We actually met many fellow budget travellers on this trip when diving with Tarzan Dive Shop, and they really enjoyed it (many staying >2 weeks at homestays). I guess it varies from individual to individual but it wasn’t quite for us 😅
@@darienandjoannaDarien, I'm sorry to ask... Why are you huffing and puffing throughout this trip, mate? You are still a strapping young man, n I bet you've completed your mandatory military service... But you sound almost like me, a pudgy, physically unfit 50-yr-old wench while climbing up the stairs to the viewing point of Kepulauan Raja Ampat. Pace yourself, put some bamboo charcoal to whatever hotel/guesthouse room you stay at... The air in Indonesia is quite muggy n polluted though I can't imagine it being any less humid than Singapore
We just came back from Raja Ampat and had a great time in a homestay, no air con, no fan, shared bathroom and toilet, but we knew that before we booked. You are obviously very young, inexperienced travellers, the best advice I can give you is do your research !
raja ampat is about the nature and diving site! it's better if you go with a liveaboard than a homestay because the area is super remote (as its intended for conservation) to the nearest supplies city. it can be so much cheaper with a boat since you're living with other people
We spent almost 10 millions rupiah at 2018 for almost 10 days there (yes we had leaking homestay, and we managed went further to misool island) included kali biru , BUT without diving, i think that cost really a lot...
This guys does not sound really experienced. If you go Raja Ampat on a budget, you go with your own snorkel equipment and take a home stay with a house reef, where you fibd everything under the water. Thats the way to travel Raja Ampat!
@@ickeselbst272 Yes, ideally, bring along your own snorkel equipments. We travel long-term, so snorkel gear isn’t realistic to bring in our backpacks. Our homestay had great house reef but snorkel equipment provided was mouldy
if you are not willing to spend money on accommodations for at least a dive resort, yes, it’ll probably better not to visit Raja Ampat. Because the home stays are not the best. We learnt this lesson and paid 12 million for our 4 hour dive trip (highly recommended with Olin Dive Shop) because we didn’t want to potentially sacrifice our time at Raja Ampat for a budget and bad value experience.
raja ampat is not for budget traver

Kali Biru literally means Blue Stream. Kali = River or Stream in Javanese

Good video!!! Thanks for sharing! Can I ask you how much you paid for the Kali Biru trip?
@@mariamarco4970 thanks Maria, happy you enjoyed it! We paid 500k rupiah for car transport and 300k rupiah for the tour guide (inclusive of tip)

Hi, Why you guys didn’t go to Misool and Karawapop island ?
It was too far for us, so Piaynemo was the furtherest we went! Wayag would’ve been a nice option if we stayed for longer.
I see, i think there is weekly one ferry between Sorong and Misool if i am not wrong?
Kami orang Indonesia malah belum pernah ke raja Ampat karena tiket pesawat yg sangat mahal😢,beruntung sekali kalian

Hi guys, what time of the year your travel to Raja Ampat?
Hi:) we visited in October
why not join an open trip from one of reputable indonesian tour? There are some nice ones outthere with affordable budget too 😊
If you poor don't go there, this place only for rich people😅

What I expected. U guys are just on the wrong Place go to Bali
Raja ampat is not suit for small budget traveller.
@@KesanterPerwira-nm7fu Perhaps! A lot less comfort on a tighter budget, but to each his own :)
