That's one of the best reviews I've seen of this car, balanced and well made. I've saving for the deposit to buy next year. People say its not quick, but its 80's hot hatch quick enough and as a family car, its almost a no brainer if you're not bothered about an EV and is a no brainer when you are! Here's hoping the decent offers from Renault continue here in the UK
Good review. I have had mine for 2 weeks .. Iconic in Red with Black roof. Best EV so far .. better than my previous Volvo XC40 Twin EV. I don't even miss the loss of 200bhp A well thought out car especially with the emergency isolator under the rear squab and a plug in for a fire hose to flood the INTERIOR of the battery in a fire rather than trying to cool from the outside
Excellent explanation of the car, down to earth and sensible points made for people considering buying an EV. Other so called reviewers could learn from this gentleman.
Wow, thanks David! I try to make reliable consumer content...but probably to the detriment of viewership figures! Anyway, appreciate the comment, and hopefully I've done enough to get a sub out of you!
Due to pick mine up early December. Techno long range, arctic pearlescent white with diamond black roof. The blue carpets in the Alpine version put me right off and I don't see the point of paying extra for a glass roof that doesn't open with the iconic.. Enjoyed your in-depth and enthusiastic review.
Hey! Thanks for the review. You mentioned doing close to 600kms. I noticed the red color in your dashboard, which assume means you were using the sport mode. Was that just there at the end or did you have it during the whole testing? Cause if you did, and you had that range, then it is pretty good!
Good review mate. I'm 6'4 myself and always have issues with thigh support in cars especially on journeys over 3 hrs.. Did you find the support under the thighs to be adequate? Going by your video the seat appears slightly shallower than I would have hoped. Cheers
At 6 ft 5" with long legs (36" inside leg) thigh support is usually a distant wish for me. However I have found some modern cars with electric seats allow you to raise the front of the seat to really help. Our current 2024 hyundai kona N line s EV has very adjustable electric seats and I don't want for more thigh support.
@@brianiswrong yes I have noticed this also and for the most part it's certainly an improvement. I just feel for the kind of money these machines are they could make more of an effort or have it as an extra option. The volvo seats are the best I've been in so far for the extendable support but their price and range doesn't work for me. I suppose the best way is to give the car a go myself. For a machine I intend to keep for the long term, I don't want to feel like I'm settling Cheers for the reply
Good point, but I find pricing is different amongst markets and that creates issues for comparisons. Different financing conditions also. Appreciate the feedback though...thanks!
So before your trip returning the car you took a video of the percentage left (SOC) and how much range the car said was left on the battery. I suppose that was for at "real-life" test of battery range vs. google maps/ android-auto reliability or what? Anyhows...you didn't readdress the topic. Care to now?

Renualt doing what Renualt do best, give families room and a little flair in design, and be very competitive in the segment for price.
Spot on summary! Someone needs to give you a job writing car reviews! Thanks for the comment Brian!
Good review. Could elaborate more on the rivals - Name, Cost etc.
