Quo bro...in case you don't already know...Rick and Alan are passed on 😞 the four originals reformed after many years apart for an awesome amazing tour 2013/14 billed as the frantic four.
Check out the frantic four live on youtube...plenty of options... I would recommend the first 19 minutes, opening 4 tracks, to begin with.
Hope this helps. Keep it going big guy 💪💪😎🤠
Alan lancaster's Bass lines in this are spot on. The most underrated bassist of all time. RIP Nuff
The most underated band of all time
Don’t forget Alan’s songwriting skills. Mountain lady, Backwater..
@@franstraas2517 Correct. A year too
😁
The quo definitely needs a spot on your wall
Get it up there 🎸🎸
I was thinkin that.
I have sent something, from the Quo shop, but it seems never get there.. :(
The whole album is what rock music is about. A classic
90% of the songs on the "QUO" album were written by Lancaster/Parfitt.
RIP - Rick Parfitt
RIP - Alan Lancaster
Now you're just heard the real quo
Some of us were lucky enough to see Quo live in the 70s.
What a fckin band!
It's great to see your journey. You've got so many great songs to go!
Love your crazy reactions to Status Quo but who can't to that song Slow Train a masterpiece, for another Quo boogie song try Hold you back 🎶🎵🎸
Yep that’s another great tune
Agree!
Drifting away from the Quo Album one of my favourites.
Mr Rock what would you have been like at a live Quo gig in the 70s 😂😂😁👍🎸🎸
Saw the FF tour of 2014 in Manchester. Dream come true. The original quo back together.
me too!
The original QUO had a Keyboard player called ROY LYNES. 1965-1970
Saw them live in Glasgow when they recorded the live album. It was over 3 nights and they played Slow Train on the last night, the place went insane. Massive banks of speakers and the volume just blew you apart. Always loved the Quo, that's why I seen them 35+ times. An honest reaction from a genuine Rock 'n Roll lover.
Oh man, did they record it????
Really, I thought they had never played it live?
Yea, however, it was an encore that was was played on the last night. Also, I seen them in Dusseldorf when they played it. Apparently a big favourites with German rock fans.
You are a breath of fresh air buddy.
Vintage Quo, My first concert was in Glasgow Apollo 1976 and the balcony was moving up and down like never witnessed before, then I went to see them at Dundee Caird Hall and after they were banned for 20 years because the place was totalled ;)
Lonely Man from this album is a classic.Well worth a listen.
100% brilliant song 👍🇦🇺🎸
Haha, now that's a proper reaction - Quo are probably on balance my favourite band ever, certainly their 70's output, and this is my favourite album (I have the cover tattooed on my thigh). The hours I spent as a teenager flailing around my bedroom to this stuff, just as you were here. I'm gonna try to share this with with the drummer John Coghlan, because I think he'd enjoy it 🤘
Let me know if he responds! I’d be happy to talk to this brother of rock
@MrRockNRollLive I will brother 🤘
I kinda reacted like this when I first played it as a teenager.
Just brilliant 🤩
When my quo mate Kenny Hiscox passed away this song played as we walked out the crematorium. But we all stopped and sat down with tears rolling fown our faces, this is the power of Quo and what it means th their fans. So glad you discovered the love. Rock on dude. 🤘
Kenny be rockin’ in peace 🤘🏻
@@MrRockNRollLive he sure loved his quo in fact I never knew his surname until that day as we all knew him as Kenny Quo. And he dressed the part always wore his denims
Quo changed my life in 1978. "Backwater/Just Take Me" were played on the radio (from this album). "That is really good band"... I went to my hometown library and they had "On The Level" album. From the first notes of "Little Lady/Most Of The Time" I knew I had found my favorite band. They still are, after 47 fantastic gigs. A fan of life 💖
I wish everyone who heard Quo were as enthused. Brilliant album. Incredible to think it's 50 years old
Yes!! This is the one I've been suggesting to you for a while now! Hope you enjoy it!
Been on repeat in my head since so…..you’ll see how much o enjoyed it soon
Been on repeat in my head since so…..you’ll see how much o enjoyed it soon
Been on repeat in my head since so…..you’ll see how much o enjoyed it soon
@@MrRockNRollLive Quo has made more than 300-400 songs since their start in the mid 60s, if you listen to it in it's whole you can get going for some years nonstop.. :D And they are still touring, even if the las ton now (of age), so don't bother with all the comments from that Frantic Four-maniacs that it all ended in 198u1 or 9184.. Quo is still very much alive today! 🥰
This is probably one of the best songs they ever wrote, even better when its live. If you want to see the latest and final lineup of status quo you will need to watch them this year and possibly a few gigs going into next year...after that they wont be touring anymore. The music might never die , the fans will always be there , but the musicians are reaching the stage whereby its time to call it a day for the tours. Ive had the pleasure of seeing them many many times at a lot of venues since 1974 and those memories will always stay with me forevormore. BTW the Quo Army are fantastic , they know great music when they hear it and all their concerts rock.
What a great track!!!
Wow
Been waiting for you to do this one, probably my favourite of all. John Coughlan (Spud) AKA The Mad Turk on drums, the greatest shuffle player of all time.
Coghlan. But contentwise you're correct, of course.
@@nino910 Yeah I remember it being spelt that way on some of the earlier albums, can’t break the habit.
Great to see another Quo disciple born !
Have seen them in Australia every time they have toured since '74.
Long live the QUO
I can tell this type of music gets you hyped and you really enjoy it aswell. If I am lucky enough Status Quo are coming to the town I live in in August this year and I may purches a ticket to go and see them again live
End of the road 84 full concert you wont regret it.
They not at their best at that gig
@@koekelmetperen No Coghlan, no bueno.
Love your reactions. Keep ‘em coming! You might want to take a look at ‘Blue-eyed Lady’ from the 2013 Frantic Four reunion tour. Parfitt’s rhythm on that is just insanely relentless.
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!
Saw them last night in Scarborough Open Air Theatre, still absolutely nailing it🤘
I've seen them live 4 times, they are superb.
Keep it coming.. this is the last tour...
@@leiper72 I've still got the jacket which on the back says 20 years of rock ! Looking great after 40 years
Feel good music! I miss this Quo!
One of my favourite tracks ever. From the time when I had hair!
hahhahahaah, Ditto
Great reaction Mr Rock and Roll. Drifting Away on the same LP will have your brain exploding
You just getting it !
Not many bands could see this lot off back in the day
Dog of two head through to on the level
Hammersmith Odeon used to bounce two feet in the air with the punters when these lads put it down.
Seen them 3 nights ago in Glasgow, still a great live band. LET'S ROCK
I've shared your channel on my Quo trib band's page. You deserve hundreds of new followers. ❤
If you have had a bad day at work, just put this guy on TH-cam while he listens to Classic Frantic Four era Quo. He will cheer you up. Well thats a first for me, seeing someone listening to Spuds drum solo whilst aiming a machine gun around the room. Quality stuff!
Wow, the first reaction ever to this song! Congratulations, man! 👍
i love the way you get it.... we who know get it..........
Couldn’t click on this fast enough. Such a great reaction to one of my most favourite Quo songs. And yes ……. Quo were the best and most fun live bands around. I saw the original line up many times. Just awesome. Although if I remember correctly I don’t think they ever actually played slow train live in its entirety.
Bro, lovely big guy rock n roll... You've done it again. Awesome. Thanks. I was one of the many who requested this from you. So happy. If I could I would subscribe 10m times to help your channel.
Great reaction 🎉🎉🎉❤
You guys have some LIGHTNING TASTE
Bizarrely the Quo hardly ever played slow train live... THE SAUCE definitely totally should do it... Gotta keep that quo train going boys!!! 💪💪🤠😎
because Rossi plays both harmonic parts of the solo. Rick was the best rhythm guitarist ever, but solos were not his thing.
Give their tune Ring Of A Change a listen from their album Blue For You. 👍
Also look for the gig titled End of The Road. Live at the Milton Keynes Bowl, It was the final show of their first final farewell tour on the 21st July 1984 infront of 42,000 Quo fans. 🤘
Such a great song, epic!
Saw them on Friday 31/5/24 in Glasgow they still have it 🎸🎸🏴
Belfast 28th 🎉 Saw them in Glasgow when they were guest stars of Lynyrd Skynyrd...
@@EastonUlster I was at that one as well massively wagons opened the show and they were good
The quo are currently touring the uk and Europe. Great reactions
You must try Little Lady / most of the time, the opening tracks from the on the level album. Stunning boogie followed by the heaviest and most powerful blues workout you will ever hear
Oh yes this has made my day 🤘🤘 rock on
If you want to see them live they are on tour NOW!!
Next one has to be Backwater😊!!
Back water and just take me live at Wembley
The best tune from the brilliant Quo. An amazing tune
And John Coghlan is a left handed drummer
I listen to the quo and acdc now and again you can hear the influences quo made with acdc
Bon Scott was a huge fan of Quo.
@@Signofevil_Smile4theCam was he ? Hmmm read stuff about bon I don't think quo would be his thing tbh. Maybe Malcolm was a fan of them
@@josephbuckley5961 Just Google.
Yesssss! The best combination on TH-cam,
Status Quo and Mr. Rock and Roll!!!
Thanks for all the various reaction and analysis videos you have uploaded to TH-cam.
I have to go to work and have only watched a few minutes of your live stream. My comment is about the small amount of content I have seen. Taking Miyako as an example, having a classically trained background, always shines through. You can experience various rock and metal bands, going back to the 70's where a member as had extensive or some classical training.
What has change for budding or experienced musician's, is the affordability of recording and editing equipment. You can literally have a professional studio in your bedroom.
Ah right. This is another great example of Quo's mastery when it comes to doing long songs that fly by in no time at all, that they would end their albums with, that leaves you wanting more. There's definitely a theme going, considering you've done, 'forty-five hundred times', and, 'Bye Bye Johnny', so far. There's a few more which fit into the same category still to go, though. 'Roadhouse Blues', and, 'Mystery Song', being the ones that immediately spring to mind. The 1974, 'Quo', album continued the legacy of, 'Hello!', with the obvious other choice for consideration being the 2 opening tracks, (I say 2 as they run from one to the other), namely, 'Backwater', and, 'Just Take Me.' John Coghlan, the drummer, shone quite magnificently on this album. The solo on, 'Slow Train', only being one example. The majority of songs on this album were written and sang by their then bassist Alan Lancaster, and it kind of shows. Not only the 2 openers, but also, 'Drifting Away', and, 'Don't Think It Matters.' Francis Rossi sang 3, namely, the only single from the album, 'Break The Rules', (which ought to be given a listen, if nothing else), 'Fine Fine Fine', and, 'Slow Train.' Rick Parfitt only contributed the one song. A laid-back breather called, 'Lonely Man.' You could do the entire album as, much like their previous 2 albums, there's not a skipper among them.
You've done it again as far as songs by Quo that haven't been reacted to before. Hopefully, it'll start a trend.
I would highly recommend, 'Mystery Song', (album version, of course), as the next song to react to by Status Quo.
One of my favorites.
Saw them do this one, in the Netherlands in the 70's, on the Pink Pop festival.
One of the best concerts I've ever seen.
Great fun reaction.
Thanks bro.
👍👊😁💪
This was just a great album all round, backwater/just take me is a proper gem
How lucky are you listening to some vintage Quo for the first time, rock on Brother😊
It's years since I heard this. I forgot it morphed into an Irish jig.
How can you forget that?!
One of the best all time live bands, period.
So why aren't they on the wall?
I see you have a Live Aid poster there
How about checking out Quo's Live Aid set? Just 3 numbers. All belters!
He has done Rockin all over from Live Aid earlier.. :)
Come see them in Münich-Germany on the 8th of July
I'll be there with me gf, for my 27nd concert with Quo ! :)
Check out Junior's Wailing from the Quo album Live.
Im seeing them Tuesday in swansea arena front row. I hate to say it but this but this looks like its the last year for the quo.
It's probably so the last tour, Rossi is 75 now, (Bown even older), and he is going on his Chat&Tunes solo tour next year again.. I will see them later in summer here in Sweden.. :)
Saw them here in Belfast 28th may, you won't be disappointed, best concert I have seen from in many years. Mybe they know it last, but they played and looked like they having so much fun, enjoy...
Top tier Quo, I so wish they'd have played this live in it's entirety but never did A classic! that last bit after the drum solo is fire
I knew you would love this song. It's a real head-banger. And that drum solo is a killer. Next do "Rain" and "Mystery Song" from their Blue For You album.
Full length Mystery Song!
THE greatest boogie rock song of all time IMO. Hail!!!
The No. 1 rock n roll band in the land
Mystery Song next. Sure it'll become another new favourite! Keep rockin' Heath!
Oh Yea this Album is Rhythm and Boogie Roll
John Couglan OG was the creator of this solo, one of the best drummers back in the day
Amazing video 🙌 plz see Quo live! You wont regret it! /best wishes from Sweden 🇸🇪
Quo are the best band to play air guitar to .keep them coming ,love it 🎸😀🍻
Thanks Mr. RocknRoll! My favourite Quo track, also my favourite Quo album - every song just great. Did you know it 's also known as the "Four Heads" album? I heard them play Slow Train live only once and that was sometime back in the 70's! Amazed they were never massive in the States.
First time i heard Slowtrain live i thought my ears were gonna bleed. Sweat lashing off me i thought id pi**ed myself! ✌️🎸
Same record: Drifting Away. Probably the hardest song they ever wrote. Just brutal back in '74.
Milton Keynes must be next!!
Love watching your reactions to the Quo. Just how we all felt back in the early 70's. Not the same band now at all though.
Insane isn't it. We have loved the Quo for, well for me 40 years
John Coghlan was just brilliant at doing his drum solo!!
John Couglan drummer on Slow Train, and member of Frantic Four is still alive and kicking playing with JCsQUO
Amazing song,amazing band❤
Top top band live
Mad Turk and Nuff spot on and so tight.
4500 times of the rock til you drop album 👌👌
Nice to see you trying to do the 'jig' Micheal Flatley would be proud of you!
This is just fantastic!!! Much respect to you my friend 👍🏻 Love the Quo 🎸🎸🎸
For live performances, I would recommend the Birmingham 1989 show. Like all bands with long careers you can now use the benefit of hindsight to divide up a band's career into different phases. In the late 80s, the synths and keys work beautifully to add a new dimension to their live performances, in my opinion. Francis' lead guitar sounds fresh and punchy I think. I would suggest 'The Power of Rock', one of their last long songs, with tempo changes, a catchy chorus and blistering solos on both guitar and piano. But make sure you choose the live version. 'The Power of Rock' - live. I would describe it as an 80s relative to the 70s juggernauts 'Forty-Five Hundred Times' and 'Slow Train'. But in my opinion, a fabulous creation at a time when the band's live shows were absolutely on fire.
Loving the videos... I've seen a few mentions in the comments about how Quo put 'light and shade' into their albums. May be try the track before this on the Quo album... Lonely Man as an example of this. Very different sound and the layers in the song will surely melt your brain holes 🙃
Blue Eyed Lady...now there's a song🤘
Come to the UK. I'll put you up for a night or two and we will go see Quo. Needs to be soon as Rossi is now 75 yrs old. I saw the last week and it was great. Sadly no slow train but they sound so tight and are brilliant.
Good evening Heath,
How are you doing? Just wanted to thank you for your TH-cam content - especially your reaction and growing respect for the band that changed my life back in 1985 - the Mighty Quo. It warms my heart to see you get it - totally understand why I and many many others in the UK love Quo.
So with that, I'd like to send you a banner depicting the artwork from their best album ever - Quo. Plus I have a spare double LP of 12 Gold Bars and 12 Gold Bars II from 1984 that I'd also like to send across the pond if you'd like them?
PS - Try out the Milton Keynes End Of The Road '84 footage on TH-cam. That's proper Quo. And then you'll really get it.
Just so you know its pronounced State us . Hi from Scotland
My mum used to babysit Alan Lancaster the drummer
Seen the quo 35 times mostly in the 70s n 80s suburb days
This guy is an overgrown schoolboy.
Status quo meilleur groupe du monde ❤

Hi fella really glad you liked slow train ,when rick died a band called massive wagons did a tribute to him ,called back too the stack ,check it out
Your one crazy guy Mr rock and roll...slow train fucking class....
I seen the qui in their heyday and Ac/DC with Bon Scott both at the Glasgow Apollo in the late 70’s were the best ever , Both I love the same from specially that era and I still have the Frantic 4 and the Bon Scott Albums, what came later from both bands minus certain members doesn’t come near . 👍🏻💚🎸🎸
