This is great thanks! I never thought of taking cuttings from salvia plants - I have been growing them from seed - but cuttings would speed up the process so much!
Great video and useful. I have quite a few salvia but have not had much luck with cuttings. Trying again and now know to pinch out to bush up so thanks.
Fantastic video and I did enjoy it. I am putting together a video on salvia cuttings and wanted to make sure I got it right! thanks for the insight it was spot on ;-) Good artists copy and great artists steal lol.
Thanks for your comment and you are welcome. Good luck with the cuttings but you shouldn’t need it. They are very easy to do with an almost 100% success rate
Hi Rog, this is just wonderful I so admire your amazing tropical garden and your depth of knowledge regarding it. Your lovely channel and this video makes me wish that I had a garden that I could potter around in! Take care up there my friend!
Fantastic tips! I have liquid plant food that also says it will act as a root starter, but there are no instructions. Would I use it basically the same way as the powder? ♥
The Salvia plant I bought with lots of blooms failed to bloom after they died off. I live S. California it was very hot when I bought it. Hasn't bloomed since. I thought your garden and your T shirt looked like you were on the west coast where I am. I loved your simple video and I will give it a try. Do they not like hot sun?
The garden is in the UK. You could try cutting it back and make cuttings of what you’ve removed. The original plant should send out shoots and hopefully flower again
Hi Larry the tree fern is in the ground and has been years it has a lot of root but unfortunately it has started to lean over so I have tied it back with some rope..
Thanks.......... Now I know how to propagate my salvia. Quick...simple and effective
Thank you for your comment. Before long you will have an abundance of salvia cuttings. They strike quickly

So you put three Salvia cuttings into a little pot to root. Once they root do you then pot up each of the three cuttings into their own separate pots?
Yes, I would repot once you have roots
@@OurEnglishTropicalGarden Thanks very much!
