    I met Logan at last years US GP. While every driver left in their fancy cars, Logan just walked out of the paddock with the rest of the team. He was probably quite tired since it was later at night, yet he still took pictures with anyone who wanted one.
    He’s definitely a stand out guy.

      The "fancy" cars are security measures since F1 drivers are high profile people. Albon would ride with the team in a bus when he could. The best he'll get in Williams now is a Mercedes van.

    More fun facts about Logan's 2021:
    - Literally carried the worst team of the grid to 5th in constructors (Scored 103 points out of Charouz's total of 127)
    - Finished 7th overall, ahead of two Prema's in the process, only ART's, Hauger's Prema, and the Tridents (all top cars) were ahead of him in the standings.
    - Got a win and 4 podiums (Charouz's first EVER in the category)
    -In case you're thinking this was all a fluke, guess where Charouz finished in 2022?
    Yep... Straight back to dead last.
    Oh and Josh, just a heads up, it's pronounced "Ka-rooz" btw.

    Also important to point out that in his 2022 F2 campain, he raced in the last weekend being the only driver with everything to lose. And it showed.
    He was very nervous, but did a solid (and understandbilly conservative) drive to secure the points he needed. Lawson did great in that weekend and overtook Logan in the standings. However, the kiwi had waaaaaaay more xp in F2 than Sargeant. To be only one point behind a great and more experienced teammate and with the asterisk of his situation in the last weekend, is a great achiviement.
    Looking forward to seeing him this season!

    • @7or7Channel

      The sprint format also helped Lawson keep within touching distance of Logan throughout the season

    • @pirozcontractor6006
      @pirozcontractor6006 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Tbf everyone was also expecting Lawson to fight for the championship now that he had a top Carlin drive for it.
      Granted he had horrid luck, but so did Sargeant at Monza (Doohan colliding with him) and most especially France where he could have at least been on the podium, if not win (that too for the third time in a row after Silverstone and Austria), due to a mechanical issue during the feature race.

    • @cato51
      @cato51 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Lawson probably had the most unlucky season of any driver in F2 last year, only driver who ever came close to the bad luck he had was probably Doohan. Sargeant also had some bad luck, however he also benefited from the bad luck of others sometimes. For example, in Austria where he finished 4th on the road but inherited a feature race win from everyone ahead of him getting either penalised or disqualified. Overall he was the second best qualifier but it didn't mean much since his starts were so poor. He also really lacked consistency and would have good pace one weekend and no pace others. He seemed really prone to make mistakes under pressure which led to some pretty awful results like in Zandvoort.
      Fortunately this first year will mainly just be him adjusting to F1, and since he's in a Williams he's not really expected to score any impressive results. However, he is probably entering F1 prematurely and normally would have done a second season of F2 if Williams didn't have an open seat with no one to put in it. Sometimes drivers seem to perform a lot better when they make the step up, other times it's too much pressure. However, I think being in a Williams is really lucky for him because there is way less pressure on him. His main focus should just be learning to adjust and not crashing, he should only be expected to start being competitive in his second year. However, how good of a driver he will eventually be is still quite unknown.

      I disagree. Brock Beard has made some incredible films about driver's lives. Mind you, they're all NASCAR drivers, but they are higher quality than what Josh puts out. Brock also only does a handful of films per year, while Josh puts out a lot more content, so it may just be the amount of time they put in that makes the difference. Both are great storytellers though

    I would even say that 1 year of learning is a little too harsh for a lot of rookies. Look at Yuki. Last year was terrible and granted it could not get much worse but he did improve. That's what I think needs to happen in the second year. The first year is there to make mistakes, get to grips with how this game works. The second year is to try to get into the game with still some mistakes but more understanding and improvement to the previous year. It shows that you can learn and progress with seasons to come. If that happens then you should be granted a 3rd year where you have to show that you can be fast. This is also the reason why I thought it unfair that Mick was dumped after this season. Last year was hardly a learning year and he did significantly improve in the second half of the season which I feel like should have granted him a chance to prove himself next year. Especially with that 1st year's dog of a car.

    It could literally be 'Florida man Wins Karting Event' and probably because he was high on cocaine and heroine and thought he was playing MarioKart on N64 but did super good. Love him to prove me wrong but this crop of f1 drivers are more than good. I'd be humbly surprised if Logan stays in F1 for more than 2 years. If he does, I'll accept all of Hamilton's WDC's as fact. (That's a big thing for me).

    His Grandfather was a Navy Commander I believe so that was a good description of his name. This kid has been on it since his first minimax race. This was before he had all the best equipment. I took my sons kart, Logan’s and his brothers karts and equipment to the race. We had 2 mechanics helping us. Technically it was for fun, but Logan won and pretty much won everything after that. If he didn’t break he almost always won. When he ran the winter tour, he won that also. For those of you that don’t know, the Florida Winter Tour is loaded with talent. I think it starts at 8 year olds and goes up from there. We had people from as far away as Australia running. A lot of big money South Americans and Canadians. USA doesn’t lack for talent in Karting, but to have a shot at an F1 seat without a real American team is a pipe dream. American drivers get crapped on in Europe so his only real hope was to move there so everyone would get used to him kicking their asses. Which he did. Just for a short list of kids he drove against, F1-Latifi, Strohl, Fitipaldi’s Indy-Gabby Chavez, O-Ward, Kyle Kirkwood, DeFrancesco, Ferruci, and a few others, IMSA-Nunez, DeQuesada, Lazare and others. He also got some coaching from Oz Negri, Castroneves and a few other former F1 and Indy drivers. Racing was a lot of fun in S Florida, and with people like Strohl, DeFrancesco, O-Ward, Latifi and many others, there was plenty of money with top notch equipment and coaching here. Of all the kids here, we figured Pietro and Enzo would get a shot using their Grandfather Emerson’s name, and there were other kids that were great drivers, but Logan had the whole package. Level head, quick learner, easy to coach along with enough money to get close, and of course, unshakable speed. As hard as it is to get into F1, this isn’t a surprise to me at all.

    As an American, thank you for making this. Not many of us know who Logan is. I think there is a few American drivers that could compete in F1, it’s awesome to see an American follow the European ladder system and prove to be successful. I hope Williams doesn’t end up as a bottom feeder this year, and I hope this opens up opportunity for Logan.
