Something this video didn't mention is that months before the Disney acquisition, Sony was set to lose the Spider-Man movie rights to Marvel since they hadn't produced a new movie in a couple of years. To save themselves some time, Sony offered the Spidey TV rights back to Marvel. So, even if Disney hadn't purchased Marvel, Spectacular Spider-Man still would've been cancelled.
Every thing I love gets canceled. I could name several shows but this is my number one. Every time I rewatch it, it just upsets me a little more each time cause I want more and know I’m never going to get more.
Knowing that the voice actor of Spectacular Spider Man is very much so interested and passionate about the character, it is likely. However, it's been well over 10 years since it ended, I doubt that it could ever come back fully, only making a cameo here and there
If X-Men 97 can come back. Then hopefully they can bring back The Spectacular Spider-Man show. Since the fans still want it and Josh Keaton is still up for more. The main reason why I want it back is to finally see the relationship between Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson done justice in animation. Especially knowing that this MJ actually knows that Peter is Spidey. Just like in the comic. MJ saw Peter climb out of his window as Spider-Man when Uncle Ben was killed. This is why she's never angry at Peter for taking off. Why she is so defensive of him. Likr when Eddie was insulting Peter and when Mark was trying to unknowingly trying to kill Peter. It would have been interesting to see how this MJ would tell Peter that she's known this whole time. MJ tells Peter about her backstory and her abusive father. That's why she's so carefree. Just like Peter she hides who she really is in her own mask. Afterwards Peter tells her that he's sorry for what happened to her. MJ tells him it's fine and he's the first person she's ever told. Peter pulls her in for a hug. They pull their heads away and they lock eyes. Without thinking they kiss. Because it's been confirmed that these two were going to get married at the end of the series. Josh Keaton said that Gwen lost faith in Spider-Man even though he saved her life many times. This is what could lead to Peter and MJ getting together without Gwen dying. Gwen leaves after finding out that Peter is Spidey. There's so many other things that would have been fun to see. That they were going to do. Like Spider-Man having his car, Peter and Flash in a boxing match, finding out how Peter makes his web 🕸️ fluid and finding out about Peter's parents. Something most don't do. I love the irony that Peter's mum and his soulmate have the same first name. I would love it if MJ brought this up. We would also find out why Peter and Flash stopped being best friends. Love to see Harry get what's coming to him. He's nothing more than a pathetic wimp and lowlife who's desperate for attention. Lots of villians we were going to see. The Jackel, Hob Goblin, Carnage, Morbious, Prowler and King Pin. Of course seeing the old bad guys come back as well. The main one being the return of Norman Osborne the Green Goblin and his final showdown with Peter Parker/ The Spectacular Spider-Man. It would have been interesting if Black Cat found out that her dad killed Spider-Man's Uncle Ben and maybe have a temporary romantic relationship before she breaks up with him. Like in the comics. So many things. I can see the jaws of his classmates especially Sally and Flash dropping if Peter showed up with Felicia Hardy has his girlfriend. It would be nice if JJ Jameson is forced to do a public announcement of why he hates Spider-Man. It would be interesting if Peter's Aunt May and MJ's Aunt Anna died and they would have to make it on their own. I would love it if the final scene of The Spectacular Spider-Man show is Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Mary Jane Parker together with their daughter. Anna May Parker/Spiderling. Who knows maybe we could see Mary Jane become Spinneret like in The Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows. So many things that could have been and still could happen. With the fans craving for it more than ever, the return of X-Men 97 and Josh Keaton who voices Spider-Man is still up for it. I hope Marvel, Disney and Sony can work something out and make it happen. The Spectacular Spider-Man is my favourite Superhero show and favourite TV show of all time. It's got the best Superhero and Spider-Man theme song ever. Let's make it happen.

It's clear they're interested in each other. Looking back on the series. MJ is really the only true friend that Peter has. She's the only one who knows what he does on a daily basis. She knows what it's like to hide who you are from everyone else. Because if you know that her father was abusive to MJ's mum, her sister and MJ herself. Her sister got married and fell apart after she had two children. That's why she told Peter that she doesn't want a serious relationship. Because she has seen too many failed relationships in her family. I don't know if they have her sister Gayle in The Spectacular Spider-Man. But they definitely have her dad. So it would have been interesting to see MJ tell Peter this. MJ figured that she knows Peter's biggest secret. It's only fair that he knows her biggest secret. It could lead to their first kiss. The whole SpiderVerse appearance didn't make sense to me because Spectacular Spider Man would totally pick Miles's side instead of Miguels, which implies Capt. Stacy probably died for him to have such a change in character.
@nimbus77 yeah I only heard about it in a Greg Weismann interview but I've never seen spider verse, was it actually confirmed as being the reason in the film? If not I suppose this confirms at least one of Greg Weismann's plans. The closest thing to a Spectacular continuation was a crossover script reading with Gargoyles by all the voice actors, where I think the only thing I remember from it was Harry giving everyone tickets for Florida, just like the planned DVD film
Well, the reason why Spectacular Spider Man didn't pick Miles's side is because the story introduced the concept of a "cannon event" which is a pivotal point every Spider-Man has to go through. For most it was Uncle Ben and for Miles it would've been his dad. However, Miles finds out through that that his father is going to die and decides to try and prevent it from happening, that's where Spectacular Spidey steps in with all the other Spider-Men telling him that it's something that needs to happen, which felt so out of character for Spectacular Spider-Man, he is the last Spidey who would let someone die, no matter if it fucks up the timeline or not.

Because ever since I saw episode 25 and 26 back on 2009, I was very sad & pissed that the show ended up very badly with an anticlimactic ending! And I really hope that Spider-Man from Earth-26496 will find a way to make Felicia Hardy the Black Cat forgive him of his selfish revenge on her father; Walter Hardy the Cat Burglar. Cause I realized that in the grand calculus of the Multiverse, all the Ben Parkers that said to his nephew Peter “With great power, there must also come great responsibility” and that’s on the day he died. Witch means his Uncle Ben didn’t die for nothing. And I really love this version of Black Cat on The Spectacular Spider-Man, because she’s so scolding hot!
