A journalist once said "If you go to a Quo gig and don't at least tap your feet and nod your head, check your pulse... you're probably dead"
That’s hilarious!
And …
I concur! 😁
@@tinyhoney12 NOooooo you ARE DEAD ! This is pure raw HEADBANGER Music. Always has been
I had a stiff neck for a week....
I've encountered this a few times when a person would say he or she hated Quo, but as soon as they heard Paper Plane or RAOTW their feet started tapping and head knocking!
True!
Robert Plant said if there is one band you don't want to follow on it's Status Quo
if i had a band reunited dead or alive, Status Quo would be the one, God bless Rick
I was ten years old when Paperi plane was released in 1972....still loving Status Quo....makes me Happy...🎸🎸🎸🤘...it's rock'n roll
This guy is the best he loves status quo as I love them then and now every song they did is a classic raw rock n roll gives me goose bumps watching someone appreciate them like I do pure delight please listen to 45 hundred times , you will love it 😀
In their prime these guys were the dogs danglies 🤘🤘🤘
Hardest gigging band up until Rick passed, always on the road, best gig for me was Thetford Forest, what a location, what an atmosphere.
And the badgers nadgers !
I love this guy he fucking loves the quo like I do they are brilliant song after song after song absolutely amazing they are non stop brilliance please play 45 hundred times great song as well love man keep rocking 😂
I went to see Status Quo at the Royal Court in Liverpool, this was a 2500 seat capacity venue so it was quite an intimate gig. It was 1973 on the Piledriver tour, it was also one of the loudest gigs I’d been to at the time, their back line amps filled the whole stage and the PA was monstrous, I mention this cos, when me and my girlfriend left the gig our ears were ringing for days after. What a show, absolutely awesome!!!! 🤘🤘🤘
I was there....thats when gigs truly were memorable...just paid on the door to get in!!... ac/dc and queen at the Empire a week apart!!...loads of gigs at the Stadium. Those were the days eh?😢😁👍
Yes! Please, do the whole show! You won't be disappointed :)
Thank you for doing Status Quo! My favorite band!
Heard Caroline before on this particular show. Drums and bass are amazing, lifted caroline and also here lifts paper plane, this drum sound works great with quo, more power
Saw them at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1977 on the Rockin All Over The World Tour. At that time they were the best live rock act in the world. Amazing show!
Do Roll Over Lay Down. The 70's version. See what the US really missed.
Seen this band in Scotland Edinburgh still one of my favourite gigs , the whole row of seats in front of us nearly got pulled out we were rocking that hard ! There later stuff became a bit to poppy but their back tracks pure rock n roll ❤️🏴
I am SOooooooooooooooooooooooooo juelous ! They never came to the U.S. and their albums are almost impossible to get in the U.S. HEADBANGERS FOREVER !
these have been rocking since 1968 and still rocking
Quo were simply the best live band around.
"Are" the best live band
@@leo1314ok No, were the best live band.
Present day they are good, but the Frantic 4 were a completely different animal.
@@jb-ox2ro I'm not comparing "old" Quo to "new" Quo. I'm talking about in general. Very, very few come close to them live and I've seen many bands over the years
Please please the full show you'll love it,full on rock n roll to the end
I saw them in Antrim, Northern Ireland in the early 80s. An incredible live band.
I can remember seeing them in November 1996 in Dungannon Leisure Centre. We had tickets for Belfast but it was cancelled due to them not being able to get the equipment from Mainland Europe so we went to Dungannon 5 people in a Vauxhall Nova . The place was absolutely bouncing and like an oven. They kicked off with Paper Plane and in the encore they slipped in a verse of sweet soul music!!!
@@FenderTele it was amazing that a band who played in front of huge crowds at festivals and in stadiums were also happy to play in places like Dungannon Leisure Centre and Antrim Forum. Legends.
Was at the Antrim show and also saw them a coupel of times in the Ulster Hall and The Odyssey. You always know what your getting at a Quo show and they never disappointed.
I first became aware of the Quo in 1972 when I heard it on the radio. Haven't looked back since.
There is a you tube video of them at the Marquee in 1972 playing Dont Waste My Time. That is who they were back in the day.
Yes yes do the whole show I can’t wait 👍👍🎸
The studio version is great and the live from the Marquee in '72 is also worthy of a listen.
'Big Fat Mama', awaits.
th-cam.com/video/4QTp8lTzqUI/w-d-xo.html
I'd love to see Quo at Red Rocks, Mumford and Sons had one hell of a gig there.
You sir are not only pure entertainment, you're also pure rock n'' roll. Love it.
Love the energy of this guy, I’ve been a Quo fan since the early 70s, Down Down went to number one on my 16th birthday, used to go to their December concerts every year, can’t bring myself to go since we lost Rick, god bless Rick Parfitt.
You should also watch them from any early years, in the 70s and so, up to 1984, then they quit touring and split.. In 1986 they had new members in (drums and Bass) and went on with In The Army Now, also a big hit..
Finaly mr. Rock and Roll and Status Quo, the best combination❤
I hope for a looooooong time, they have a huge list of songs and albums over 60 years!!!😊
They're bloody great
I've watched quo for over 40 years
What can I say they are the best boogie woogie band ever end of.
DEFO let's do the full quo set.😊
Status Quo ‘All the reasons why’ 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
These are the guys that started the headbanging
Status quo ❤❤❤❤
just listen to them boogie!
Yes do the full concert your gonny luv it 😁🤟👍
Few people have more fun on stage than Rhino (bass player in Quo). He's a joy to watch and he's really into making eye contact with you and give you thumbs up all the time when you rock out.
You've gotta give Mystery Song a listen.
Nice to see The Quo getting some recognition Stateside. Keep up the good work Mr Rock n Roll 👍. Paper plane UK no’8 in 1973. The original video to this song was recorded at The Marquee in London, well worth checking out. Also the compilation album 12 Gold Bars.
Quo live is always a great time so yeah, please do the whole show!
Another great band I grew up with in the rockin' 70's. They've been at it for 60 years now since the late 60's. They are the essence of Rock. Thanks for the memories.
see if you can dig out some of their earlier performances too.
That would be fantastic
Hey Mr Rock N Roll,
We call them the Frantic Four here in England or just the Quo
I’ve been a fan from 1972
Check out the early stuff, ok this is from Piledriver but obviously a more recent recording,
Keep Rocking Bud 🤘🏻
Yes yes and yes definitely let's do the full show, you will definitely not be dissapointed
As you have enjoyed three songs, it is safe to bet you will enjoy all their songs. 12 golden bars for their songs. 😎
They d blow the stones off stage that’s for sure
Yes. The whole show, COME OOOOOOOOOOON
Brilliant 👏 ❤
Great to see you enjoying this music, dude. I remember bribing a DJ in a local club to play Paper Plane with a 20 pack of Embassy because he was into heavy metal in the early eighties and he hated Quo. 4 Long haired girls got onto the dance floor with their thumbs down the front of their skin-tight jeans and made their 2 foot long hair stand vertically as their heads went down banging away. An awesome sight and sound.
Hi Mr Rock n Roll, Definitely do the whole show, This was originally released way back in 1971-72 ,and it's from their Piledriver album 😄😄🤘🤘
You got to listen "Roll over lay down" absolutely incredible
Quo, my favourite all time band! Been a fan since I was 14, now I'm 62 and still love them!!
speed skating to this at the Streatham ice rink with occasional slides and smashing into the boards oh what memories
Was that Silver Blades? I used to go there in the 1970s as a kid
The Quo were the 1st band my Dad introduced me to at a very young age in my induction and then addiction to the rock and metal world, and at 41 years of age, I still love them as much now as I did then 🍻
I love you dude…. This is a cracking tune. In the U.K. lingo we call them Stay’tuss Quo.. 🤙🏻
Since 1962 they have a lot of fun music albums, so i can not wait😊!
People always talk about SRV heavy string gauge but Rick Parfitt was stringing his mythic white tele with 56-14 standart tuning ... (ok, he didn't had to bend them 😄).
My fave group from where I come from, good old Souf London (original members) I got on stage with them once at a tiny BBC recording studio in Regent Street in London and they blew my ears off 🤣🤣🤣
Quo are the best seen them live almost 50 times
Quo quo quo the best of British music music music dance ❤❤❤
Sadly the lead gutairst Rick Parfitt passed away a few years ago i was lucky enough to see him live with the boys my brother got me into them
please do the whole show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
70'S QUO WAS WHERE IT'S AT - ESPECIALLY LIVE!
I've subscribed just because of how you love Quo.
You should def do Roll over lay down!
Been at the front of quo gigs stacks of times,my fucking head and necks well fucked 🤘🤘
Love those OTT sill lyrics!
Ya need to watch roll over and lay down (from the video)1977
You Americans missed out. This band were bigger than AC/DC in the 70s and 80s, in the rest of the world.
I was at that download show. It was as brilliant as any other quo show I have seen (about 60!). You should really gave a cracking at them doing the full forty five hundred times from 1984 end of the road show at Milton Keynes. They mashed two old sings into the end of the recorded 4500 and it became this 22 minute brut
Love your attitude to REAL music, my favourite Quo track is DON'T WASTE MY TIME, you'll love it, keep up the good work mate, cheerio from Glasgow Scotland.
As an Iron Maiden , theses guys are now in the 2 slot
Listen to their Live Album from Glasgow 1976! That album will blow you away…
"Live!" is indeed their best (trivia - AC/DC recorded their mythic "If you want blood" live album at the same venue two years later!)
In particular 4500 Times
Ok, you need to hear both: Live and Studio versions of "4500 times" !!!
You should also check out all their earlier videos with the essential Allan Lancaster playing base, where all three front men have their LONG hair dangling everywhere!!!
The studio version of Paper Plane please 😁😁😁
Big Fat Mama next on the set list!!! You will not be disappointed!!!
When I have the age of 68 68 I hope I still play like those guitar players!
You should try “roll over lay down” and “big fat moma” but definitely do the whole show 😂👍🏻
I was a fan since the early seventies, please check out the studio albums, and the song paperplane (the album is Piled river)
The studioversions are fantastic. The 70ths period was the best time of the band.
With the albums: (1) Piled River (2)Hello (3)Quo (4)On the Level and (5) Blue for you.
You will discover the best Status Quo period, and get one of the fans for a lifetime.
Greatings from and old lifetime fan. Geert, from the Netherlands 😊
* Piledriver :)
@@michaelkarlsson5966 Paper plate is such a KILLER song for us head banggers .
Do Roll Over Lay Down from same gig, then Whatever You Want!!!
Great to see you getting into the mighty Quo - always been a puzzle why they never broke the US - for me, the best live band there has ever been.
Unfortunately for you , the original line-up , who were together from the late 60’s through to the early 80’s, can no longer grace us with their presence. Two members have passed and one retired, leaving only the lead guitarist who nowadays fronts a band with the same name but without the same drive and rhythm.
Recommend you give the videos a miss and play their Live album released in 1977 - recorded in the Apollo theatre, Glasgow, in October 1976. This is the original “frantic four” at their peak, blowing the roof off, with the upper balcony bouncing, and a 15 year old laddie , attending his first ever gig , being blown away by the energy, volume and sheer power that they created.
I’ve been to hundreds, if not thousands of gigs since, seen just about anyone worthy of mention in the rock genre, but no one has ever got close to the original Quo.
Always been a puzzle why they never broke the US market. Very Simple really, Politics, in 1968 Capital records tried to BUY OUT Empire records of London. Rossie refused to sell the rights of the bands songs. So with Capital records being a huge money supported to then President L.B. Johnson's reelection campaign Capital had Prez Johnson BAN ALL Empire records from entering the U.S. until after Johnson was out of office in 1971 so from 68 to 1971 there were no Quo albums in the U.S. Market (about a dozen abums total) and that is why . Even today it's almost impossible to find or buy any Quo albums here in the U.S. from late 68 till the HELLO Quo album that was allowed in into the U.S. late in 71 (under a Capital lableI I might add)
You need to check the video of this palyed at the marquee club in the 70s. The originak band were so so much better back then
Keep Quoing!
Do ROLL OVER LAY DOWN next from same festival!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED!!
Rest in peace Rick Parfit, blonde guitarist.😥
Quo Medley starting with the mystery son
End of the Road 1984 at Milton Keynes. Watch the full show.
little lady is a great track
You really should check 4500 times by status quo from 1984 july end of the road
Big Fat Mama from the same gig, absolute banger...
I think I may need to grab a couple of albums again. Status Quo have long been one of those bands here that people sneer at, or rather sneer at you if you like them, almost as if they are a joke and something cheesy to listen to. Always loved them.
Paper plane from the Marquee in London 1972. Give that a whirl. Absolutely ball bouncing version.
Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt telepathic telecasters. In their hands telecasters counted out anna 1 anna 2 anna 3 anna 4, with that certain something! In ricks words to get it right you have to hammer and they sure did!👍👍👍🎸🎸🎸🎉🎉🎉🔥🔥🔥
Check out there medly stuff they are so underrated great rockers even tho Rick passed legends ❤
Watch the live in Hyde Park 2019 concert. 👌🏽👌🏽
Epic ❤
Did you know status quo was nominated the loudest ben in music check out there rig set fir concerts so many trucks of just amps
Check out the lead guitar work on Don't waste my time from live aid 85.
It’s st ayyyyyyyytus quo like the fonz says ayyyyyyyyy
Pretty sure you'll find the Studio Version is as good as the Live version.
YES they really are good Live.
One of those bands that could pick up the toy guitars in toys R Us and have the whole store rockin.
Seen them many times, always tell people you leave a Quo gig with a smile on your face and a little bit hard of hearing.
Studio version also please. And if you like this, you'll also like the fast paced The Mystery Song.
Listen to the introduction to QUO live 1976. Will you welcome the magnificent Status Quo!!!!
more of the festival BRO !!
