Assateague Island Tour: A Must-Do Trip near Ocean City, Maryland

Take a tour of Assateague Island State Park and Assateague Island National Seashore in Maryland to see all it offers for the nature lovers out there. This is one of my favorite places to visit to stand up paddle board, surf, crab, fish and go off road on the beach. I go over most of the fees, common questions and give a quick comparison of pros and cons of the State vs. National sides. I never get tired of the wild horses and all the wild life on this barrier island just south of Ocean City, Maryland.

What are the main differences between the MD and VA side?

I’m more familiar with the Maryland side personally and have visited the VA side just a few times. Majority of Assateague Island National park is on the MD side. Maybe someone who really knows any differences can chime in for us! I do like Chincoteague Island right there and worth the visit🙌🏼
