Absolutely marvellous; coming from a guy who spent 30 years in and out of fighter nets as ground few. I also have a few hours flying in those jets (back seat in some or right hand in the Canadian Tutor; it not in the CF18 Dual, although I have been in the Voodoo CF 101. During my career, I went in a decompression chamber 4 times; my work as a military photographer required it. Flypasts must be impressive to turn my crank, and this one does. Great photographic tracking from the ground, also.
Canada bought the carrier version of the F18 as the air frame is beefed up stronger to withstand carrier takeoffs and landings making the plane last much longer
I just noticed something about this bird. Afterburners don’t light at the same time. Could this be the flight computer preventing to much yaa in any direction? I’ve been an aviation fan since a child and I have never seen that happen. Mechanic to pilot; why is your tail hook ground down to a nub?
And your comment is offensive. So you know nothing of Canada's cold war operations in Germany flying various aircraft including the CF-104 Starfighter and CF-188 Hornet. Obviously you have a great deal to learn.

Proud of our Canadian boys and gals from the RCAF! Great demo!
Awesome! I was there at the Friday show and the CF-18s twilight closing demo was breathtaking. Thanks for the great video :)
Love the Twighlight shows! They did this same show in Abbotsford earlier this summer!
Wasn't that awesome? The f22 definitely topped everytime though
Absolutely fantastic!!!
enjoy the show everday thank you.
Beautiful jet
That was bad ass!
Very impressive! Perfect timing.
Awesome
Wooooooow!!!!! The afterburners look spectacular
Progressive A/B; not like some who go “boom” , upon being lit.
Excellent
Our Naval F-18 pilot does it right also when doing his night Demonstrations in Oceana Jet Base and in front of the hotels in Va beach front
best aviation content ever on YT amazing video's!!
Right On
Right On Go Army!
Man... that take off was very close to a tail strike loool awesome pilot
Thank you for sharing this
That is one lucky bird!! He popped out just under the wing on takeoff..surprised he didn't get sucked in the engine
Man last we need is a second year where we lose an airshow plane to a fucking bird
The sound at 1:25 is so ominous! It sounds just like the B-1 Lancer I saw and heard when stargazing at 2 AM one summer night.
Only other classic hornets that sound like that are the ones in Australia. 😂😂
...need more burner please.
Did it almost breach the sound barrier at 9:03?
My little brother was a Naval Aviator for 25 years. He says the fast movers would "reef and zortch at the speed of heat!". Great example of that!
Awesome video! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Nice
So nice video👍🏼👍🏼
Пилот суперпрофи!! 8-)
Military Power at its best
💚
Nice capture! Can I ask about the camera used for this video?
It's a Sony AX-53. Thanks for watching!
🤩🤩🤩☺️☺️☺️☺️
The Canadian F-18 pilot is doing it right
Thumbs up to our friends across the border!!!
The way afterburners were meant to be seen.
That's some good silly awesome

Amazing air show. Hope someday they would add the A10 Thunderbolt .love that BRRRRRRRRRRRT sound of the A10warthog..
Is this Super Hornet , i can't tell if it has the rounded intakes or square-diamond shape intakes of super hornet, and Thank YOU
Not a Super Hornet, the RCAF only operates Legacy Hornets
Was the tail hook being down a mental error, or was he just showing off some sparks? 😅
That's part of the show..
With no Aircraft carriers, the arrestor hooks are just giant sparklers to the RCAF!
@@JohnA891 No.... They do serve a very important purpose. Airfields they regularly operate from have gear for the hooks to engage.
it makes targeting airfields more complicated for the enemy if you can land hornets on roads all over Canada or when your deployed overseas.
Canada bought the carrier version of the F18 as the air frame is beefed up stronger to withstand carrier takeoffs and landings making the plane last much longer
I think the two engines had a part in the decision as well. There is vast areas in Canada where losing your only engine is deadly

Mechanic to pilot; why is your tail hook ground down to a nub?
no its just a mechanical matter of the fuel igniting asynchronously
Cool hook sparks! Where were you that night? Photo pit?
Yep - they wouldn't let media to the front of the pit so this was filmed balancing on a flimsy plastic folding chair!
the CAF needs super hornets!
the 2 dislikes must me 2 people who live near the airbase
10.
Who needs fancy thrust vectoring aircraft.
The pilot make afterburner show
He forgot to raise his tail hook up
I was unaware Canada allowed jets to fly. I would think Trudeau would say it offended the sky.
His father really screwed up our military a lot and made us more reliant on the US. Junior turned the military into a political social experiment

see a shrink you missed the brain train
3:08 to 3:26 ish … the baleful sound of a freight train horn … adds a nice undertone to the 🐝
Hello.
Thank God, No music!!!
No external fuel and on the burners all the time. He must be on vapour at the end of the show.....
no
No need to look no further
It's always nice to see a REAL F-18 flying. I much prefer it to its big-ball-of-mediocre younger brother.
The Super Hornet is an improvement in every way.
👍👍👍👍💪🦅🇨🇦
40 yr old junk.
