This explains why my first ferret and I bonded so well. Story time: when I bought my first ferret I was working at a local pet store. She was the last of the litter, and at the time she was VERY nippy and drew blood on just about anyone who handled her. I was wearing a leather jacket at the time and decided to attempt to get her to like me, and it went well. She crawled through the sleeves of my jacket and was even chewing on the wallet in my pocket. She didn't bite me at all. I did this a few times out of the week to bond with her and now she is my companion ❤ BTW if anyone knows of a high quality cat food to feed my ferrets which one should I go for??
I'm not a ferret owner but I use Hills science diet, wellness core , and blue buffalo for my cat. They are all high quality brands and hills has a few different formulas with different ingredients. Look into to them and see if they meet the needs of ferrets.
Cat Cat - I don’t usually recommend Hills because of the additives which wouldn’t be suitable for an obligate carnivore. I recommend (for kibble) Wysong (they also have freeze dried raw) and Fromm.
The last point you made is so true, one of my neighbours actually lost their ferret a few weeks ago and has been putting up posters all around my area. I think they escaped through an opened window. :(
I have 8 ferrets. Yes expensive but their mommy's babies. I have one who is an escape artist. But she just showed me where to reinforce. They all have their own personalities, and I just adore them. I rescued five of them. Well readopted them because their owners needed to rehome them. I had 10, but one had a bad heart, and one broke his back. It just broke my heart, losing my babies. I use the ferret nation cages, 3 double sets hooked together. And an enclosure attached to the outside. They are spoiled rotten. My Cleo is like your Dobby she only weighs 1.5 lbs and really healthy. My largest is 3.5 lbs. All different colors. I watched many of your videos before getting my babies, so thank you so much. They have made me laugh more than any Animal.. your great videos are awesome. Thank You.
Gosh i am obsessed with Ferrets. I will probably never own one but i love watching videos about them. I just love how they tend to steal everything and how they are super playful! :)
My old lady ferret used to love to wiggle and dance in front of my bearded dragons enclosure. We have him on the floor so I can open the door for him to come and go as he pleases. They never interacted outside together but she tried SO hard to get him to play
It’s SOOOO hard to find ferret content videos. Especially on TH-cam. Your channel has the only actual helpful ferret advice & information I’ve seen so far.

They make a spray called bitter apple. It's pretty safe on carpet and wood from my experience. Do NOT spray the ferret, spray the area they are going. Also - make sure their litter pan is clean or they will continue to look for another place to go.
My step son dumped his ferret with us 3 years ago ( he is now a 31 years old and extremely successful). My husband and I LOVE this darn creature! She is a very small ferret and so much fun. She has given us several proverbial heart attacks because she got outside and just happened to walk up and we found her but the worst and $500 US later was when I washed her full cycle in a front loader😩 We rushed her to the closest vet that would take her 25 minutes away and she wasn’t looking too good. Hypothermia. We prayed for her all night and the next morning the vet called and said she was acting like nothing ever happened. She has been normal ever since! I was panicking a couple months ago when I could not find her for 27 hours. I heard a scratch noise in the kitchen. My ferret had gotten closed in the towel drawer. Love these babies but you have to be soooooo careful with them. I give her 4- 10 hours full reign of our home most days.
when I had ferrets my mom got them collars with a little jingle bell so we could always find them. also we didn't let them free roam unless we were watching them.
Thank you for the part about Marshall ferrets !! I got my ferret from a pet store 7 years ago (before I was educated on the ethics of buying mass-produced animals), and she has really been going downhill fast recently. I’m taking her to the vet this week because I noticed hair loss on her tail and what looks like it could be the beginning of a mast cell tumor... I honestly don’t know what i’m going to do if anything happens to her :( What I do know is that i’m never going to get a ferret from a store that sources from Marshall farms again. It’s rescue ferrets only from now on.
I think there should be pet cafés where people can enjoy a variety of animals to play with to get the novelty out of their system and actually be sure if they want that kind of pet. But there's no obligation to buy them, they're just fully for show and they can direct you to respectable stores that sell the animal. Then you can see and play with ferrets, parakeets, snakes, hamsters, hedgehogs, etc without unfit owners buying them just because they're cute.
I rescued my three girls, they all came to me at different times but they have bonded with one another and with me. So lucky to have them. I highly recommend people doing their research and looking at rescues or joining groups on facebook as some times people try to rehome them on there.
This is SPOT ON! So many people I know think they’re like rodents where they can just be caged all day and I always said it was more like having a cat or a dog. I had 2 and sadly had to rehome mine after starting college a few years ago
Thank you so much for this video, great information. Love that you promote a raw diet and talk about the cons of ferret keeping! They look insanely cute but they are quite a high maintenance animal :D

@@Emzotic thank you for replying I'm very excited for it! Would love to work with animals someday and your channel is very amazing and helpful! Going on three years of faithfully watching! I Started wtching with your video about how to deal with pet loss and have watched ever since!❤
Cons: the last time I held a ferret (at a Petco) it snuggled up under my jaw, which was adorable, but then it tried to pierce my ear with its needle-sharp little canine teeth. So, while ferrets are SOMETIMES fun to interact with, owning one is going to be a no from me.
I’ve always wanted a ferret as a pet but what’s stopping me is that they bite quite a lot and I’m scared of the bites hurting, which is weird because I’ve had many animals like rabbits, guineapigs and hamsters 😄 But watching your adorable ferrets always make me smile, especially cute little Dobby!! They’re so sweet and melt my heart 💖💖
I had a friend who owned five ferrets, two males and three females, she kept them in their own ferret proofed room instead of a cage, but boy did her house have a smell, I never minded it and the ferrets were friendly and hyper and did the whole ferret wiggle lol when she moved she had to give them away though
Great video as usual. I love my ferret Sasha she brings me such joy and laughter and been with me on roadtrips. I plan on getting a 2nd one when she around 1 year old. She around 7/8 months now. So much fun!
Frequent baths are bad, but I've had great luck just letting them play in a shallow bath. No soap or anything, just water and a couple of rubber duckies. I find that they love playing in the water.
At one point, I had 5 ferrets. 4 were adopted. They were the best pets I ever had. and while many don't suggest having ferrets around small kids, all 5 were wonderful to my two small kids who use to love watching them as the ferrets played with each other. My only female ferret was the absolutely sweetest ferret, and was NOT a Marshall ferret. the biggest cons to having ferrets is, 1. short life span 2. smell 3. medical bills. 4. missing pairs of shoes.
They do smell but I don't think it's as bad as everyone thinks. My ferret sleeps around my room and roams around my house and the house doesn't stink (unless he poops somewhere). The bedding kind of smells but in my opinion it isn't such a bad smell (I like the smell of my baby lmao). But other people who aren't used to it might not. I used to live in a tiny apartment with two ferrets and friends never or rarely commented on the smell. Trust me, your life won't be ruined by their odour, it'll be ruined by their mischief lol !
I worked at a Petco that had ferrets and cleaning out their cage was such a pain. One of the employees worked on potty training them, but they are such trouble!!! They are babies too so sometimes an employee would just stand there with one and try to play and just get bit a bunch 😂
I've had ferrets my whole life and never really found them to be very smelly. The only time was when we had to get temporary food, due to moving and the store being out of their usual brand, and oh...my..god...it was horrible. Felt so bad for their little tummies.
Their musk isn't bad. It's the poop and pee inside their enclosure. unless you are cleaning it constantly 3 times daily making sure there is no poop and pee, they are absolutely smelly. You could also be nose blind.
We had a ferret when I was growing up on a farm. One snowy night he chewed thru the dryer exhaust tube and got outside and my dad found him sitting at the back door with one of our cats waiting to be let in lmao
can you please make a video on kiba's diet? (overall, not necessarily the one you're following in quarantine) since lockdown I have not been able to figure out what all I can give my dog.
I had a ferret when I was young. I was not a good owner for her in retrospect but through her I learned to love their smell. I miss her so much and hope to have them again some day
I've been watching these videos all day so far. I've been considering a Ferret for a while and have wanted to learn more. I've taken care of Guinea Pigs, Hamsters and Mice. I'm definitely subscribing!
PRO: they smell really good 🤤 I always heard ferrets were smelly, which I took as a bad thing, but when I got the pleasure of meeting one I discovered that I REALLY LIKE IT! It is a strong, distinct odor, and it is rather musty, but it doesn't register to me as a dirty smell! Far better than human BO (;
Just wanted to say something There is an account that pretty much abuses her ferret on tiktok, her @ is Fiona_carton (as i remember) The first video I've ever seen from her is her dying her ferrets fur, rainbow. She used chalk, and most people say its chalk pastels, though she claims its non-toxic and safe, and she blocks anyone who calls her out, just thought i should say something, and I'm not sure if you already know or not, but oh well
My ferret figured out how to push my computer chair over to my cabinet where my fish was so she could get a good look at it. She was too small to get in directly, but she managed to tip the bowl repeatedly and move it to the edge of the shelf before I got home to stop her. There was just enough water for my beta to survive when I walked in the room. Nothing short of direct intervention could stop her once she decided to do something.
Hahahahah- that took me back. I had four ferrets and they were just the chilliest ferrets you would ever see, they would rarely run around even though we gave them everything. They just were really calm, idk why but yeah. We had them for almost 7 years it was kinda funny watching other people with ferrets talk about how crazy their ferrets were.
I honestly watched just to see your ferrets again, they are so adorable! :D I know a person who got a ferret but did not spend much time with it and they did not bond right away, then she left the animal by itself for a while with her parents and they obviously didn't try to bond with ferret either, so when she was back, that ferret was as wild as a weasel from woods, very aggressive as well...not sure what happened in the end but I guess that you can't let a ferret be alone by herself, I would say they are high maintenance when it comes to attention! Lovely animals

@@Emzotic Thank you I didn't realize they had additives, I will check out your recommendations.
I feed my ferrets both Wysong and Instict cat food . I mix it to make it easy if I ever need to switch between one or another
Feed raw x
My 3 month old daughter watched this with me. She's recently learned how to laugh and LOVED watching/laughing at dobby and niffler. ❤️
Ashley Reed clever girl , doing that at 3 months !
The last point you made is so true, one of my neighbours actually lost their ferret a few weeks ago and has been putting up posters all around my area. I think they escaped through an opened window. :(
Aww that’s so sad. I hope they find them xx
Did they find the ferret?
Did they ever find the ferret?
They’re really wonderful!
My old lady ferret used to love to wiggle and dance in front of my bearded dragons enclosure. We have him on the floor so I can open the door for him to come and go as he pleases.
They never interacted outside together but she tried SO hard to get him to play
Hahahaha awwwwww that’s adorable!
It’s SOOOO hard to find ferret content videos. Especially on TH-cam. Your channel has the only actual helpful ferret advice & information I’ve seen so far.
They are soooo worth it
@@mechelkravitz2909 oh I know, I’ve spent time with many when I lived in Nevada now that I’m in California I currently cannot get one due to them being illegal here. But I plan on moving to Texas in the next 4-5 years so I’ll definitely be getting a pair then!
How to stop your ferret from pooping on that one specific spot on your room
Good grief! What a little terror! 🤣
when I had ferrets my mom got them collars with a little jingle bell so we could always find them. also we didn't let them free roam unless we were watching them.
tychodancer great idea! Thank you!
@@susanlester1 you're welcome :)
You belong in jail, sick fuck. Do you think you'd get away with accidentally washing your human baby in the washing machine?
"They're kind of addictive.."
My obsession with ferrets: *Yes.*
It’s rescue ferrets only from now on.
this is quite a bit later but i hope everything went well with your ferret!
How’s it going mate
@@dannyboy2005 Unfortunately we lost her about a month after I posted this comment
The beginning was spot on 😂❤️ love your content 😁
Hahaaha! Thank you so mucb
my ferret speaks, hisses, and growls at me and my family..
its 12am and i just watched a 9minute video on why i should get ferrets.
life is good.
This is SPOT ON! So many people I know think they’re like rodents where they can just be caged all day and I always said it was more like having a cat or a dog. I had 2 and sadly had to rehome mine after starting college a few years ago
I’m glad you responsibly rehomed yours ❤️
Thank you so much for this video, great information. Love that you promote a raw diet and talk about the cons of ferret keeping!
They look insanely cute but they are quite a high maintenance animal :D
Thank you so much! Raw is best. Sadly Niffler and Dobby turn their nose up at it, but I won’t stop trying!
Em: Dobby, let me see what you have!
Dobby: Scissors! 😈
Em: NO!!
Hahahahaa pretty much
Yes
Ok
I don't know if I would ever get a ferret but they're so cute
They’re the best!!
Do it they're the best
YOUR FINALLY BACK!! I hope it’s to stay!!
Yes indeed! I uploaded 4 weeks in a row - be sure to check them out if you haven’t! X
It sucks I live in Cali and unfortunately people still breed ferrets in their homes for a quick buck :/ like 1. They're illegal and 2. Why
Parent: Dont run with the scissors!!!
Ferret: Runs with scissors... backwards 😂
My Meeka steals bras and hides them. She's addicted to them!!!
That’s so funny!!! Dobby loves my socks, and Kiba loves my bras!
Emzotic 🤣🤣🤣🤣. My bunnies love to take my socks off my feet.
Kaylee's Korral awwww
Oh, when a ferret does it its cute, but when i do it its "What are you doing in my house" and "I'm calling the police"
@@apparition4196 😂😂
Emzotic I LOVE how you are making more ferret videos but let’s turn it up from 40 to 100 with a ferret fun 3
Yes ma’am!
i had a ferret as a kid, i convinced my mom to get me one. suzy (my ferret) was so adorable and playfull, i agree with like 100% of what you said including that it's not a pet for children, better suited for more adult owners
How old were you when you got one

Em, this is one of the funnest, cutest "about an animal" videos I've ever seen! You are really great at hosting and informing!
Me waiting to become 25 so I can get a ferret without anyone being upset
I could have my own home and family but my mom could never let me...
Dobbie looks like he's always wearing a mask lol they are so cute! Watching them play with the doggos are so cute. Keep it up em! 😊
"They're kind of addictive." Very true!! I'm adopting a third one tomorrow. 😂😂
Loved this video! Ferrets seem amazing for the right person! I just ordered you book and am so excited!!!!!! It arrives Monday 🙌🙌🎉🎉🎉🎉
Oooh that’s so kind of you to be supporting my book. Thank you!!!
@@Emzotic thank you for replying I'm very excited for it! Would love to work with animals someday and your channel is very amazing and helpful! Going on three years of faithfully watching! I Started wtching with your video about how to deal with pet loss and have watched ever since!❤
Having my little Lela around were the happiest years of my life, RIP.
This is the best TH-cam video I have ever watched. I got 20 Seconds in and all of my questions were answered!
Ferrets are definitely the cutest pets.
I miss waking up with a numb arm, because Moz would be lying on it. He really loved cuddles.
Cons: the last time I held a ferret (at a Petco) it snuggled up under my jaw, which was adorable, but then it tried to pierce my ear with its needle-sharp little canine teeth. So, while ferrets are SOMETIMES fun to interact with, owning one is going to be a no from me.
Yep! They can be nippy!
That's why you train them. They are nippy as babies. Also every ferret has a different personality. One of mine doesn't bite at all
And they are always fun to interact with, even when they are nippy. Wow ok lol
"They are chaotic demons" 😂
No lies detected
Five ferrets would definitely be fragrant!
Irresponsible of her.
Karma Paradox i agree but at least she tried to give them to people who would properly care for them
I have four ferrets. They're the absolute loves of my life. They're just so full of energy and enthusiasm.
Pro: "ferrets sleep almost all day"
Bruh mine does not EVER sleep
Thank you. I told my family to listen to this and now I can get a second ferret 💕💕 thank you so much
This helped me so much! I am getting a ferret soon. I had never had many pets before so I am researching as much as I can before I get one.
I’m so glad!!! Yes, keep researching!
Great video as usual. I love my ferret Sasha she brings me such joy and laughter and been with me on roadtrips. I plan on getting a 2nd one when she around 1 year old. She around 7/8 months now. So much fun!
god i had one before, and although they do smell nasty i could care less they’re so playful and freaking adorable
I came for a ferret video but I'm obsessed with the greenery in the background. Especially those behind the glass. They look so calming to watch *.*
I share my home with two babies & they’re honestly the best decision of my life💖
That’s wonderful to hear!!
Awwww I mean, you tried!!! 🤣
They need time to learn, but it doesn't take long at all if you're persistent! Mine usually learned where to use the bathroom within a week.
@@Emzotic they were always fun to play with!!
@@DozingGreen-fz6rg I can imagine! Doesnt help when theres 4 or 5 mischievous ferrets in a tank too small. Not an ideal potty training setup haha
His face at the beginning with his tiny claws was too cute
I've had ferrets my whole life and never really found them to be very smelly. The only time was when we had to get temporary food, due to moving and the store being out of their usual brand, and oh...my..god...it was horrible. Felt so bad for their little tummies.
what kind of did you usually give them?
What food did you give them
Don't you love when they don't answer the questions everyone is asking: what did you feed them normally.
Their musk isn't bad. It's the poop and pee inside their enclosure. unless you are cleaning it constantly 3 times daily making sure there is no poop and pee, they are absolutely smelly. You could also be nose blind.
Bro what brand was their usual meals??
We had a ferret when I was growing up on a farm. One snowy night he chewed thru the dryer exhaust tube and got outside and my dad found him sitting at the back door with one of our cats waiting to be let in lmao
Omg you and your animals are so cool !!! you are one of my idols love you so much !!!!🤩🐌❤️❤️❤️

I was getting mad because of all these ads, but my mood changed when I saw the ferret. I was like damn!
Those such cons in this video won’t stop my dream of owning ferrets when I get my own house(I loved this video)

Speedy is such a great name for a ferret ❤️
I had a ferret when I was young. I was not a good owner for her in retrospect but through her I learned to love their smell. I miss her so much and hope to have them again some day
I remember when I first got my ferrets using the Cibble I’m so glad I did more research and got there diet figured out ❤️
Great job!
Emzotic ❤️
I've been watching these videos all day so far. I've been considering a Ferret for a while and have wanted to learn more. I've taken care of Guinea Pigs, Hamsters and Mice. I'm definitely subscribing!
PRO: they smell really good 🤤
I always heard ferrets were smelly, which I took as a bad thing, but when I got the pleasure of meeting one I discovered that I REALLY LIKE IT! It is a strong, distinct odor, and it is rather musty, but it doesn't register to me as a dirty smell! Far better than human BO (;
Just wanted to say something
There is an account that pretty much abuses her ferret on tiktok, her @ is Fiona_carton (as i remember)
The first video I've ever seen from her is her dying her ferrets fur, rainbow. She used chalk, and most people say its chalk pastels, though she claims its non-toxic and safe, and she blocks anyone who calls her out, just thought i should say something, and I'm not sure if you already know or not, but oh well
Why would you put this if you don’t know her @?
@@UwU-sj9xu because i forgot it, but its Fiona_carton i may have spelled it wrong, but there it is
I really want to get a ferret but my mom doesn’t let me get any. I did so much research tho... 😖
Same here dude
I can understand you both. I wasn’t allowed ferrets when I lived with my parents either, because they really couldn’t stand animal smells.
You should’ve done some research on your mother too.
@@HeySadEye that's funny lol
@@jadenplayzrobloxminecraft9766 same lol so now im doing a bunch of research for no reason
Right my ferrets sleeping next my bed right now. I think people just don't play with them enough
I have been wanting a ferret for the longest! I will definitely wait until I have my own place so I have enough space for these cutie pies 😍 they’re forsure a pet i want before I leave this world. Thank you for the video, lovely💖
