This car became car of the year in the Netherlands. And it deserves it. Beautiful design, and I like the cockpit as well. It just needs a bit more acceleration speed.
@@fraz_the_mediocre Slower EV cars have worse range. It's not like gas or diesel cars anymore, where a small slow city car had very low consumption and very good mileage. A cheaper EV is worse at everything, not just comfort, speed and space.

But I'm sure looking forward to 15 years from now when we have a bunch of 17 year olds driving around in very old/cheap second-hand EVs that accelerate faster than most supercars from yester-year.
As a french user, have to say this car is really good. France is back in the game, since it is a real french car (even the cells are made in Europ by LG Poland). Could be a bit more efficient for me, but it is almost good, helped by this huge and pretty light battery pack. About the price, Mid trim long range version (Techno) + Driving assist is about 48K € un France, 44 k if you deduct the "bonus". That is a really good price to range ratio. About the charging speed, I have to say it is just ok. 37 or 38 minutes 10 to 80% is achievable. It is not impressive. BUT it as exactly the same average speed between 10 to 80 than a Tesla Model 3 or Y LR. About 100kw.
In Europe we need cars made for bumpy amd bendy European roads, conditions (glass panoramic roofs without blinds, in 30-45 degree summers is stupid) and for European people (parking bays, adequate thigh support, good aircon) . They don’t need to be made here but they do need to physically fit here.

I got mine last Wednesday. I drive in eco mode and with the recharging funcytion on full, so that the batteri charges when breaking on the motor. I haven't tested the massage function in the driver seat yet, nor the auto parking. So far really happy. I actually found this one more affordable than it's competitors. ❤

Did not test the headlights at night unfortunately. I like the Megane and the scenic is a notch up in most aspects. Love the exterior design on both. Hope you get it soon in 🇦🇺

I v got the Alpine version since a month now…all is nice and well design for a great expérience in electric. My 1300km trip France-Portugal was good, eco mode, 20kw consumption, charge station IONITY for 20-25min. Plug on the front, it is easy and quick to Park for a charge…. I am an happy man😊
As someone driving a lot of highway with a speed limit of 120 or 130km/u, this is still unusable. This Scenic looses half of its range compared to 100km/u.
Actually I am Megane Etech owner, but Scenic is on my shortlist for next time purchase. But especially with juniper update, model Y from Tesla is still sitting on first place in the list. Question, what annoying me with Megane is that I am sitting in the car while charging and car is turning off the system after 5 minutes even when I am working with screen, so I have to push button to start system again. Thats awful!
I lease through work in UK ... this car in top Iconic trim is £200 a month less than my current Volvo XC40 Twin EV. So, guess what I take delivery of in a weeks time
If I had to choose between performance, efficiency or charging speed, I choose efficiency any day. With that big battery and low consumption the charging speed becomes almost a non-issue. It just needs to deliver consistently in the cold with pre-heating. I wonder if does that?
Just like in the Megane, you can enable in the settings for it to auto adapt speed to traffic signs. But it is really rough increasing speed, so I have it always disabled

It's regulated by law. The speed assist chimes needs to be active by default at every startup. So with this profile button you swiftly activate your personal settings.

I see that the battery is fairly large but still the 10-80 charging time is slow as hell. That is a huge no for me. Also the consumption seems to be low but we need the same with 120 kph. 90ish is not really a good speed for long distance.

Your chart should include this if you ask me. 90 is more like cruising speed for single lane roads. 120 is a highway speed, which most of us use on European highways. I wonder how boxy shape affects the consumption, especially.
@fakamada my test is not a straight line 90 or 120 test. It's a mixed test and does show you what to expect in more everyday driving not only at constant speed. 90% of the time you don't drive at a constant 120 speed.
Charge rate seems to be pretty typical. Besides, there’s not really any point in measuring charging from 20% to 80%, as you don’t drive the car with percentages, you drive with kWh. It would make more sense to measure (for example) how long does it take to charge 200km of range. If we just measure percentages, we are giving advantage to cars with small batteries, while penalizing cars with larger batteries, like Renault here. I mean, 20-80% on this Renault is about 52.2kwh. Is a car with 60 kWh battery (that would need to recharge 36kwh) better, if it charges faster from 20% to 80%?
@@Zereniti77 I don't charge 20-80, it is pretty pointless. 10-80 is the optimum charging cycle. Charge rate is not pretty typical. Have you seen the updated Ioniq 5, with 84 kW battery? Have you noticed how fast it charges from 10 to 80? I don't think you noticed it. Even the pre-facelift model charges 77 kW battery in 18 minutes. Moreover; I said "the battery is fairly large". You are missing the points here.

@mrm5183 I think the techno is the only one with those wheels. Bit of a head scratcher but as usual the uk citizens get screwed over with less kit from manufacturers so no surprises.
Great looking car on the outside but the inside doesn’t appeal to me at all. Instrument panel looks blocky and there’s a jungle of stalks behind the wheel. Don’t like the sustainable upholstery either.
It's a blocky design as the outside. I would like it to have the media controls on the steering wheel as most other manufacturers to get rid of one stalk.
@@ItsOnlyElectric For a Renault user that is not a problem. I prefer that kind of audio stalk, older versions changed the source and controlled the call/answer button also. When you get used to it it's great and simple. You don't have to look at it as you sometimes do with the ones on the steering wheel and you can control it regardless of the position of the steering wheel. I drive a Volvo now and when in a roundabout the buttons are on the other side and upside down. Keyless go/entry also are better on the Renault.

Come one they don't even get the charging port position right. How is someone supposed to charge when parked next to a wall? My garage has 12 parking spots half of them cannot accomondate that position in the charging port. Nosense...
Thats the verry lowest consumption i have seen on this ev. All other test are much higher and even going verry bad extreem on highway speed of around 24kWh (almost chinese values)

A great package. With more power it needs to be RWD or AWD.
But why? 0-100 kmh in 7.9 seconds is already unnecessarily fast acceleration, tbh. For comparison, it's like a Porsche 911 from the 1970s.

It's not bigger than the ev6. It's a more compact design with a more airy cabin. A bit hard to describe in words. You need to try it

Did you even watch the video? Doing this test for all cars (over 40 EVs tested).
Don’t call AC charging home charging tho. 22kw in public is great and often cheaper and ideal sweet spots between rapid and single phase AC.
90% of the cases ac charging is done at home or at work. But of course It could be done at other places too.
22kW is indeed great for public chargers. We loved this in Northern Ireland with Renault Zoe.

I would say just below 400km in 120km/h.
Also, the loudest thing about the car is the windshield wipers, so loud!
It is possible that we have lower specs on our market, but the base version with 87 kWh(with heat pump and 22kW AC) costs us €43k including tax.
The car in the test is a techno with panoramic roof and drive assist.
I think in UK people spend about 75% on motorways.

Efficient car, but expect a lot higher consumption in 120. Estimate around 220kWh/100km. That will give 400km range.

I need to figure out how to turn off the chimes for going over the speed limit. While they aint to annoying id much prefer to live without them.
You do that buy customizing the perso drive assist settings. You activate it with the button to the left of the steering wheels.

Why do people use kWh/100km rather than km/kWh? The latter is like the km/ltr of today's ICE vehicles
KWh/km is the more common measurement that currently used.

Perfect for supercharging. Backing in and it's free. But dependent on the cable length

24 that's in 120 I guess. It has a. Ett high and flat front which kills the range at high speeds.

It's definitely too expensive, and will struggle in competition with some of the Chinese cars which are coming into Europe now.
