Great Video I SUBSCRIBED....can you please tell me how much it costed for the month, how many dives you did and total cost of staying in raja ampat for a month
@@susancoelho8765 Thanks! The prices might have changed since we were there. You can ask your homestay for a pricelist. Stayrajaampat.com has a lot of information about the islands and will give you some indication of the prices. You can also check methoshomestay.com. We only went freediving/snorkeling 🙂
Finally! Finally a video that doesn’t look exactly the same as every other damn video out there. You know the type - the compulsory slow motion shots, someone waving their hand through swaying rice or wheat, the model who just so happens to be the videographer’s girlfriend (ass in every other shot), horrible EDM, etc. What may have been lacking in huge amounts of money spent on the absolute best equipment and editing was so much more than made up for by keeping it simple and just showing a clearly wonderful trip you had. I loved it! I was there 10 years ago. Traded my bicycle with a kepala desa as collateral for his outrigger. Used it for a few weeks to paddle over to Mansuar from Waigeo and then back over the channel to paddle around Gam. It was just starting to see the burgeoning homestay economy. I brought my tent, thinking I’d camp on the beach since the only other option was high so diving resorts. While I definitely camped when I could, the homestays were a welcome surprise. Amazing food and amazing people who really seemed to care about their homeland and the ocean. Needless to say, it was a hard place to leave. I found my bike exactly as I left it, forced the village chief to accept some cash for the use of his boat, and cycled back to Waisai with a heavy heart. Ferry boat to Sorong and flight out of Papua. The end of a four-month finale to a two-year adventure across the archipelago. Haven’t been back to Papua since, which makes me quite sad. Your video, however, captured the spirit of the place and my memory of it so nicely. And without all the clichéd nonsense. It was as welcome a surprise, as fresh a breath of air as finding those hidden homestays. And that’s really the word for a travel video like this: refreshing. No glam. You let the place do the talking for itself, rather than a bunch of clichés. If there was ever to be a new trend to supplant the current one, I hope videos like this are what it’s modeled after. Honesty, simplicity, and letting the place itself do the talking. Thanks so much for sharing your adventure and bringing back so many wonderful memories!
Was in RA 10 days in march 2015 with my gfriend and stay in Kri island in Yenkoranu homestays and was truely magical. Hard to beat that, sunsets were truely awesome. Very nice video, brings back memories.

Thank you! Our guide told us where (and where not) to swim because a saltwater crocodile took up residence in The Passage a couple of years ago. They have been seen at a couple of other places in Raja Ampat as well. I'd like to see one, but not while snorkeling :D
Is it the Lenmakana Jelly Lake or is this a different one? Because I saw a lot of snorkelers in photos of Lenmakana Jelly Lake, but the jellyfish also look different, more golden.
Thank you! I would really recommend Methos. We just came back from another month at Methos and it was amazing. Just like last time. I'm already working on the next video. It might be done before you leave so you can see for yourself. Tell Methos I said hi! :)
Beautiful. So sad that the projected world population is going to be almost 10 billion by 2050 and we can't seem to get our pollution and over crowding under control with 7.8 billion right now. I hope by 2050 there are still beautiful places to visit. Hopefully even more than there are now if we can restore some of the places we have ruined. And of course that people can afford to travel in eco friendly ways.
fantastic vide0 thank you, couple of questions, what month did you stay? did you have a dive light to video underwater to enhance those stunning colours? i am prone to seasickness, how far is it to see the mantas? is it rough seas? what drone did you take? what underwater camera {go pro9?} thank you again.
Thanks! We stayed in february. I did have a dive light, but only used it at night. Mantapoint is in between Arborek and Mansuar, not that far from Methos. The sea is pretty calm in the morning. I used a gopro on my drone and underwater.
We went there last year. It reminds me so much of Coron, El Nido, Tubbataha, and some sandbars in Balabac in Palawan, and also the limestones and stingless jellyfish of Sohoton Cove in Siargao when we were in the Philippines!💗 It's amazing how this part of the world has the same geographical formations. Planning to travel around Thailand, Philippines, and Vietnam again this year :)
Why not come to indonesia as a foreigners i suggest you to come to this country... There is no single country on earth that can match the biodiverse lifes here
@Nisscha Rostislav As I said, I already visited that place and other places in Indonesia though some of them are very far apart. It's part of the Coral Triangle but it's not the center. The Philippines actually is the center of the Coral Triangle. We scuba-dived in Tubbataha and I can say that Phillippines really is the center of the Coral Triangle.
We stayed on Gam (and travelled from there), but there are many more beautiful islands. We chose this island because it was near a lot of the places we wanted to see. You can check out the website StayRajaAmpat for information about all the main islands.
I suggest you to watch ( this is raja ampat) 4k diving into biodiversity dream... n maybe after u can send email to the content creator of that video because after watch her footage inside raja ampat i do believe that she already visit all of the best diving spot in raja ampat

Of all the oceans in the world, about 70% of the underwater charm is in Raja Ampat 🇮🇩😍⛵
The percentage you've given is incorrect. It's Not the center of the Coral Triangle.
