I literally started my TH-cam channel the day you posted this and I'm so excited that this video popped up for me when I searched for free editing software!
This is a solid tutorial! Thank you, Katie. I recently started my TH-cam channel and I've been using Vmaker AI's youtube video editor for some time now. It feels like my personal assistant at this point :D
I literally just heard of this editing software from other TH-cam last night and was signing on to TH-cam to find out the name. Your video is perfect timing 😂😂 thank you! Can’t wait to see your tutorials too!!
More tutorials please! I downloaded this last night and randomly found your video this morning after searching free editing software. It was intimidating at first but you made it so simple! Thank you. New subbie
🚀🚀🚀 I'm still learning Davinci Resolve so this came at a perfect time because I need to edit my next video. Trying to blur objects was so intimidating, but not anymore. Thank you for this quick 101!
Perfect timing! I was trying to decide once on editing software and it was holding me back from actually getting this TH-cam channel started! I'm off to start learning Davinci Resolve and get uploading videos! Thanks Katie! (I'm also local, hoping to bump in to you someday and totally fangirl)
Katie, thank you very much. I just started in da Vinci resolve last week. And admittedly was quite intimidated by it. I’ve been meddling through one video. And I needed a little bit more direction. This was very helpful.
I grew up using Kinemaster for editing videos, I was HEARTBROKEN to find it wasnt on computer! This might be the easiest and coolest tutorial ive found, especially because she shows exactly where everything is :)
Robust software! Cool image bouncing effects and different voiceover styles. Thanks for the tutorial sharing practical ways to start editing with this software Katie! Hoping all is well these days.🚀🎥
Thank you. I love your videos that demystify the editing process. I'm just a beginner learning basic editing skills. I still get excited when I learn even one thing, like how to add a sticker to my video etc. ☺️
That’s actually one of the benefits of upgrading toDavinci studio, the paid version. I used the free version for the first six or eight months of my channel, and then I was happy to spend $300 on it because that’s a lifetime license. It’s not a monthly membership. I hate software that nickel and dimes you and tries to force you to keep paying for it forever. But anyway, DaVinci Studio is worth it if you’ve got a good graphics card on your computer, because it will use more of your graphics card to render and process stuff, instead of higher CPU. my computer is not the absolute best or anything. It’s an Alienware computer that’s a couple years old, has a 3080 graphics card. But it works great for da Vinci studio.
I think overall, even with some issues, the fact that you can just buy the program 1 time and not have to pay a subscription for such a powerful tool!!
Can you show us how to use Davinci and have your little face pop up at the bottom while having another video on the screen? 9:04 like at this part of your video etc. Pretty please and thank you!! 🙏
I've heard things about davinci and thought it was another one you had to purchase. I will definitely be looking into it now especially cuz I do not have money to spend on the expensive ones XD thank you for this video
Thanks for this amazing video, Katie. Will definitely try DaVinci out. Does it also have the picture-in-picture feature? Like, while the tutorial of the tool was happening in the background, there was a small circle at the bottom right of you walking us through it.
🚀Thanks for this video! Would love for you to also share how you keep from filling up a hard drive with the edits and libraries. Are you storing all of the renders, edits, and libraries onto an external drive? If so…would you share how to set up the files to be stored on external drive with DaVinci Resolve?
I wonder what your thoughts are on PC's VS Macs in terms of video editing in general. Pardon the question if you've already made a video on this that I haven't seen...
Another awesome video Katie but I am studying a Broadcast Media Course and it involves using Adobe Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve only works on a laptop/desktop that has more than 16GB RAM but I have been able to use Premier Pro on a 8GB laptop. I would like to upgrade or replace my laptop with a 16GB or more RAM laptop. Love 🥰 the video and love 💗 Katie.
Unfortunately I can't use Resolve as I'm on an older Macbook Pro without a dedicated graphics card! Luckily my music software (Reaper) also doubles as a video editor so I can do a lot of things in that (just not the really fancy effects like you are demonstrating here)
From Suriname. You inspired me to do some more research. I will and i will let you know if i successfully edited my first video. Tangi! (Thats thanks in Surinamees)
🚀 hi Katie! thanks for yet another amazing video! i have one off topic question: would you mind sharing your settings for samsung monitor that you have? i just got it and the image right off the box looks drastically different from my mac
🚀🚀🚀 Thank you Katie! Yes, I’m following my dreams and having adventures.😂 I decided since I film everything on my iPhone, it was just easier to use CapCut on my phone so I can eliminate that video transfer time. Could you do a video on how beginners start with this and what benefits can you get with better software and also making the transfer as simple as possible. I think that’s my biggest barrier and I know I’d be easier to see on my computer, but I just don’t have all that kind of time. Idk. What do you think?
🚀 Great overview. The adobe CC subscription is getting a bit out of control and I was wondering if the transition to Resolve would be easy. This makes me feel like I can tackle it. 👩🏻🚀
Heyyy katie! Spending some time w/U on my Saturday night! I'm working on doing some projects to help youth become excellent servant-hearted individuals through rewards based challenges, I need to learn how to do cool videos to engage with people all across america, I'm learning a lot from you I hope to connect! -Lauren from San Diego
We have been using this for about 2 years why would people pay for software when you can have this for free. Had to buy a new laptop though cos of the ram usage but worth it 😊
The journey of a TH-camr is filled with ups and downs. There are days when I feel like giving up, but I try to remind myself why I started.

I love that you go to the point at the beggining.
This is a solid tutorial! Thank you, Katie. I recently started my TH-cam channel and I've been using Vmaker AI's youtube video editor for some time now. It feels like my personal assistant at this point :D

Meddling or muddling through?
@@gayathrivadivelu5432 😂 muddle! Muddling 😆 meddling would take more skills than I have at present
💻thank you for talking about the free version!

🚀 This is brilliant. The final frames you are taking into your video! 😎✔️💯
Omg I just downloaded it like last week cause of you. I’m definitely overwhelmed by it so far so I’m glad you posted this!!
The only issue with da vinici resolve is- it requires high RAM PC, which some beginners might not have access to😢

same here this looked a level up right?
@@Tosh-hugs yes it did! Nice stuff
This video convinced me to download Davinci

Pretty please and thank you!! 🙏
I know you can do this in Canva, but if you can do it in DR that would be great.
She is probably using a screen recording software like loom, Komodo decks, tella, descript…
@@ashwiggy ooo thank you!! Appreciate the knowledge!
🚀 - me following my dreams! I switched to Davinci this year after Riza said she used it. I love it!!
I love davinci, I have been using it for a while, I'm still learning how to edit better lol but I do love it
🚀 I’m going to try out DV, thanks for the video !
Will look into that. Was thinking of buying into Filmora or Power Director or Camtasia.
Thanks Katie! What frame rate settings are you using in DaVinci Resolve?
🚀 was just looking into davinci as you posted this video. Perfect timing!
Thanks so much for making this video! I will go follow my dreams :)
Oops.... 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
I'm revisiting Da Vinci more my computer is a bit beefier. Thanks for the tutorial. 🚀
Thanks so much for this video!

thank you for this video, I will definitely be trying this editing softwear today for my video's.
My current video editor greatly reduces the audio quality from the original wav files. Will Da Vinci keep the audio fidelity?
Thanks Katie!

Super helpful. You gained a new sub. ❤. Thank you.
I’ve been wanting to switch for a while now but it’s intimidating. Please do a comparison- like just how easy is it compared to CapCut?
Very useful thanks

I have a random question - what fonts do you use for your thumbnails? 👀
From Suriname. You inspired me to do some more research. I will and i will let you know if i successfully edited my first video. Tangi! (Thats thanks in Surinamees)
Thanks for sharing...
what's best for automated captions for audio tracks that are added over video? (not what's being said on camera, but dubbed over?)
🚀Wow, thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the video
Great video!
DR is good but I've been rolling with capcut with great results and it's free too...
just putting it out there..
love ya
-Sick
capcut keeps on limiting their free versions. now even noose reduction isn’t free anymore. too revenue-driven
yeah but their free plan is getting more and more limited 😅
Can I ask why DaVinci over Capcut?
2 words "its better"
🚀 hi Katie! thanks for yet another amazing video!
i have one off topic question: would you mind sharing your settings for samsung monitor that you have? i just got it and the image right off the box looks drastically different from my mac
Katie, one quick question, do you have a link for davinci with your affiliate number or name?

Can DaVinci modify an image, say change the color of the facade of a house?
Thanks for sharing💻💻💻
I used to use DR but it requires a big ram.. mine would lag all the time. I tried using proxys and it still didn’t help😅😅 switched to capcut
You should add a link to download Resolve in the video description
So I tried to download it, but it wants me to enter info after purchasing. So how is it free?
