You NEEEEEEED to watch the link I’m sending in this message. Status Qui doing this live, but going into a whole rock n roll routine, then back to the song. They also have their comedy side showing and their on-stage mid song chats. ‘This’ is the Quo we all love in the UK. Get ready to burst with excitement man!!!! th-cam.com/video/haj3E4Zezr0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=M0_jEGVq2oNnUZkX
For 12 bar boogie, there is no one better than 1970's Status Quo. The Original Frantic 4 had a magic to them. Francis Rossi (lead), Rick Parffitt ' RIP' (rythem), Alan Lancaster 'RIP' (bass) and John Coghlan (drums).
Great reaction to an absolute Quo classic.Really glad you're enjoying your experience of listening Status Quo.Ive seen them many times and they've never disappointed. Keep going cause there's a lot more to listen to from the mighty Quo
I love your enthusiasm for Quo, I’ve been a fan since the early 70s and still listen to them every day, you could run this channel for years and still not cover all their songs, keep it up
They played this when I saw them in a small cellar club in London in 1973. I was just a kid, my ears rang for days and it is a lasting memory. If you haven’t already heard it, try their version of Roadhouse Blues. Long live the frantic four🙌❤️🔥
I love this guy 😂 he gets me going but you got to listen to 45 hundred times it's a gem please please 🙏 you truly bring the status quo memories back to life thanks love ya man
Loved Quo for 50 years, seen them live in London and again twice here in Australia. Absolutely loved my youth. Quo, Rose Tattoo, AC/DC Rock me even now in my mid 60's
Fantastic reaction to an equally fantastic song. They did do a few live versions of this song into the 80's, that you would, no doubt, find interesting. It was one of a number of stock numbers that they played that involved a little bit of audience participation, (kind of), where the crowd would sing along to the quiet chorus part. The singing in this instance is Alan Lancaster, who was the bassist at the time and was responsible for some of the more, 'rockier', songs, particularly from the early to mid 70's period of the bands' output. I think you'd love, 'Backwater/Just Take Me', from their 1974, 'Quo', album. You have to do both songs from the album, (as one runs into the next), or you could do the live version from their '77, 'Live!', album. Other songs to consider; 'Roadhouse Blues' 'Mystery Song' (album Version) 'Railroad' 'Junior's Wailing' 'Forty-five Hundred Times.'
The bands nickname of that 70s period is "The Frantic Four", as heard.. a lot of engery and great play, Parfitt's steady rythm, Rossi's solos, Alans stompin bass and John on drums.. They also have some great live versions of this, even up to modern times (90s).
Here is a live version from the same period, even more crazy energy there, but almost 50 years ago.. 😂th-cam.com/video/KK8ifbnMuDc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=A9VLYJQ6CcUYN6RP
Your reactions are crazy amazing and Quo is as well crazy amazin. Years ago they released an album "On the search of the 4th chord", because some people criticized them to be too simple playing always wth the same three chords. But what they made out of these three chords is history since neary 60 years. The best live album of all times is their live album from 1976. Keep on going with them and you will stay alive forever! Greetings from Germany
70's Status Quo made some amazing songs. They stopped being that good at writing songs, imo, but they still deliver live. And they tour so much, all over Europe mostly.
Man you are playing The Real Quo, The Frantic Four, you do know this is a Chuck Berry number right? You need to play all this album and their earlier work, you won’t be disappointed, Rock on Mr Rock N Roll 🤘🏻
I'm Australian, Status Quo were huge here in the 70's to early 80's. Toured here from the 70's to the early 2000's -possibly the early 2010's . I think I last saw them in 2007. I could never understand why they were no more than a curiosity, with a low following in the USA. They were awesome since the late 1960's until today! RIP, Rick Parfitt and Alan Lancaster
First band I ever went to see, 40 years ago now There are some superb live medely versions of this track available on youtube,,,,,,, certainly worth hunting down
I was watching an interview with Rossi uploaded just yesterday on the @Classic Album Review channel and he made mention that he doesn't see Quo touring much beyond 2024...so I say to you to get that cheap plane ticket to the UK, have a place to stay, and a ticket to see Quo whilst they're still touring. Get the experience. I'm lucky in that I've seen them back in '92, '98, and 2007 with seeing Rossi himself on his solo "Tunes and Chat" tour last November (more UK dates for 2025, 80 shows pencilled in). But yes, I strongly urge you to seize the opportunity whilst it still exists. Plus you could buy tour merch (maybe get the poster if you ask nicely). :)
The Quo ripping through Bye Bye Johnny nothing like it ,telepathic Telecasters. Try their take on the berry song Carol. For their country vibe try the Wildside of Life🎉🎉🎉 Give the anniversary waltz a listen its a medley of rock and roll classics youll love it🎉🎉. At a live show Bye Bye Johnny sent you out into the night ears ringing and wiped out!!!!
There are so many 70's British bands you need to explore Quo being one of them- but then there is Humble Pie- Eat It... and Smokin' find them and then pick a track or two- x
You should listen to their song Rain, which is one of their best songs in my opinion. Also, the best versions are the live versions, either from Glastonbury, or From Montreux, both from 2009.
This was always their live encore in the 70s! Check it out on Quo Live 77. Different level to this version. Live they were a force to be reckoned with back then. First Live band I ever saw in 75.
Man, you've got to get Quo Live at the Apollo 76 downloaded. Near quality of the studio versions but with their brilliant interactions with crowd interaction, just brilliant. What made them so raw was that they just didn't give a flying f**k about the music industry / artiste's opinion of them, or the average Pop buyer. They had their hardened following who just loved their near on 25% split all putting their bit in. If you do, IMO, the highlights are Bye Bye Johnny crowd interaction, 45 hundred times (16 mins), Big Fat Mama and 'The Doors' Roadhouse Blues, but the whole thing is Quo at their BEST
One of Quo's classic albums. Bye Bye Johnny is another classic Chuck Berry song. They finish the live set with this having us all singing along. You need to listen to the version on the Live album from Glasgow or watch the End Of The Road video
The version from the Live Double Album will blow your socks off....the audience input makes it one of the best live tracks ever recorded....you can feel the roof being lifted off the concert hall and the whole building swaying to its foundations!
On his little Mustang bass that the rest of the band was laughing at ("when will you get a real bass?" 😁) but contribued to shape the tone of the band - it was never the same after him. And Rick is one of the greatest rythm player ever too.
In the 70's we simply knew them as Quo. They were massive and played stadiums in the UK. One of the best 12 bar blues rock bands ever, one of the first bands I saw in 1973 :)
Great reaction as always Mr Rock n Roll. The song what always closes the Quo show. Always better LIVE with audience participation 👍 Check out Quo at Milton Keyes bowl 1984.
Savour it, just savour it, and take a wee sedative for the sake of you heart. There's another good song of theirs that you could raise your heartrate with. It's called roadhouse medley full version. About sixteen minutes long.
I grew up with Quo as my dad was a huge fan I developed a huge passion for their music. I love seeing other peoples reactions to Status Quo and your disnt disappoint. Do yourself a favour and listen to a few more i dont think you will be sorry that you did man. Happy rocking.
One of your next listens should be flirty five hundred times the 20 minute version, it's rock n roll top level energy from start to finish, highly highly recommend
4500 times on Hello is stunning, better on The Live album though. Quo did a great cover of The Doors Roadhouse Blues, Chuck’s Carol. Dog of Two Head album got Someone’s Learning on it. Just go get Ma Kelly’s Greasy Spoon, Dog of Two Head, Piledriver, Hello, Quo, On TheLevel, Blue for You and the Live albums and you’ll get what America lost out on. Been my favourite band for last 40 years totally underrated band just makes me happy to see other enjoy them too

It's great to see an American enjoying the pleasures of the Greatest Rock Band in history.
STATUS QUO!!!!!!!!!!
You are absolutely correct
Growing up in England listening and watching these boys was totally the best ever 🏴

Being English, I have seen Quo at least 25 times, They are always brilliant but always great live.
They played this when I saw them in a small cellar club in London in 1973. I was just a kid, my ears rang for days and it is a lasting memory. If you haven’t already heard it, try their version of Roadhouse Blues. Long live the frantic four🙌❤️🔥

I concur!
same...
Yep, pure rock n roll..... pure gold
I love that Status had 3 singers. Always found it amazing when several guys sang in 1 band as lead vocalists.
That is a fact, Rossi, Alan and Rick.. quite unique I think :)
@@leiper72 Queen is about the only other group I can think of that had 3 singers in it.
The first boy band! But they weren’t poofing around.
