I worked on Jets on a Carrier most of my time was on the flight deck and this was the most unrestricted flying I have ever seen and we use to see allot of it at sea ;)
I can see the freaking flutter in the tips of the tail fins! That's how awesome you are with a camera. And the pilot. A magnificent and unique demonstration. A+++ Would watch again.

This one seemed rather restrictive (probably because of the cloudy sky) but they always show off the roll rate, high alpha pass, minimum radius turn, high G takeoff. Theose are all standard maneuvers, which is why they are put into all demos. Just look at the Blue Angel's. Even they are much more "aggressive."
About demo agressiveness : the most agressive demo of a F-18 ever for me was around '92 in Payerne / Switzerland during my military time. It was a CF-18 from Canada and at this time the minimum altitude during show was ridiculously low. I was even scared myself seeig him fligh so damned low and so damned agressive. (Typical F-18 stuff high alpha low speed / high sigh speed whatever...) It was also during that time that Switzerland was considering the F-18 for replacement of it's Mirage so maybe that played a role ? It was so low that the guy couldn't do the slightest mistake or he was toasted. I sure nobody ever allow such dsiplay routine anymore. Part of the explanation was were military personnel not joe public so normal restriction didn't apply. (Miliaty personnel = expendable commodity lol)
Ho'nets are always a great display! Very pointable... one of the most maneuverable A/C at slower speed for a good display for an airshow. Good video, cheers.
Awesome video. Great perspective on the T/O roll in a max performance configuration. From an undershoot area to threshold then rotating at the TDZ markers that’s roughly 450-500m for the roll!

Awesome, Not a full aggressive demo, but beautifully shot and gave a real feeling of the airport. bet the echoes from the cliffs created tingling I was getting goosebumps from the recording... I went to H.A.R.S. earlier this year and wanted to get back for the airshow this year (always thought Illawarra would be a great place for an airshow with that escarpment). Really jealous now. Best vision of an f-18 display this side of the professionals. Plus i loved the crowd sounds really felt like i was there.. off back to watch it again.. cheers

I live 3 miles from MCAS (MARINE CORPS AIR STATION) here in Beaufort, SC.trust me when these and the F35 takeoff, circle and land during heavy manuevers right before deployment they tend to drive you batshit crazy with the noise that vibrates your eardrums and pictures and plates fall down from it, but like thei sign at the entrance of MCAS says "That noise you hear is the sound of Freedom"
The Carolina Lawn Darts (AV-8Bs) had this weird whistle to them. I think that made them a little more annoying. I'm a MCAS Cherry Point Marine brat. lol.
To the Australian people, this is the sound of freedom.... without a strong Defence Force, we would be open to others that would like to take our way of life....
It was staged. A mock bombing run. They do those at some air shows. The Fire department must always. Be on scene when it's performed. It's a safety reqiurement.
I replied to the wrong comment, but people were asking what exploded, and why there are firefighters swarming the scene. There were people who didn't think in was a bombing run, but thought an accident or a crash may have happened. I just replied to the wrong post.

It's pyrotechnics. Staged by the people who run the demonstration, the firetrucks ensure it doesn't start a brushfire and put it out.
