How funny that aesthetics are aligned with social status. This is typical closed mindset. Supposed to be an intellectual. Most of our saints were unlettered, but see the depth of their words. They never compromised.
Aesthetics doesn't only mean looks.. It reflects way of lifestyle, thinking, kind of books you read.. Obviously there are many gujjar, haryanvi etc who could only amass wealth but had no wisdom whatsoever.. They will leave the earth truly empty handed.. People who travel, read books, admire poetry takes something with them.. This is why some people are born artists or creative.. Wealth can't be taken away but wisdom can even with death

Kantara is not movie .. it is radio commentry ... constant action and dialogue ... no "thahraoh"... couldn't finish. Not seen RRR or Bahubali. Saw Pushpa ... it is no match for Sholay. Only plus was Rashmika!
And the same me watched spell bound an old Tamil movie (without understanding the language and no subtitle) where Kamal Hasan was serial killer who married Sridevi. Then another Rajni-Kamal movie where Rajni is village thief.

I really disagree with Javed Sahab here. In 2007 a movie came out about dislexia with no famous stars but Amir khan as a director and doing a cameo.. that movie which dealt with such complex topic is one of the hindi cinemas most successful and appreciated movie.. other examples are Padman, Shubh Mangal Savdhan, Tannu weds Mannu, so I don't think it would be right to blame the society for it.
The problem is that our big mainstream actors who have the capability to bring people to cinemas are making movies which they think the public would like.
Instead they should make meaningful movies with some heart touching elements, and yes there would be some limitations, they can't experiment up to the level of an off beat film, yet we should not undermine the intelligence of the people.

This is not true at all, filmmakers always have choice to make meaningful and non vulgar films but they choose not to do it because it take more effort and time to make good films. And good films do good box office too, look no further than films of his children DIL CHAHTA HAIN, GULLY BOY , ZNMD in fact one of the biggest box office collection film is such film i.e. Dangal. Furthermore films influence people in various ways for ex. hairstyle from TERE NAAM, language that we speak today is not pure hindi but it's mixture of hindi and urdu aka Hindustani same language that they use in film and the list goes on. So to blame people for bad state of films is absolutely absurd.
Let Shahrukh Khan get a hit atleast in 2023,which he has not got in last 10 years
