Thank you all for the kind comments and thank you so sooo much Merriam for the accurate analysis in your video! I must have body dysmorphia or something, because at first I thought I was a Theatrical Romantic, but I was confused, because many things didn't add up. It seems that instinctively I was doing things correctly (some of the pictures are 4,5,7 years old). Anyway, it feels great to belong to the ever-original, crazy, avant-garde FG club!

She is some kind of classic. You can tell in the bikini photo. She has a moderate vertical line, not short. The T-shirt and pants photo makes her look short because she's wearing floods and the shirt stops below her waist. This creates a shortened leg look. Looking at her arms, legs, AND head size, she is very even. Her facial features are also moderate. She just dresses gamine. Also her lips are moderate to thin, not full. It's pretty clear she overlined them to make them appear fuller. Her face is pretty balanced, but she did gamine makeup. This is why Merriam has asked to see photos with minimal makeup, so the true proportions of our faces are not skewed.

Her vertical appearance is kind of "mixed", long arms and moderate or shortish legs. Also you can measure with how many heads fits in the length of the body.

You're not typed by your face tho. Selena Gomez is a prime example. She has a SG face, but her body, i.e. her lines, is a Natural type. She is a SN.

I am really curious to know how tall she is, because to me she does not look short at all! I think she looks rather tall and thin. My favourite outfits on her are the all white outfit, the black skirt/tights & orange top @13.03min, and the skinny black jeans & red top at 14.03min. I like her edgy style, and I think she would look greatest in clothes that accentuated her thin and long stature, like long skinny jeans/pants with patterns (faux snake skin, striped, checkered, etc). I think thats why she looks good in the mono-crome outfits (all blue, all purple) because it adds the length that her long and thin body portrays. Personally, I think her body shines in the clothes that draw on her length (the longer black skirt paired with black tights @12:44m), rather than the shorter skirt that cuts off her legs/length (black & red flowered skirt @1:33m). I think a really cool outfit for you would be black and white striped skinny jeans/pants (thicker vertical stripes) paired with your orange blouse loosely tucked into the waist (the blouse thats shown @13.03min)!
These types of video are great! Keep them coming!! So informative and better than constantly just using the same celebrities time and again.
That was really helpful. I love the bangs on her, that red outfit with the cinched waist and the complementary colored outfits are also amazing. I think, flamboyant gamine is one of my favorite types in terms of style variation possibilities. They can look edgy easily without it being too much for them. I just like the vibe I get from them. But this video also gave me a sense for why some people might think differently. Eg those classy looks. If someone really loves classic looks, they might have thought, those were her perfect lines. I can imagine my mom would definitely tell her to stick to monochromatic looks with an elongated line because she hates staccato outfit combinations in general. I love staccato looks and a mix of different textures and complementary, dynamic color combinations. When I try to wear it - as being a soft natural, how you kindly told me - I try too stick to softer colors, more muted, more flowy but still not monochromatic. I think it's really interesting how each body type can play with style. I also love dramatic lines, but I look really off in those, so I try to avoid them. I truly believe that when we understand our lines and really understand the lines of clothes, it's becoming effortless to pick clothes that just look amazing on us. Same goes with colors. Maybe even for someone who doesn't know much or even anything about color analysis for people, when they understand color in general, they might automatically pick colors that work for them. I never liked yellow or pure orange on myself, even as a child I felt very overpowered by those colors. And one think about the interview you meantioned: When I read about your passion for drawing and painting and how that ties in with everything, that really lit a candle for me. I also draw and paint since I was a child, I also love everything about color, picking a nice hairstyle, a certain haircolor, choosing shades for makeup, playing with color in general. But also videography and photography, sewing, interior design etc. Some people don't see how this is just a whole picture and not shattered interest. They tend to think, I don't know what I want. Also I truly believe we don't have to stick to one field and dismiss everything else that tickles our curiosity. This also applies to our style: do we really have to choose if we want to look classy or edgy or cute ALL THE TIME? I don't think so. We can, if we want to, but personally, one day I might wanna look chic, the other day more cute, then more edgy. I know, some people get confused by that. But as our character traits may not all be consistent, our style can vary as well. And that to me is a lot of fun. Style can really be a form of art.
I so agree about the fractured interests being really part of the same urge, and not having to "stick to one field and dismiss everything else that tickles our curiosity."
I would guess dramatic classic? She looks good in classic lines and seems pretty balanced.

I think she's a tricky one... because...
- Her body doesn't look short and boyish like FGs (and Gs) silhouette usually does.
- Her body is yes, somewhat angular (mostly the shoulders though) but it is also somewhat long and feminine which contradicts FG.
Audrey Hepburn a FG, had a similiar(ish) body: a long torso and a waspish waist - but she also had more narrow shoulders and bigger head AND squarish hips and coltish/long legs. Typical gamine shape. The model here is less severe. Less leggish, less angular.
Maybe it's just me but I think the FG lines kind of swallow her up. (The high waists look great tho, in comparison to the dropped ones.) But it looks like she's someone TRYING to be a FG. The colour- blocked boxy lines and animated prints look too severe on her feminine body. Maybe she might be a soft gamine? Emilia Clarke (SG) has a bit similiar shape (long torso). Though Emilia's head also looks proportionately bigger than what this lovely model has.
Also, maybe if she went more towards a "Zooey Deschanel style"? (I saw someone naming Zooey a FG/SG.) Because the A-line floral dress and bangs do flatter her. The Kelly Osbourne kind of crazy punk rock FG look... just kind of looks too much on her.
Just speculating. I do enjoy your videos Merriam. I think you often get things 100% right. But this is what I thought!
Edit: Also, the orange relaxed blouson looks awesome on her. I think even some natural lines would look good on her.
I was thinking the same thing. She looks great, but the boldest gamine outfits and the jet black hair are a little harsh on her.
Ya, I also don’t think she is a gamine, the gamine outfits seem to overpower her and as she was trying to hard to look like a gamine. I thought she looked good in classic outfits :) and it would be worth it to explore the classic styles more 🤔
I first thought she was a Dramatic Classic then Flamboyant Gamine. Where you saw D answers, I saw them as C answers...
Me too. I didn't see full lips at all, more on the thin to average side. And that was with a bright red lip, which makes lips like fuller and possible overlining.
@@tomjones2157 She definitely overlined because her upper lip had completely different shapes in w different pictures. Her lips look moderate to thin.

I think that Sophie definitely gives off a flamboyant natural vibe! She's tall and elongated, has broader shoulders and some width to her.
Sophie turner looks like a dramatic classic to me. Or just classic. Her vertical line is average for her height.

Having said that, I thought she might be a Dramatic Classic at first, but I do get some serious Zooey Deschanel vibes from her, and she is also a Flamboyant Gamine!
However, my eyes did perceive her vertical line to be longer, since her head seemed kind of small to me. It wasn't until her picture with the red loose top taken slightly above her that I could see that she's smaller. That vertical line thing still trips me up! As does perceiving balance, and length. I wonder if this might've been easier to see if there were picture comparisons with other types as you often do. Anyway, thanks again for your video Merriam! 💕
Actually gamine lines are shortened not elongated.The oversized jacket does not compliment the look that well.

there are so many components to this system so I give all the creds to those who can type accurately. when you said that her vertical line might be short, it reminded me of a kibbe example of a short model who's line for her height is pretty long so that's what I thought about during the beginning 😅👌🏿

Wow, I typed her correct and that in mind a few months ago I couldn't make a sense about Kibbe-bodytyping. But it was kind of a frewbie since she looked so great in the more gamine outfit (colourblocked + short flared skirt with kind of higher waist emphasis).
Great videos! They helped me figure out my type better than any another Kibbe guide. Thanks. (I would still love to have you type me though, but I'm sure you are super busy.)
Lately, I've been super curious as to what Jennifer Morrison's type is. Also, I think it would be fun to see what each country's dominant type is. And maybe what each of the eras' dominate types are.

@@merriamstyle Yes! Please, make sure to do nude lips for them all! Gosh, I'm theatrical romantic (so I like more chiseled, often darker makeup), but I also have a warm and bright undertone, so it gets complicated.

I think she's definitely a more yang type :) My first thought also was DC, but then I couldn't really find any C answers...I think there's more drama to her, however, her eyes and lips are kind of yin. She usually goes for either D or DC looks and looks amazing, I think :) She has long bones and she also has some width, but I don't know if that's because of the training or her natural tendency. So I guess she could be D, FN or DC, what do you think?
@@katyakomlach6171 After checking out some of her pictures, I agree that she must have a bit more drama.
She has really beautiful long legs (and arms), but lacks that typical N 'strong' look, as she is quite narrow.
This seems to point to D, but as you've said, her eyes are upturned, and her lips seem lush.
But this could cancel out some Yang maybe. Also, N clothing looks very unprepared and sloppy on her. If we just focus on her long narrow skeleton however, D seems quite likely... But she isn't so dry. I do see symmetry in her, so maybe I'd again propose DC for her. She looks good in those long, asymmetrical, sharpish styles. I wonder what Merriam thinks!

I just paused it and this is very hard because of her small head proportionately but I would say a gamine because I think that she is a mixture of opposites and with an angular skeleton, I would say flamboyant gamine but I think she looks too good with waist emphasis i think if she were a flamboyant gamine a tighter fitted waist wouldn't be her look as much, now I'm gonna un pause it.

Honestly I find her great in all theses look, I don't think the latest outfit much better than the first one
But it's probable that I just anable to see the subtitle differences
To me she looks gamine maybe FG because her bones are really angular, but small. She looks really petite. She has some softness, but nothing in the romantic category. Sometimes her flesh even has some dryness to it depending on the angle. Especially her facial flesh.

First I thought dramatic classic because of the body, but the facial features were not classic and she rocks the short bangs. And she looks too tall for a pure gamine, but she must be a gamine, so I thougth flambloyant gamine? And my second guess was right. I'm getting good at this :D
She looks good in the gamine looks, but the lightly ruffled look in the first set of photos looked theatrical romantic (?) But I am always bad at picking these. She looked tall to me in the first photos. I'm guessing before I watch the whole video. I'm going by what outfits she looks the best in... that one on the steps is perfect for her. I totally see FG now. When you started talking about her vertical line I was arguing in my head that she really looks balanced to me, but I see what others in the comments have pointed out about the longer arms and so on. There's just enough mixing to put her in that category. And then when I saw the FG outfits... Yes! It's like she lit up and became so much more alive.

Carol Tuttle's energy typing is fascinating! It makes sense being a type 4 and FG (as Audrey Hepburn). At the same time having type 3 as a secondary allows me to bring in the dynamic patterns and asymmetry. What about you?

I have a few things Meriam, I wish you would do more videos because I just love them I'm sure so many others feel the same YOU ROCK.. another thing I was wondering if you could do a video on sloped shoulders it is extremely hard to get dressed and I'm always in a tee shirt because everything hangs and lays weird. (very narrow shoulders) .. I would love to know what Selma Blair is.. When she was in that TV show with Charlie Sheen. I'm similar to her. If I had the money I would. have a consultation so hopefully I will get that soon. 💛
Looking at the math, she only has +2 yang verses yin characteristics. That’s enough to push her from Gamine to Flamboyant Gamine, especially with her C dominate body? Since perfect types don’t exist, I can see how this requires some subjectivity.

I love love love your video! but i do feel I am even more confused now because I do not how I could identify which type am I. I have mixture yang leaning skeleton bone, with yin flesh, mixed- but yin leaning facial bones and features. I feel like I am going crazy since I do not know how to identity which features carry more weight and find my type
At first I thought soft dramatic or flamboyant natural because of the effects of that empire waist dress/pose, then I thought classic because of the long red dress, then I thought 'maybe she could be flamboyant gamine, they're supposedly hard to recognize'... Hahaha took me a while but it was more instinct than insight. I have a lot to learn!

I have a very similar body shape to her in terms of bone structure, but I am 5'9, more fleshy in the bum and thighs and my face is a bit rounder. Would I also be considered a flamboyant gamine?

Shoulders: D but then ever so slightly wider than my hips so maybe B? They’re definitely tapered though.

Hands & feet: E ahahah they’re so small (3.5 UK) but kinda wide
Bustline: well I’m on the larger side of a C and my ribs are 32 (UK sizes) so I think C?
Waist: C-D kinda varies?
Hip line: C
Flesh: C-D difficult because I’m slim but where there is a flesh it’s quite soft so maybe D? There’s just not much of it anywhere but my face.
Cheekbones: um nonexistent? I guess they’re high but not very prominent so maybe A?
Nose: E or B? wide, round and short.
Jawline: D
Eyes: E
Cheeks: D?
Lips: E
Yeah idk I’m stuck. I’d say my body is soft classic but my face is more like theatrical romantic or romantic so I’m just lost (doesn’t have anywhere near the balance of a classic.

I guessed right! Well actually I wasn't sure between pure gamine and flamboyant gamine...
But most importantly I think this helped me type myself! Seeing how you actually add up the results was very helpful. I think I might be a soft gamine!

I can imagine dove cameron being a soft gamine or theatrical romantic. Her facial features are alle very small and delicate. Very round eyes, small button nose, short, full lips...Perhaps even romantic. Her body is very petite and yin too.
@@gittevandevelde2208 dove has had plastic surgery on her nose (it was big and, sort of Natural type nose) and her natural lips are so thin you can barely see.. Dove is a soft gamine for SURE and Ari is Gamine
@@iasminfreiredurval549 Her nose still wasn't that big (I looked her up pre-surgery) and her lips...She had kind of a rosebud mouth, which Merriam considers D. Whatever, we'll see if she ever makes a video about her.

When I paused and did the test with her pictures I had A-4 . C-8 , D-3 , E-1 But came out with the same conclusion Because Her Facial bones were so dramatic and Felt like the Flesh C's were more Yin for some reason XD
