- Sylvester Stallone joins Jonathan on the couch to talk Arnold Schwarzenegger, critics criticizing Rambo's violence, staying in shape and family life.
#SylvesterStallone #ArnoldSchwarzenegger #EXPEND4BLES
He defends the ultra-violent new Rambo which critics are saying is the most violent film in years: "It's very violent, but I thought I can't soft-pedal it, it's a real war film."
And reveals there are more Rambos to come: "I'd love to go back to Rambo again, you don't get to play that kind of character very often. At first it was stereotyped but now I'm really proud to have done it. It's timely, ten years ago it wouldn't have been right."
Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone takes to the sofa, along with Skins star Nicholas Hoult and mezzo-soprano sex symbol Katherine Jenkins. With music from the Guillemots.

He has been my idol since day 1 on screen and you can see the kind of guy he is, he's gracious, not conceited and I loved this interview, long live your acting days Sir Sly!!
funny commend considered Sly day 1 on the screen
Send Him to Ukraine he has plenty of ammunition
Although very successful, Stallone as an actor is very underrated. The scene in First Blood where he breaks down emotionally and tells Colonel Trautman the story about his dying friend in Vietnam is one of the best performances ever in the history of cinema.
Agreed. What a beautiful scene.
How is he underrated? He's massively respected and admired globally. What a strange comment
@@ryanrobinson8682 Nobody is saying that he isn't respected or admired. As an actor he is underrated. He won't show up in anyone's top ten list of actors from his era like Pacino, De Niro or Hofman. Yet his performance in First Blood is outstanding and especially the ending is one of the best dramatic scenes put on film.
That and the Mick death scene. Absolutely capable and just had a vision.
I’ve seen that movie plenty of times and like the scene; HOWEVER, it is kind of hard to make out the words he says in that scene, in my opinion. He kinda hasn’t broken out of that action hero mold though, but he’s still an iconic actor.
Can't wait for Tulsa King season 2!
One of the best things he has done. Love it.
Me too, brilliant. 75 years old and charisma high!
Hell yeah....awesome
@@jameshickey1294where can i watch this show ?
He has to get massive credit he could of retired but he took a lot of stick from critics about Tulsa king but I Wana see part 2 dam straight
Great interview...loved this. Good chemistry between Sly and Jonathan.
Strange comment
@@matimus100 Elaborate.
Toppers topp!!❤❤❤😊😅
This is one of my fave Stallone interviews. I saw it in 2008 when it was originally on TV. Brilliant..
No one mentioned the tulsa king can't wait for season 2
@@paulskinback717 yup, Tulsa king was the shit back in 2008
I Love This Man!!!
My uncle had a part in Rocky 4... played one of the russian generals in the crowd.
He was paid well... feed well all of it. He said that Sylvester Stallone was in every way a nice kind and gentle genuine Gentleman!!!
Got to know him abit.
Had pictures taken with him and rocky's wife.
Anyway its nice to know that truely nice people are in this industry...
He really did it on his own!!! Very inspirational...
Keep Rocking Rocky!!!
People call me Rocky because of my name though lol...
Roxanne...
Anyways All The Best!!!👏👏👏❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇🌈🌈🌈
He's a very smart man imo & agree totally with your comment
You think Sylvester Stallone well answer us...
No
Congratulations on being in love with another man Thanks for telling everyone
This guy is truly immortal as an actor in the action genre! Perhaps one of the most influential action stars in history so far!
And will
Smart talented man . Never liked him as a kid but looking back this man was awesome.
How come you never liked him as a kid
Weird !!!! He was like every kid's hero in the 80s and 90s
Very strange
A very smart man. Not much else to say really. Rocky, Rambo and some of the comedies are just great. All rounder and a lovely fellow from what it seams.
Stallone seems to have a great sense of humor. Not just talking about his films and life, but even in his films (the Rambo joke in Tango & Cash, the Expendables movies)
He's proven himself in the action/tough guy genre many times over. I wish he would tap into his vulnerable side more. The first Rocky movie did that, and I liked his performance in Copland. I'd like to see him pursue that more.
True yep, or more theatre style comedy like Oscar (for those that say he cannot act theatre style)
Copland was great!
My two favorite Stallone films. Great performances in both.
Funny how Jonathan talking about Wambo and Woky movies 😂😂😂
Thats wocky to you my son !!!!
Awesome interview.
This is 15 years old. I thought sly was looking good all of a sudden 🤣😂🤣
Yeah, he's aged just a little, but then who wouldn't.
I was actually thinking "is this recent? How the hell does Jonathan Ross still look so young?"
A Hollywood gentleman making hardcore action old school great movies we all miss. Thank you Mr. Sly for all you have being doing for the last 30 or 40 years... Holywood Legend! Thank you
One of the better interviews I've seen on this channel
Grew up with him all my life from rocky to rambo havent seen tusla king yet but watched all his movies. Love him.
What a great interview, it was clear how much it meant to Jonathan having Sly on the show. 😊
Great interview
Named my son Rocky. Almost 22 years ago.
Watch Samaritan with Sly absolutely 💯 per cent fantastic.
From England UK 🇬🇧
First rocky movie was a master piece..and deserved the Oscar for that year!!.😎
Yea the boxing scene is awesome
The rocky series changed my life. Funny to say but it shaped my childhood in subtle ways. Walked out of the theater, ran home, asked my dad for a punching bag...fast forward 25 years became a black belt, and even today work out every day - and in small ways I attribute this to Rocky even to this day.
In the rest of the world, Rambo is definitely known more than Rocky. Growing up, I thought Stallone’s real name was Rambo.
You know who’s missing in that singing group?
Broccoli Rabe. 😂😂😂
0:32 One of the worlds best. Response to video only.
Surprised people give Rocky 2 low scores, I thought it was the best of them all
Second best after first one.
Rocky 2 is a brilliant sequel. Especially the moment Paulie says to Rocky "Win... Win". Gets me everytime.
@@SirHilaryManfatlol it’s Adrian that says it
First one Is a masterpiece. Rocky Balboa and Creed are nearly masterpieces. The others are crap, more or less.
I love those 70s vibes from this talkshow 🎉🎉
Easy loving lover 😆 🎶
You didn't need the clickbait title to get people to watch this. It wasn't until near the end, when they started talking about Arnie, that I realised they hadn't mentioned him yet.
Anyone remember Over The Top ? "💪" Classic.
Sly and Arnold Are Just Awesomeness!! 👊✊😊
They Are The MAN!! 👍👌💪🎃🍁🎃
That was awesome!
Its crazy how short hair can make you look 10 years younger. Stallone looking good
I'd say 15 years younger
Broadcast date: 15/02/2008.
@@bungobilbo5709hahahaha Ross left the Beeb long time ago. This was my favourite show back then
Sly 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻. Luv his movies
When was this??
So they sung the theme of a Gary Busey film
What a man
Love this man
I really liked both of these guys on this 👍
A little joy goes along way
This guy is an absolute legend
Yes, he certainly is. That’s why he can get guests such as Sylvester Stallone.
My Papa was the manager of the meat processing center in the films at the time the Rocky movies were made.
He said he met Sly but didn’t think much of him since he wasn’t a known actor. He always said how annoying it was during the filming because the crew slowed production.
My Papa ❤️ was a no nonsense man, and he worked hard for his family. He was a boxer in his day and won the golden gloves!
i love that he can give honest ratings for his rocky movies! id agree in general 🥰 I loved Rocky 3 as a kid!
Wonder if anyone has ever asked Sly if he’s seen or would watch Dead Mans Shoes? Great Shane Meadows film and Paddy Considine is excellent. Has a bit of a UK First Blood vibe.
Damn I love Stallone, what a legend
13:48- “Now you knocked him out, why don’t you try knocking me out now”. Reminiscing..
Love this action actor
Sorry Sly but I love #5
There will be many action stars in the future, but there will be no one like Sylvester Stallone
He looks outstanding for his age
It's 16 years old lol
LEGEND...
Sly is an icon. We all watched growing up. An hes right rocky 5 was below standard but balboa was a good end to probably 1 of the best characters in movie history 🎬👏
A legend!
I Never Saw This Interview Before, This Was In 2008 I Think.
Rocky 4 is my favourite from the series.
8:42 😂😂😂
2008 this i believe, love stalone ,, top guy,
He looks great!
I don’t care what anybody say , Stallone is a legend , I never watch a bad movie with him !!!
"the snake is a snake, the bomb is a bomb" - this is how its supposed to be! nothing against CGI, it brought us many, many beautiful cinema moments, but it should only be used as a tool and if absolutely necessary
the most underrated actor
Doppy next
It's great to see stalone when I 1st see rocky with my mates we all went out jogging thrusting punches in front of us lol but I took up karate
I would love to see a demolition man tv show
Rocky 4 is 11 out of 10 for me
I must crush you!!! What a line lol.
@@SylvesterStallone-lm5cn Not sure hannibalsmith has seen your comment but if you're the real Sly I've got a few stories I'm working on currently and a plethora of movie ideas. Some of them are my own and some belong to other authors whom II have read and enjoyed. Just like to say whether you are the real Stallone or not, Sylvester Stallone stuck to his guns and bet it all on himself and won big because he believed. Rocky was an incredible launching pad. I am truly inspired by Stallone's personal story. Thanks for reading and God Bless.
Actually it was I must Break you.@@jamesratliff1803
The original IV or Rocky vs Drago, Stallones Directors Cut?. I think around 31 minutes of the original movie have been replaced with different or extended scenes compared to the original.
I ❤ Tulsa
Legend Sylvester Stallone made some Iconic movies and is always gonna be part of history. 🥊🔥💯
Legend
I loved!
Bona fide legend!!!
Love his sense of humour.
Slys wig looks more believable here.
My Hero!
Rocky IV🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅
He's looking great
[Original Broadcast Date: 15 February 2008]
is this recent or an older show?
2008
that's what i thought cause sly looks much younger. i met him in 2016.@@bakingdoughkruseandersson
You back as rocky in 2 creed movies?
Bet you Sly sent Johnathan a classy box of cigars 😊
Seems like a great guy. Rambo 1 was genuis
He's since played Rocky in films where he trains Apollo Creed's kid, his recent show 'Tulsa King' is good but is making me wait for episodes.
Jonathan Ross is a big movie nerd/guy. I think he was a bit starstruck/nervous in this interview/conversation
Stallone the man the legend
The cry baby manchild
When your so cool and famous you can dress down and still look the best in the room.
I agree. I don't like to leave home at my age anymore because everything is just annoying. My kids can live with me forever too. I don't need to know everything they do or micro manage them but it's comforting just to have them in the same house. I can't even comprehend people that want to rush their kids to move out.
Liking non American Talk Show Hosts. Best we’ve had since
Carson, Leno, Kilborn, Hall are you guys
Sylvesta us looking younger and more healthier than he has ever done.
This is from 2008
😂😂😂😂😂😂2008 mate
Damn. We don't get Tulsa King here 😡😡🇦🇺💕
Rocky 1 - 12
Rocky 2 - 8
Rocky 3 - 7
Rocky 4 - 7
Rocky 5 - 5... Damn it..
Rocky 1 ,10 out of 10 Rocky 2 ,10 out of 10 Rocky 3 ,9 out of 10 Rocky 4 ,10 out of 10 my favourite one 🥊 Rocky 5 ,4 out of 10 Balboa 4 out of 10
To me, Rocky IV was the definitive staple
The most iconic
it seems to me, that genius has oozed out of some over the years.
Yet recently more and more, not as much.
I hear of movie after movie flopping.
Big strong names.
I know that some cheer.
It breaks my heart.
Love sly but his shoes are amusing. The lifts are crazy
Imagine if sylvester staying played the joker in batman....... smiling now try and sleep
He looks a bit like Tony Curtis
Sylvester Stallone 🙏🏾
Superstitious graffiti l
17:05 You're welcome.
Wonderful E💕🇦🇺
Wambo and wocky
If Sylvester Stallone do make Rocky 7 his opponent should be Mike Tyson Roy Jones Jr or Canelo Álvarez I think that'll be something to watch 🥊🔥
Love Sly..
Who's this Ross? Not sure why youtube recommended his show...
