Shoutout to / madfishmusic - who are releasing a new 19 CD box set in December 2024 - Check them out. (they also released the box set I mention in the video)
Thanks everyone for your amazing comments AND pointing out my stupid pronunciation and spelling errors !! I was kind of aware once rewatching the video but not much to do about it now 😊At the very least hopefully some of you have been newly (reminded ) introduced to this incredible artist. Thanks all
In my opinion the greatest songwriter, composer & ... of all time! And pianoplayer too! This VOICE is out of this world! I have all of her albums & many of her incredible live recordings! The new Stockfish is goegeous. Thanks & greetings from Würzburg/Germany. I would buy a record from her, when she spoke the telephonebook from New York!
Couldn't agree more!
She was a remarkable artist. We lost her way to early. I always loved the song "Eli's Comin." Thank you for shining a light on this amazing woman.
Agree!! Thank you
I grew up hearing her songs on New York area radio. We've had that 2nd Columbia LP for years. She was so talented. He early death was so tragic.
Oh you must have been lucky. How wonderful.
Excellent video. Appreciate the deep dive on this amazing songwriter and singer. She was invited to be the lead singer for Blood Sweat and Tears, after Al Kooper left the group, but she turned them down. Besides the groups mentioned she wrote many of the big hits for the 5th Dimension. I have all of the albums that you featured and really don’t have a favorite other than the trilogy as a collective grouping. Well done.
Thanks. I understand she’d been in a short relationship with the guitarist ?)) of BS&T so the familiarity with the band and music was a lot. So good she didn’t decide to. I love that band as is!
i completely agree with you,
My girl friend in college took me to a concert in Seattle terrific! 1970/ 1971. Everyone knows her songs. Few know her name. I wouldn’t except for that happenstance. Grateful!
Wow lucky you. You’re gf had great taste clearly 😊
Thank you for this wonderful video. I discovered Laura Nyro almost 3 years ago at the age of 62, can’t believe I’d never heard her before. Her voice is the most beautiful I had ever heard and in my opinion Laura is the greatest singer songwriter and I have all of her albums, CDs, the box set and my apartment is adorned with Laura posters. A 19 CD collection is being released next month for those like myself that can’t get enough. I appreciate you spreading the word about Laura, so tragic how cancer claimed the life of this beautiful soul at only 49 years old.
Oh wait- yes! Of course i have just found that new box set!. I wish it was being released on vinyl?
Love this. Yes, Laura is the best.
You are correct Janet! Nyro had many changing in one song some like her thoughts with the lyrics, piano, sounds of singing -
3 octaves all within One Song, 🎼🎹🩷💔💽🎤🌈💥
anyone who starts a song with..."can you surrey?....can you picnic?...." is always tops in my book.....
Excellent point 😂
I've been in love with her music since I was 16. I'm 71 now and still listen to her.
Fantastic
I'm 72, same.
Same here. First heard her when I was 18. Am now 73 and she has been the music of my life.
I was lucky to see Laura perform at The Bottom Line in NYC several times in the 1980s, she was much revered by her audiences and a lovely, gracious performer.
I bet she was revered!! That’s amazing. Unfortunately she never made it down under to not so well known. Thanks !!❤
The story that I heard was, Nyro went into an office at Columbia that had a piano. She sat down, weather Columbia suits and played the entire "Eli" album. Naturally, she got the gig.
"Elly" (EL-LEE) where do you spelled with two L's, not one..
@@DanieltheTruebadourThanks!
Cool. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Saw her back in the early 1970's, then in LA, 1990's the Lighthouse in Redondo Beach, the Mayfair Music Hall in Santa Monica; gone way too soon. Such a seminal talent, lyricist, musician, and so underrated.
Amazing
Laura Nyro was an amazing unsung composer who's music was recorded by such luminaries as Barbra Streisand, The 5th Dimension, B.S. and T. and many many more. Her influence on pop music cannot be underestimated.
It really can’t be underestimated!
After seeing your video yesterday, I had a listen to Eli and the Thirteenth Confession, and was immediately stunned by her music and vocal performance. It's become one of my favourite records overnight. Thank you so much for this great video. Can't believe I never knew about Laura Nyro before.
Fantastic!!
I love Laura Nyro. I've heard all her albums. Of course I knew her name and the songwriting hits, but maybe about 20 years ago I chanced upon hearing 'Buy and Sell' on a satellite radio show and I soon bought her first two albums on CD. Immensely under recognized artist.
Thanks for your words. She’s amazing isn’t she
Great video Kate , My first record by Laura Nyro is with Labelle , then started collecting more of her records, Such a wonderful voice. Also Three Dog night recording some of her songs as well as the 5th Dimension. There is also a new box set coming out soon I was reading about .
A newer box set than the one I mention in my video?
@@cordesrecords yes there is a new one Hear My Song: The Collection 1966-1995 - 19CD Deluxe Box Se coming out in December called i have looked at there lots of music on it. the box you have looks great .
it's only coming out on CD's format right now. I saw it on Amazon Canada web site. I am sure it would be on all there site's.
It was her spellbinding performance of Poverty Train at Monterey which I saw on a YT video that sparked everything for me a year or so back. Can't get enough of Nyro now: most recently got the Bottom Line live LP, so intimate.
I haven’t got that one yet. But wow what a live performance at Monterey!
I got to see her at the Paramount in Oakland. I was obsessed.
Wow that’s amazing
I agree! Laura was the best! Her songs define my high school years and still tug at my heart strings to this day. ❤
Her voice and her compositions far surpassed the other female vocalists/songwriters of the day. A truly gifted human being. ❤
agree!! Truly gifted
I love Laura Nero since 1977.78...love brown earth..my. favorite song.of hers...people don't give her credit that she deserves
I got Nyro’s 1st album and everyone she made. She finally moved to Danbury, CT.
I used to sit above small river hoping to see Laura.
One day I was walking out of a big store and there was Laura Nyro standing with about 6 friends- I froze, couldn’t speak, we looked for 4-5 minutes- each was not able not move, talk…
The friends had her move-I was still frozen, unable to move…
Loved her. 2 months ago I went to where she made albums in her studio, was still sad.
PS Nyro was more important and first than most woman artists and singers…
I know more than anyone I know.
Ken
What a beautiful story Ken
I love her - I put her music in my independent film 'South of Hope Street'.
That’s amazing. Anywhere I can watch that film?
Thank you, I'm ashamed to say I'd never heard of Laura Nyro. Checking her out on spotify and loving Laura's music.
No worries!
Had her first album on vinyl. Hardly forgotten!
That’s great. !
Totally agree with you. Saw her twice Royal Festival Hall 1971 and later at Union Chapel years later, both in London. Interesting site. Best .Roy Wilbraham
You lucky man!
Great channel Katie. Keep up the good work.
Thanks David
Much thanks for bringing back some good memories and the biography of an under-the-radar artist ... upvoted and subscribed.
True! Thanks for watching
A wonderful and informed critical introduction, I think I'll share this to my friends, who could learn more.
Thank you
She was a super fav of my sisters, and luckily, I got to collect her albums and see her several times. Small clubs in lower NYC clubs. Original first outputs: The first songs, eli (e lie) and the thirteen confession, smiles, nested, new york tendaberry and seasons of light.
Another. Super episode.
Thanks Jim. What a special life you’ve had! I can’t believe you’ve see. Her live. My goodness!
Thanks for alerting me to this excellent songwriter - very glad to have been introduced!
Thanks for watching!
There is probably no single artist more admired and influential across music genres within the music industry. For example, she is the favourite artist of both Alice Cooper and Barry Manilow ("ahead of Chopin"). Stephen Schwartz, writer of Godspell, Pippin and recently Wicked, cites Laura as a major influence. Stephen Sondheim called Stoned Soul Picnic (1968) a perfect song. The "carpenter's wife" in Dylan's Tangled Up in Blue is a reference to Laura - when Dylan first met her the first thing he said is "I love what you do". Miles Davis was dropping in to the Columbia studio in Manhattan to say hello when she was recording New York Tendaberry - he was her support act at a few shows at the Fillmore East in June 1970. Roy Halee (Simon and Garfunkel, etc), who produced Tendaberry, said that she was the best that he ever worked with in an interview in Uncut magazine in recent years. I believe that the Paul Stanley quote is "I listen to that stuff incessantly". Walter Becker's (Steely Dan) favourite song on Eli was Women's Blues. In an interview with Rolling Stone a few years ago, Donald Fagen stated that Laura influenced them to be more experimental. Several musicians on Eli went on to play for Steely Dan, such as Chuck Rainey, Hugh McCracken and Paul Griffin. Laura features heavily in the doco Inventing David Geffen, from about 2012. David McComb from the legendary Australian band The Triffids was influenced by Laura. Joni references the themes of Laura's Stoned Soul Picnic and lyrics "dust and gold' in Woodstock, both songs being metaphors for a spiritual quest. Laura was also influenced by Debussy and jazzers like John Coltrane. The intro of her Coffee Morning, an out-take from 1967, borrows a bit of Peace Piece by Bill Evans. Streisand's hit with Stoney End reinvigorated her declining career from which she never looked back.Even the USA Army Band covered Laura.
OMG you are an insane walking encyclopaedic expert on Laura Nyro. My aim (and I hope this comment helps a LOT) was to get the people who don’t know who she is, to learn more! Thank you so much for filling out the details in such an extensive way. You are a legend!
@cordesrecords Thanks, lol. I only found her in 2015, became totally enamoured and been learning about her ever since. Cheers.
What is the source of your info about Bob Dylan and Laura Nyro
@kevinperrier7274 Deduction. Dylan first met Nyro at a party thrown by Clive Davis for Janis Joplin where they retired to a side room to chat. In the early 70's, Nyro married a Vietnam Vet and carpenter, David Bianchini.
@@lupcokotevski2907 I thought maybe you found the info in Michele Kort's book about her.
Love all the info , salutations from San Antonio Texas
Thanks for watching!
i appreciated your karen dalton video, your favorite jazz live albums video and others but it is with this video that you have my full attention!!! goodness gracious-laura nyro!!!
How good is Laura Nyro. Just wow. Thank you.
Thank you for the recommendation.
You’re welcome. Enjoy.
Thank you Katie for another brilliant video. I only own 1 Nyro lp, but have been looking for the covers lp for years. I will look into the box set, it does look amazing.
Please continue with your inspirational channel. Well done.
Thanks Dennis. The live album is so fun! The box set is 💯 worth it.
I want to thank you very very much for doing this. What a wonderful artist, and I agree with your choice of best album
Yay!! Pleased you agree! And thank you.
I have had Christmas and the Beads of Sweat for 50 years more or less. The record got lost decades ago and it wasn’t until TH-cam did get to hear it again.
Amazing!
A singular talent............a force of nature!
A great introduction to Laura Nyro's career. My own favourites are Smile, and Nested, both very jazz influenced. Been on a Train (from Christmas and a bead of Sweat) is on of the rawest songs you'll ever hear.
Thanks. !
Laura Nyro is brillant. Most female singer-songwriters stand on her shoulders. Laura Nyro Tress Of The Ages: Live In Japan is her finest LP. It is her and a piano. There is no place to hide. Her talent is prodigious, especially on this LP. No wonder why so many artists revere her to this day. She was truly beyond her time.
Once during a staff meeting at work, my department head, knowing that I was a big music fan, asked me if I knew of Laura Nyro. She then revealed that she was her cousin! Her maiden name was Nigro, which was Laura Nyro’s real name. Later that same day, I received a record in the mail, and when I opened the parcel, what did I see but Laura Nyro’s face on the Eli & the 13th Confession album! I hadn’t ordered that album, but the sender had included it as an extra. Spooky coincidence!
Wow that’s an incredible
I love Laura: truly an original artist and a great human being. The trilogy albums are all first-rate, but I think 'Smile' is wonderful too...very underrated.
Yes. A little more mature maybe?? And she would have been listening to Joni’s jazz era at the time.
Yes, I def know who Laura is. The new box set is sooooo great! Finally, all of Laura's music, except one live album I believe, in one collection. About Larua's getting some recognition.
How good !!
I had long suspected that Eva Cassidy and Laura Nyro would have been aware of each others music. I was lucky enough to contact Michele Kort and also people who knew Eva. Srangely I was informed that neither was aware of the other. How odd as to my thinking they were both able to internalize the language of music and create original statements within the singer/songwriter genre - though Eva was mostly an interpreter.
I thought I had responded to this sorry. Amazing story and so u fortunate they never knew of each other. Imagine!!
@@cordesrecords BTW - If you haven't heard Billy Childs' Map To The Treasure: Reimagine Laura Nyro - it gets a rave thumbs up from me. Also don't miss his live recording of this album with hr BigBand (both available on TH-cam). Thanks once again for a terrific video.
Thanks for this Video! I first heard her Song ‘Gibsom Street’ on a Compilation Album (Was it called ‘That’s Underground’? It was released on Columbia Records (or CBS at it was called in my area in Europe) and i was absolutely hooked by this Song, and rushed to the record store to grab her Albums. 30 Years later i met Percussionist Carter C.C. Collins in Vienna who told me stories of being on the road with her on the tour that was documented on ‘Seasons of Light’.20 Years later I now have bought all her Albums again on CD and keep listening to them over and over.
Thanks for sharing that story. So interesting. ❤
I enjoyed this, Katie. Thanks.
Thank you
Very informative video Katie. I only discovered Laura Nyro 6 months ago following a friend's recommendation. I'm now a fan and I'm working my way through her discography.
Thanks Michael
I have been listening to Laura since the late 1960s. She and Joni Mitchell are my top of the top. Laura is amazing. Her voice, compositions, lyrics and style are unique and beautiful. Joni once said you cannot put her (Joni's) music in any pigeonhole, except she would agree to be put in a pigeonhole with Laura. Absolutely love Laura. So passionate.
Thank you
There is a terrific photo of the two of them together giggling together. TWO GIANTS
Laura Nyro was an enigma. A brilliant song writer and a superb singer and in December 1969 three of her pieces made the Billboard Top Ten, an incredible achievement for someone so young. As well at one time she was drop dead gorgeous. Television, Hollywood and Broadway all wanted her but she turned them all down. Instead when she turned 24, disgusted by the whole music industry she just walked away. She would make a few comebacks but would soon after return to her hideout in the Connecticut woods until she passed away in April 1997. She was only 49 years old. Still had a lot of music in her.
Enigma is a good word
I have Christmas and the Beads of Sweat excellent album
It’s my fave of that trilogy
Found her a few years ago and am amazed. Most interestingly she influenced my all time hero Todd Rungren who was asked to lead a band for her. He name checks her on Baby Let's Swing, Runt 1970.
Oh does he? That’s cool. Did you see my video all the way through? What do you think of the Todd Rundgren Healing I showed. I’m a bit challenged by it?
Thank you. I've been a fan of hers for decades, and hurt her perform in the Venetian room at the Fairmont in San Francisco. I gave her a cassette of my own music so perhaps she has heard me too.
I wish we could have a conversation about her lyrics. She was absolutely extraordinary, and I Revere her.
I cannot say for sure, but ever since I got her album Eli and the 13th confession, I always thought it was E--lie (as in Manning). ("Lie" rhyming with "my.")
You know I think you are right about the “Eli” pronounce. And it would make sense. What a wonderful idea she may have heard your music.😊
Yes, she was great. As a music writer I feel she was influencial to many.. imcluding me. I loved her singing voice too.
Thanks for sharing
I have that album, the red one with the rose on the cover. I think I bought it around 1971 upon the recommendation of a girl who liked Laura Nyro. The girl told me that Nyro was a "heroin freak but a genius song writer."
😂
Wonderful artist, lovely human being. Saw her only once. My fav is Eli, but New York Tendaberry
Check out her album, Gonna Take a Miracle with Labelle. Thanks Katie
Thanks. I mention the album in the video. Have a watch ;) Thanks and take care.
Yes I know who she is I have 7 of her albums on vinyl
You win!;)
My favorite female artist. Eli LP my favorite non Beatles LP. Cried when I saw her live, late 70s.
Cool
I saw her at the Academy of Music. When she died I had a dream that she dictated an entire album to me, most of which I remembered and wrote down, put in a Manila envelope titled “Laura Nyro’s Posthumous Album”. Who knows where it is today! She was a genius if ever there was one…
Omg that that is one of the strangest things I’ve heard! Were you at the academy at the time?
I believe Laura was a big influence on Todd Rundgren - great that you're doing this video!
So huge. Although that Todd Lp I show at end of video is something wild!
@@cordesrecords - sorry I commented before I got up to the part where you mention Todd - I couldn't stop myself, I must be more patient! haha. I love the "Pirates" album by Ricki Lee Jones, great to see you bring that into the discussion, I feel like it might be a bit of an over looked masterpiece?
Great channel, Laura Nyro is my fave female artist period...her 1993 album "Walk The Dog & Light The Light" is one of her best...im from Long Island, NY btw...just got her new career spanning 19CD boxset "Hear My Song: 1966-1995", on Madfish...has a stunning 90 page hardcover coffeetable book that blows away the booklet in the vinyl box if you ask me...
I'm very keen to pick taht up myself!! Shipping to Australia a bit costly!! ;)
@cordesrecords i can imagine, i think its 10 pounds, 12x12, it blows the vinyl box away if you ask me...also i saw your best-of list, its cool...just did my list...Top 100 with 25 runnerups...i will give you my Top 10 for now...#10: Charli XCX "Brat" (including the 3 bonus tracks & remix disc), #9: Dwight Yoakam "Brighter Days", #8: Pet Shop Boys "Nonetheless" (plus the CD single bonus tracks), #7: X "Smoke & Fiction", #6: Wendy James (she of Transvision Vamp fame) "The Shape of History", #5: The Mavericks "Moon & Stars", #4: Beyonce "Cowboy Carter [Complete]", #3: Taylor Swift "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology", #2: The Cure "Songs Of a Lost World" & #1: Redd Kross "Redd Kross [The Redd Album]"...my whole list is on my Facebook page...
The album Laura Live At The Bottom Line is such a good album. It has several newer songs and also the standards in a full band setting. I really like the newer songs Companion, Roll Of The Ocean and Japanese Restaurant.
Hey thanks for sharing. 😊
Carol King was writing hits long before Laura hit the scene. Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow was recorded by The Shirelles in 1960.
Thanks for clarifying.
Laura was influenced by Carole King's writing, yes. When Carole King became an artist/ performer in her own right, Lou Adler gave her Laura Nyro albums to listen to. So, Laura influenced Carole as well.
One of my favorite artists from your area was the late great Billy Thorpe
A legend
I really enjoyed your video because for over 50 years I have held the view that the albums released by Laura Nyro 's represented the finest body of work by a singer/songwriter in popular music and it's always nice to have one's opinions reinforced !
I cannot really add anything to what you have said except to ask if you are familiar with the album released by the jazz/classical pianist Billy Childs called "Map to the Treasure - Re-imagining Laura Nyro"? It was released in 2016 and features 10 of Laura's songs from the first 4 albums performed by jazz musicians and guest vocalists including Wayne Shorter, Rickie Lee Jones, Alison Krauss and Shaun Colvin. I think it is a testament to Laura's musicality that a "serious" musician like Childs should love her music so much that he felt the need to record this tribute. Jazz is a prominent element in Laura's music and I think it's a great pity the she never got to hear this album which was awarded a Grammy for best arrangements, instrumental and vocals. I'm sure Billy Childs would agree that the songwriter was more deserving of the award.
I am running to buy that album now. Thanks for the recommendation.
Vinnie Cusano played guitar on Laura's Nested album. He later became a member of KISS for awhile, as Vinnie Vincent.
Oh great info. Thanks man!
I think Kate Bush is another who had been influenced by Laura. It is hard to believe Kate hadn't listened to 'Captain For Dark Mornings".
That is such an excellent observation.
Totally agree. There's no doubt about It. Love this two genious
Love Laura! The most Nyro-influenced record I've heard has gotta be Lotti Golden's 'Motor-Cycle' (1969), maybe you've come across it? The songwriting isn't on Nyro's level but it's a wild, rock-operatic ride.
Wow. To be honest I don’t know it!! Thanks for recco!!
@@cordesrecords It's streamable these days :) Another of those '60s/'70s ladies who fell through the cracks. Guess she was a bit hard to promote... loooonnng songs, lotsa drug references.
I did 😮hear oh her, she was a great singer, songwriter,I think she wrote “ stone cold picnic “ I could be mistaken about her name
That’s her!
nero is beautifully mentioned in one episode.
A CBS Television show about a college professor
Oh cool
Eli & The 13th Confession was released in 1968. New York Tendaberry was released in 1969. On the later album cover Laura is sitting on her terrace of her upper west side apartment.
Thank you for the info!
I was hoping to hear some music.
Little bit at end. But you could stream her?
Are you familiar with the song about Laura that was recorded by Todd Rundgren when he went under the band name of Runt? The song is called 'Baby Let's Swing'. She and Todd were friends and also worked together.
Thanks! I will check it out
Nicely done. It's pronounced E-Lie by the way
Yes! Thank you.
I do hear Laura's influence on Rickie Lee Jones. I hear it on Pirates, but the title song on Rickie's album The Magazine really reminds me of Laura Nyro's influence.
Oh you are right about The Magazine! I’m going to check that out again. Thanks!
FYI It is Eee Lie not Elly! Thank you.. Great review/reaction.
Yeah I know!!! My brain was not working the entire video!! And Eli is such a different name you don’t hear often in Australia. Thanks for pointing out though.
And of course Eli was a big hit for Three Dog Night.
Oh yes! Completely neglected to mention that… thanks !!
Carole king was never influenced by Laura Nyro, even as talented as Laura Nyro was, because Carole king, along with her then husband, Gerry Goffn, were one of the top songwriting teams during the 1960s with dozens of international hits including a top 20 hit for Carole king herself. The song was called " It might as well rain until September ". The song released in 1962, even peaked at number 3 on the british/ uk charts.
Carole King lived near a mountain small lake also in Danbury,CT. A road named “King”
Thanks for your comment David. That is true - Carole clearly came before Laura, - Although Carole King has said that she in return was influenced by Laura Nyro when she came on the scene - a mutal admiration society. Both brilliant artists.
@@keniberg Wonder if they ever met
A question: I have all the original issues! Is there any need/reason for me to buy the reissue-represses? Roy Wilbraham ps How is your Tim Hardin overview coming along?
Laura played at Monterey in 1967... She never made the film due to being 'difficult'.... She did end up on the deluxe edition...
Yeah! Sad.
Have you done anything on Judee Sill? She also has a Geffen connection, and she’s a remarkable songwriter.
I’m thinking of it. It feels like now I’ve down Karen Dalton, Laura Nyro I need to do a couple of others eventually.
Judee Sill was a very talented songwriter and singer who David Geffen hoped to replace Laura Nyro with. However when Ms Sill started making derogatory comments about Mr Geffen's sexuality he fired her on the spot and Ms Sill found herself black balled by the industry. She died soon after from a drug overdose
@@samkohen4589 She was frustrated by his lack of promotion of her music. She was bisexual herself.
Great post. Great singer/songwriter. But it is "Eli" not "Elly".
Yeah - brain explosion with the name. Eli is not a very well known name in Australia - SOOOO many people have pointed out my shocking error!! Live and learn.
You know her if you know something about asylum records
Yeah that’s true. I’m hoping some “casual” music fans will start talking about her music more. It’s a travesty more vinyl channels don’t talk about her don’t you think?
The photo on her first Colombia album looks like she's travelling home from work on the bus. The second one looks like she's come out of work and missed the bus. The third is a drawing by someone halfway into it the drugs that have kicked in. For its period, they miss the market by a mile.
It’s all about perspectives isn’t it? 🤔
BTW Felix Cavaliere is very much Alive!
The story about her and David Geffen is told from HIS point of view. She is not here to tell her side of the story so I don't believe it is accurate. David could be a bully and was well known to wear people down in arguements. Laura's mom didn't like or trust him. But I think she just wanted to stay in NY and David wouldn't take no for an answer. I KNOW Laura would never lie or stab someone in the back. She was very kind and gentle. And David was quite intimidating when he wanted something.
I had those suspicions. At such a young age to still go and resign. With Columbia, was such a smat decision and brave for a young woman. Thanks for your perspective.
Could have been the next Joni….really wonder what actually happened at Monterey?
It’s just so weird the fokelore around that performance. She was so young to be criticised so harshly
I read somewhere that she was actually appreciated by some of the audience. But apparently the boos really hurt her deeply. A real shame @@cordesrecords
Please, it's ee-lie, not elly. Other than that, a great homage to one who has been a favorite of mine since her first beginning.
Yes my humble Australian apologies. !!
A little point, if you had actually listened to the song, you would understand that "Eli's Coming" refers to someone whose name is pronounces, E-Lie, not Elly. It is a reference to the name Elijah, not Elizabeth.
Fair. Yes. Have listened but brain explosion. 😂
Just a shout out about cancer, if you have members of your family who have died from it,go and get check out, catch it early, and save your life.
Unknown? Are you cray-cray?
not cray-cray - but certainly not as musically well read as your fine self. She's almost unknown in Australia.
Hmm, enjoying this but Eli is not Elle, and the LP came out in 68, not 69. Surprised by the work put in that these obvious mistakes were made.
Yeah I know!! I can’t believe it either. I’m dyslexic-(not an excuse). But the amount of mis pronouncing things in my videos is even surprising me!! Must be a brain thing. Thanks for viewing despite the couple of errors mate!
Buy her albums separately, can be gotten for cheap., the box set is of lesser quality.
Good you mention that. I think if you can get box set cheaply it’s a good starter pack! But I’ve heard the remaster is not as good? Thanks for tip. I’m definitely on look out - not so cheap or easy to find in Australia unfortunately!!
Nobody knows??? Don't be ridiculous.
Being dramatic for the TH-cam’s 😂 I know you understand!
Ugh...another proverbial "Nyro is a genius" vid to come out every year. She wrote a lot of songs...ok songs, some were hits but all of them regardless sound dated and affected by the 70s sound. Genius? We really use that word loosly these days.
Wow - you are quite the unicorn in these comments - but appreciate your comment regardless. Who do you think was the top female perform in the era?
