like on Aron in November - I've checked and it looks likely to be wet. This may or may not be a problem as like you say, Scottish weather changes in a second. Would love to know your opinion.
    Thanks
    Rich

      Photographically speaking, I feel Skye has so much more to offer with such a diverse range of subjects. It has become more popular so if you want less crowds go to Arran. Thanks for subscribing, much appreciated!

    • @richardsmith533
      @richardsmith533 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Tom. Yes you're right. These iconic locations can get very popular and it can be hard to find a unique composition. Perhaps it's worth exploring Arran I'm sure it's just as stunning but maybe you have to work a little harder!! Easier to get to from England too..sorry for misspelling the name I get mixed up with the Irish island and a bloke I used to know with the same spelling !!

    And this is why so many people take the same shots from the same locations because they get directed to places instead of using their own imagination to find somewhere new. So many places on this list you pretty much have to queue for your turn to get a ''unique'' image. pfft !

    • @LandscapePhotographyiQ
      @LandscapePhotographyiQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's not been my experience at these locations. These were all made during typical landscape photography optimal times at sunrise or sunset except for the waterfall in Wales where I was with a friend, didn't see a sole the entire walk. Finally, you won't see anyone on the Norfolk Broads out of the peak summer season. Of course you are welcome to your own opinion. Sorry you didn't find this beneficial, thanks for sharing.
