  • This is my Triangle BRO3 & BRO2 Speaker review. These are the best budget speakers. Both of these remind me of the classic JBL 4311 or JBL L100 speakers. Both use paper woofers (cellulose) and are dynamic with great tonality.

I love your videos. Your passion for audio gear is so sincere.
And the JBL 4311's? Yes sir! I was lucky enough to pick up a pair of those from a family friend when I was only 15 years old. They changed my perspective on hifi gear forever. Those speakers sound great on almost any amp, and the music just comes alive and makes you want to dance. You now have me intrigued to track down these Triangle speakers. Keep up the great work!

I enjoy your reviews and enthusiasm for hifi. I would love to hear these. I like the open sound of stand mounts if placed perfectly. I just bought Solid Steel 24” stands. They’re $300 but they are well made and look beautiful. Prefer them to the clunky style or single post. Worth the investment. I’ve been enjoying them with the Klipsch 160m’s.

I have the Triangle BRO3 and I love them. I pair them with a Carver M500t 250 wpc power amp that I've had for at least 30 years. Preamp is the NAD 1600, another piece I've had for
30 years. I no longer play my music at concert levels like I did with my Cerwin Vegas (15inch woofer) so these are just fine. At their price point I would recommend them to anyone.

Got to try a pair of BR02 at home over the weekend. Found them very enjoyable ''music first'' type of speakers. If you start comparing and analyzing in audiophile mode you'd probably find them to be inferior technically to more expensive speakers but for all around listening enjoyment they're hard to beat. I loaded up a random playlist and the first track that played, Tomita's Snowflakes are Dancing, put a huge grin of my face. However, one thing I would not want to use them for is TV or movies, they're just not articulate enough for dialogue.

First of all i love this channel! I am torn in my decision making. Budget option 1200 Euro: Triangle Bro3 with Iotavx SA3+PA3 VS. More expensive option 4900 euro: Buchardt s400 with Hegel P190. Will I get a significantly better music/sound experience with the more expensive option? I am a hobby dj and I practice at home. Style of music: Deep house, minimal techno and disco. Also listen to jazz, classical and rock. I want to play relatively loud and feel the bass without adding a subwoofer, mainly in regard of my neighbors. The sound quality varies from wav, 320 kbps to poor recordings. I live in an apt and the roomsize in question is ruffly 6x4 m. Maybe there is a compromise? The Buchard s400 with Iotavx pack? Please comment.

Would u recommend them for movies too ? Had some Wharfedale 11.2 and as much as i loved their rich mid-range/ low-end empathize and rolled of highs in music ( with a really disturbing lack of upper mids tough, im into percutions and drums and the drums were just too tamed, pulled off ) in movies i hated them for muffling certain effects/ highs into the lower ones creating a muddy experience, they had the same soft tweeter. Are this speakers substantial/ exagerated rolled of in the highs, like for example in songs were particular vocalisations/ highs gets skyrocked and u feel how exagerated they pull back that emotion, that intensity, extension of the highs ? Can you please tell ? Im really vexed up and i wouldnt wanna go with Titus for example and trade off the musicality and depths of this Boreals, i also consider M Audio Silver 100 but i dont have any feeling about how would they sound, maybe a type of "all highs and lows" and not so rounded, warm, balanced, fast, precise like Triangle. Wish i could audition them but i cant.. Thank u for ur sincere review and time, it really helped a lot !

I have to agree with Jay on the pairing and overall sound of the Bro3's. I had a pair tucked away in my closet and had only listened to them with my PS Audio's M700's which i recently sold. So, i had them up for sale along with a pair of Kef's LS50 black edition. The LS 50's sold within 4-5 days, 270+ views 17 watchers versus 23 views for the Bro 3's with no watchers. The mistake i made was, i hadn't listened to the Bro 3's yet with the Willsenton R8 connected. So, i hooked them up and listened to the "the best 20 movie soundtracks" and other music on youtube & Tidal. I just sat there amazed at the sound and thought, "why am i selling the bro 3's?" I had them paired with a Rel T7i and the bass was so outstanding at times it was scary. I looked at my DAC (MHDT Labs Orchid with the Philips TDA1541 double crown chip) and wondered are you making this system sing like this? I then looked at my Schiit Freya+ and wondered is it my preamp? I then gazed at the R8 with the same thought, "are you making this system sing like this?" Imaging is spot f'in on! I am jerking my head left after hearing an instrument show up just outside of the speaker and between my imac, (source) then the same on right. Then high in the air in the middle an instrument is playing, then a voice, a sax, and on and on. I mean come on, these are the ELAC's of France.
Now, they are not the end all be all speakers but all BS aside, some people seem to be stuck on name recognition. After my listening session I have decided, I'm not going to sell them now, it's that simple. Your loss my gain. PS, I had the Denafrips Ares II DAC connected early on too and it is pretty liquid sounding, it just has an outstanding overall presence. I then thought well maybe i should upgrade to the Pontus II now that i know Denafrips is a credible sounding DAC. Well, the Ares II lasted about 24 hrs., - + on Ebay. Gone, in 60 seconds, snapped up like chicken on a june bug. I said all of this meaning to say "i clicked buy" and now have the Pontus II on presale and await the shipping so i suspect more will be revealed if the Bro 3's have anything to say about it...

This brand is more affordable than Elac though, I would even say Triangle are the Wharfedale of France. Both the Borea series and Wharfedale Evo series offer incredible Bang for your buck. The fact they are not selling well, is due to them being one of Hifi's best kept hidden secret, I mean everyone knows KEF, but most don't know about Triangle, and assume they are some mediocre, lesser good brand. And they couldn't be more wrong, lol.

I really liked the elacs but found them to be slightly on the boring side. The bro3’s imo ARE what the b6.2’s are TRYING to be. I can’t see anyone being disappointed with this upgrade. Enjoy!

in the budget zone someone think about Xtz Spirit4, under 500.(very few reviews). I asked Sean about the same question you make and point the S300mk2. he reviewed the elac reference and said it make better all the b6.2 but he would go for a more significant update. Im in the same way you are. im also thinking about the sound of evoke10 as possible but as expensive as the s300. 👍

@@antanicchio71 This could be overcome by a good tube pre amp but yeah, they are on the clinical/bright end. How about the Polk LSIM703? I owned both the LS50 and Polk and directly compared, Polk really has that mid bass magic and good detail but slightly darker.

Off topic but do you or anyone that you know have any experience with the SMSL A8? I have a large desk and I use the SMSL AD18 but I want to upgrade that amp and I am wondering if the icepower A8 is worth the $770 price tag, if not what would you recommend? I want something with more power than the AD18 so I can use less efficient speakers such as the Micca RB42, the AD18 seems to drive them ok but I can't help thinking that they would shine a bit more with more power, I use a power brick with more amperage than the stock one but still, plus, the A8 should sound better, I just don't know if it is worth the asking price.

Do you think it will be a good idea to save that extra 100+ bucks and go with the BR02? I could be putting that extra savings into funding for a higher quality subwoofer such as the SVS PB 1000 PRO. I was just thinking if I'm already going to be spending 500 bucks on the BR02, an extra 100 bucks for the BR03 should not hurt that much, the thing is though that since the subwoofer will be taking over the lower regions of the frequency, the BR03's extra coverage of the lower frequency over the BR02 might end up not being of much use with a Subwoofer.
