Worked like a charm! Answered two of my questions: the purple line and offline media issue. Simple fix once I understood what was happening and I have you to thank for that! Great video.
Hey man, your solution isn't right, because when you choose "use proxy media" it'll render using the proxy files and you'll lose quality. THE SOLUTION for this problem is to go to the media pool, select all the video files, Press "Unlink Proxy media" and then media will be shown as red thumbnails, now relink those media files again to their original directory.
I appreciate the info! This video was me sharing the solution that worked to successfully get the project to export, loss of quality regardless (I didn't see any quality loss when I did this to a project, but I was also just so excited it worked that maybe I overlooked that LOL). But with your info here, I can try this if I deal with the issue in the future!
@@Delkery Yes it's really a bug... Because no one knows the clips are unlinked and even when you relink those links it doesn't matter. So your solution is half right because it will use the proxy files to render which they usually with lower quality than the original. But when you unlink those clips from the proxy files it shows that all the clips is really missing and what was shown before is really the proxy files... I hope blackmagic see this weird bug and fix it. Thanks for your information sharing.
Omg! Thank you so much! I was getting desperate and crazy with this! I’ve tried to connect to the media a bunch of times, and it was always saying that it wasn’t found… so I used proxy’s! And when the export came I had that exact situation! My God, thank you for your vid! Saved my as** 😅🙏🏻🙏🏻
What a legend. I am editing my coursework due today and this popped up. I was literall baffled because all my media was there and linked, your video saved me.
Awesome! It actually worked! I literally looked up " media offline trying to export purple line" You are the only person I could find with the same issue. (And solution) Thank you so much! I swear I've been running into every issue possible, lol
dude thank you so much i spent hours editing one of my videos only to have this exact same issue! i was stuck for hours when i noticed how the timeline acted as if everything was fine 😭 thank you so much 🙏
Another way to fix this problem is to replace the clip that needs fixing. If you tried to relink the clip and it didn't work, instead of relinking the clip, you have to click on replace this clip and you have to select the missing clip and that's it. this is a better solution instead of rendering the video in proxy, At least it worked for me. Anyway this is a good video
Thank you so much ! I watched about 15 "what to do, media off-line warnings" TH-cam vids and not one addressed my problem/ worked. The proxy check was the key. I spent hours on this, you corrected it quickly.
I can't thank you enough man! I've got a video I've spent a TON of time on and I thought I was just gonna have to throw it all away because of some stupid bug.
Bro, you really saved my arse right there! Thank you soo much for this solution! To all others out there: it appears to be especially the case when you work with media stored in the cloud and cooperate with others on the project.
You're a legend man! Thank you sooo much :) I had this problem on multiple occasions when I would reorder my files and then relink them as proxy media but it wouldn't let me export my video regardless of having relinked all of the clips.
Definitely check through these comments. People have shared some valuable knowledge and info about that - I had no idea when I made this video that it may create lesser quality, just that it worked to export successfully! Hopefully you find your quality solution!
Oh my God, I deleted the project not once, but twice, all because of this error! But, as they say, you can learn from your failures. Thanks, bro, you've saved my next deletion
This is due to the proxies. If you disable them from the upper right corner, you'll see which clips are offline. Then, you just need to replace them with the original ones in the media pool
I will try that because I have one video that I just been finished editing, and when I was playing in Fusion it suddenly show Media Offline on some clips and I tried every tips out there.
I have exactly this problem. I have tried the solution approach but, unfortunately, this has not solved the problem for me. I didn't get any purple bars either. Where I have ticked ‘Use Proxy Media
I'm sorry to hear this didn't work for you - try reading through some of these comments as others have provided different other potential solutions to this problem! I hope you're able to figure it out!
This is a cache issue and deleting all render cache (sometimes you have to do it manually) should clear the issue. The problem with using proxy media for export render is if your proxy setting are lower resolution and bitrate than the source files you can end up with noticeably lower quality…
I didn’t realize the ways to completely fix the issue when I made this video - definitely thinking about updating it this year with proper fixes like this! Thanks for sharing this!
@@Delkery well, in a way you actually did know as through what you suggest new cache is created, your solution is correct just that there is an easier way to do it. Keep up the good work!
First, thank you for at least identifying the right problem. Tried that, didn't work the first time. Checked all the boxes in that section, and now it's rendering... It worked!!!
This is not a real solution as the video will be rendered with “proxy” quality. I think have found a real solution that worked for me. What you do is simply disable all proxies. Then it will show which file has a missing link in the media pool and in the timeline. Then just re-link that file and it will render without any problem. Later re-apply the proxies. This worked for me. The reason it shows “media offline” is because the file has lost the link, so what you are seeing on the screen is the image of the proxy, not the original clip. It misleads you to think the clip is still linked when it’s really not. By disabling proxies you see which clip is not linked.
Spent hours trying to resolve this exact issue. Watched this video. 2 minutes and it was fixed. Amazing, thankyou!
