Yes would be a deterrent
Someone said it will advertise to the thieves so they could put a knife to your throat asking you to disarm the vehicle

goodness no, you run the risk of being threatened for the code thats a bad idea. Its something you know that the thief doesnt
Auto stop start on my car so every time I stop I’ll have to put code in .
I'm yet another victim of keyless entry theft, will look into this for my next car

It would be great if the system could detect door opening while it’s running, drive a few meters then prompt for code. This would helpful in instances of hijacking instead of waiting for the next start.
In South Africa thieves might need that one drive to get to their destination and then strip the car.
I think that Igla system is doing that

What about serving the car with dealers. Do you have to change it.
Installing this in my brand new Toyota Corolla. Don't care if it's a Corolla. My old car was rear ended and deemed a write off and I was taking a bus for 10 months until I got my new car. Worse experience ever. I live in Canada and they're stealing any vehicle they can get their hands on so getting an immobilizer is better than no car.
Where in canada and what company install the ghost mobilzer and what is the cost?

Thanks for the awesome video. I am planning to get the Ghost Immobiliser soon. I want to know if I can turn Ghost Immobiliser system off when I give the car for service or if the system has Valet mode/temporary mode. I don’t want to reveal my code to Valet or even the authorised dealer whilst the car is getting parked or even serviced. If this does not have that option are you aware of any other immobiliser that has this option available?

That’s not an issue you can just put the car into valet mode

This Ghost2 should have simple 1 one more thing function, every time when someone open the driver door while engine running You should have put the code again.
Simple immo units for £10-15 have it but why not in £500 worth Ghost?

What if you disconnect the battery for a few weeks? Will the ghost still work when yiu reconnect or does it need constant battery power to work?

Immobilizers can break down while driving thus bringing the car to a complete halt . Is there a bypass switch for the complete unit somewhere in the event this happens ?
With the ghost this will never happen, as it’s imbedded into the cars wiring loom and is apart of the can system once deactivated it stays dormant until the ignition is cycled
what happens when the button breaks you have used to set it.
Just had my wifes car taken at midday in a busy carpark! It was a 10 plate smax, i thought it would never happen to us and it did! Will deffo get one of these fitted if we have keyless again?
Do they only work on electric selector auto cars or do they work on manual cars too? I dont see how a canbus system will detect a mechanical gear select...

Immobilizer cuts the engine out, type of gearbox doesn't matter
fuel cut off and a battery cutoff switch is much cheaper
I’m getting a brand new car very soon and it has keyless entry and I’m thinking of getting this on my car but I’m a bit worried if it ramdomly don’t work etc …. Or you forgot the codes etc ….

What happens if you have to take your car to service? Surely they’d need to have your code to test drive the car after servicing it? Or can you amend / disable the code for that purpose?

You disable it before taking it to the garage
It has a service valet mode that allows it to be started and driven but if it goes over 32mph it will reactivate the code. So if the take fir road test, drive over 32mph and then drive it onto a ramp 9f the garage, it will need tge code to start again.
Hey brother had this installed and the car got stolen within 60 secs after switching the engine off ? How is this possible ?
Can they just disconnect the battery & re connect the battery to re start everything?
No it’s fitted in to can-bus like original cars immobiliser. So taking battery power off then re connect would make no difference.
I recommend can phantom over this device tho.

Can you program the locks and trap the thief inside?
You can do that from your phone. I have the Mercedes Me app with remote access function. You can lock the car and the app warns you that the car will double lock and not be able to be unlocked from inside.
What about manual cars?
Does it stop them from getting car into neutral/release handbrake and loading on back of a truck?
Yeah but that's a lot of effort if that's your only resort. Less chance of that happening and if it does, they would get your car regardless of a Ghost or not

i have one problem with this ghost....I have had it installed , however once it is put in gear it shuts off...theif runs BUT ...iti s now in neutral....it will roll away on any incline. thats a problem
Don't know how old your car is but all my recent cars automatically go into park when engine is turned off.

@@user-jo6ou1xo4b in that case I'm assuming the wiring is connected to differentiate between an auto-stop/auto-start and switching off at the stop/start button. But what if the car stalls, will then also restart?

Living in South Africa and knowing how our local guys work, it's only a matter of time before they're familiar with this system. They kill for a cellphone, or less. During a hijacking they'll check if it cuts out, and if it does, they'll threaten to kill you if you don't give them the code, and even if you do, there's still a good chance they'll kill you simply because you have the system.

can you install Ghost on a non-keyless car?
Yes
But what stops them from taking it off
they dont know where it is, only the fitter has a record. If you ever dont want it, it just gets deactivated no need to remove it.
What happens when it’s MOT time ?
You put it in service mode

You would have to locate a dealer in India

The device is imbedded into the wiring loom of the vehicle and is very difficult to find

Yes but you will need to find a installer to install the hardware

You will need a ghost immobiliser approved installer to carry out the install unfortunately this is not something you can do yourself
This is system can be by passed. Two cases I know of now

No you don't. It works with start stop. It only kicks in if the ignition is interrupted!
What happens when your car is at a garage for repair or MOT :/
You can put the car into service mode whilst it’s at the garage, this will allow the vehicle to be started
Better deactivate the start/stop feature.
In all honesty if it’s stolen my insurance will pay me for the vehicle so I will just get a new vehicle. But yes it’s cool.

@@itsimty very true but in all honesty if you have a newer vehicle most likely insurance will pay you more then what a trade in value is so you can get a brand new vehicle for nothing. That’s a score to me.. lol
You compromise your insurance price and things though. Have to say you’ve made a claim in the past X amount of years. Have to go through the hassle of finding another car. If it’s your only vehicle in the household then you’ve suddenly got not car. Insurance can take months to pay out sometimes. Any personal possessions you had in the car are gone. I’ve just had my fiesta st stolen and I wasn’t really clued up on how easy it was to take modern day cars and I live in a nice area so don’t really have problems with theft, but was visiting my girlfriend near London and that’s where it was stolen. I loved the car to bits and wish I knew about ghost systems etc before but sadly I’ve had to learn the hard way and I’m devastated about it
@@TimmyTheSnail same thing happened to me, came down to visit my mother for new years. Parked up, went sleep, came back next day my fiesta was gone😭 terrible feeling, still waiting on my insurance to payout.
