I got the wild idea to color my own, gotta personalize, and im super glad I came across your video first! I was thinking that I was going to need to scuff and paint the mic but using vinyl is such a perfect way to do it with the ability to even change it out later in case your decor changes. My mother has a small side hustle painting and doing vinyl wraps on Yeti cups so I'm sure I could make it a fun way to spend time together. Big big thank you. At first I thought you painted it lol turns out its a wrap a skin so you can revert back to to black or change the color if you want to its genius if you ask me 🤩
Yooo you hit it right on the nose and it absolutely makes sense, since painting it would make it permanent and also on camera the details dont matter unless you are specifically showing the details of the mic

Also Etsy has the wrap if your local Michaels store doesn’t not sure what state you’re in

First of all “your” channel is sick 💯💪🏾 you’re killing good it literally…secondly thanks for the complement and lastly, on the wrap around I cut a super thin wedge/channel/split to go around the cable and then overlap the wrap. Of course I left the heat gun part out to camouflage the seam. Hope that helps. What color you thinkin about?

I wonder how you got the edge right when foiling, (the transition to 360 deg) I mean without overlapping and sticking on top of each other -- can you give some more details on that? (By the way, tasteful studio setup -- looks really great)
Alex thanks for the compliments 💯 so yes there is a small overlap intentionally right where the wire comes out of the mic. This is because that part is actually never seen the way that the mic is positioned for use. Further I will say that the paper I use is thin enough to that it’s pretty much seem less to the eye even tho it’s overlapped. For the (around the) wire without detaching and soldering I simply cut a small slit to fork around it and then overlap. Also I use a heat gun to kinda shrinkwrap a little. And yes the mic is more cylinder-ish and not a perfect round so I use a razor to trim off the excess

razor cut did the trick. just enough to straddle it and then a simple overlap . also since the wire is on the underside it hides it well
