Hoover Reservoir Trolling for Saugeye and Crappie

- Met up with a new friend of mine and Hoover expert. Showed me how to successfully troll, and avoid all the headaches with small techniques. Right after this, I went out and trolled from my kayak and caught the fish in the thumbnail.
Feel free to ask me any details of what line we were using, colors, depths, anything to help you improve on your trolling.

They stocked walleye the past couple of years in Hoover.
It could very well be a walleye. It’s just so hard to tell what genes they took from a walleye and which ones from the sauger. Every time I think it’s a walleye it ends up being a saugeye. So I just assume they all are. Especially since they said the walleye fingerlings got tore up by the bass and stuff compared to the saugeye ones.
@@TheUrbanHunter. yeah I heard the walleye didn’t do so hot and they are going to discontinue stocking them. It’s a shame I was hoping to have a good walleye lake in the Columbus area lol
@@hunterwallace1724 yeah… it’s basically the same as a saugeye and they grow quicker so it’s all good.
Thought hoover was trolling motor only?

Hoover is 9.9 horsepower limited. Or electric motors. It’s a fantastic fishing lake. Hope you can get on some spring crappie coming up!
