    I can't think of anything less interesting than 0-100. What I need to know is the real world range at 130 km/h on the motorway, in cold winter, with a full load of passengers and luggage

    This car became car of the year in the Netherlands. And it deserves it. Beautiful design, and I like the cockpit as well. It just needs a bit more acceleration speed.

    • @ItsOnlyElectric

      A great package. With more power it needs to be RWD or AWD.

    • @fraz_the_mediocre
      @fraz_the_mediocre 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      But why? 0-100 kmh in 7.9 seconds is already unnecessarily fast acceleration, tbh. For comparison, it's like a Porsche 911 from the 1970s.

    • @caleidoo
      @caleidoo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@fraz_the_mediocre Slower EV cars have worse range. It's not like gas or diesel cars anymore, where a small slow city car had very low consumption and very good mileage. A cheaper EV is worse at everything, not just comfort, speed and space.

    • @fraz_the_mediocre
      @fraz_the_mediocre 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@caleidoo Not really sure what any of that has to do with the trend of giving EVs unnecessarily fast acceleration. But I'm sure looking forward to 15 years from now when we have a bunch of 17 year olds driving around in very old/cheap second-hand EVs that accelerate faster than most supercars from yester-year.

    As a french user, have to say this car is really good.
    France is back in the game, since it is a real french car (even the cells are made in Europ by LG Poland). Could be a bit more efficient for me, but it is almost good, helped by this huge and pretty light battery pack. About the price, Mid trim long range version (Techno) + Driving assist is about 48K € un France, 44 k if you deduct the "bonus".
    That is a really good price to range ratio.
    About the charging speed, I have to say it is just ok. 37 or 38 minutes 10 to 80% is achievable. It is not impressive. BUT it as exactly the same average speed between 10 to 80 than a Tesla Model 3 or Y LR. About 100kw.

      @LysanderLH 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In Europe we need cars made for bumpy amd bendy European roads, conditions (glass panoramic roofs without blinds, in 30-45 degree summers is stupid) and for European people (parking bays, adequate thigh support, good aircon) . They don’t need to be made here but they do need to physically fit here.

      @fakamada my test is not a straight line 90 or 120 test. It's a mixed test and does show you what to expect in more everyday driving not only at constant speed. 90% of the time you don't drive at a constant 120 speed.

    • @Zereniti77
      @Zereniti77 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Charge rate seems to be pretty typical. Besides, there’s not really any point in measuring charging from 20% to 80%, as you don’t drive the car with percentages, you drive with kWh. It would make more sense to measure (for example) how long does it take to charge 200km of range. If we just measure percentages, we are giving advantage to cars with small batteries, while penalizing cars with larger batteries, like Renault here. I mean, 20-80% on this Renault is about 52.2kwh. Is a car with 60 kWh battery (that would need to recharge 36kwh) better, if it charges faster from 20% to 80%?

    • @fakamada
      @fakamada 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Zereniti77 I don't charge 20-80, it is pretty pointless. 10-80 is the optimum charging cycle. Charge rate is not pretty typical. Have you seen the updated Ioniq 5, with 84 kW battery? Have you noticed how fast it charges from 10 to 80? I don't think you noticed it. Even the pre-facelift model charges 77 kW battery in 18 minutes. Moreover; I said "the battery is fairly large". It's a blocky design as the outside. I would like it to have the media controls on the steering wheel as most other manufacturers to get rid of one stalk.

      @@ItsOnlyElectric For a Renault user that is not a problem. I prefer that kind of audio stalk, older versions changed the source and controlled the call/answer button also. When you get used to it it's great and simple. You don't have to look at it as you sometimes do with the ones on the steering wheel and you can control it regardless of the position of the steering wheel. I drive a Volvo now and when in a roundabout the buttons are on the other side and upside down. Keyless go/entry also are better on the Renault.

    Why do people use kWh/100km rather than km/kWh? The latter is like the km/ltr of today's ICE vehicles

    • @ItsOnlyElectric

      KWh/km is the more common measurement that currently used.

      @@timrothwell33 Yes, of course we do. Where do you live, UK? Most cars in Europe show how many litres were used for 100 km. For me km/litre doesn't mean anything.

    Come one they don't even get the charging port position right. How is someone supposed to charge when parked next to a wall? My garage has 12 parking spots half of them cannot accomondate that position in the charging port. Nosense...

      Perfect for supercharging. Backing in and it's free. But dependent on the cable length

    Thats the verry lowest consumption i have seen on this ev.
    All other test are much higher and even going verry bad extreem on highway speed of around 24kWh (almost chinese values)

      24 that's in 120 I guess. It has a. Ett high and flat front which kills the range at high speeds.

    It's definitely too expensive, and will struggle in competition with some of the Chinese cars which are coming into Europe now.
