Another amusing observation from the this watch that watch guy is criticizing Patek’s style drift. He called the sportier looking calatrava “when your dad tries to look cool” … but isn’t. That says Patek knows where Rolex is headed…at them.
Did you calculate the average price of the releases? If you chart that average in the last few years, you’ll probably see a trend 📈 . They are moving up market. How many buyers are there in that higher level? Fewer than at $10k, that’s for sure. This is why I’m puzzled with this rumored second Rolex factory to increase their output from ~1 million a year to more than that. If you look at the brands in top stratum in prices (Patek, AP, RM) you see much lower volumes (because there aren’t that many billionaires out there).
No not many billionaires but millions of millionaires and that’s their market. They know they could sell their watches three times over so even if they double output they can still play their silly games.
I do love the GMT Master2 Batman, but dont like the price, all credit to Rolex they are great marketers and sellers,be loads of interest in their 2024 models.
Rolex sold 20% more volume in watches for 6% value sales when comparing 2023 to 2021. Meanwhile, AP, Patek and RM all gained market share. Rolex is trying to premiumise because it's market share has plateaued. Meanwhile, Tudor lost market share and sales fell behind Hermes. So…the gold releases are a desperate attempt at this, whilst Tudors crowd pleasers/ Rolex homages are equally hoping to win you back. IWC launched some high horology and stunning updates, probably worth more airtime.
Completely agree. The Morgan Stanley report was really enlightening this year in terms of showing how Rolex growth has stalled and Tudor market share is in decline
The full gold Deepsea is the ultimate FY watch the market needed. And the ugly Daytonas will be hugely appreciated by the crowd attending the next Paris fashion week. Well done Rolex. 😉
Yeah, sums it up really. Rolex clearly had that paragon of bad taste Liberace in mind when ‘designing’ its 2024 releases. And like him, they’re “crying all the way to the bank”. Shame he’s not around to be one of its brand ambassadors - the fit would be perfect. 😆😂🤣
@@Escapement24 Of course I did! Your comments on the Rolex announcement are dead on! I can’t understand the hype for the same watch with a different colour! Rolex is getting most of the media coverage while other brands with real innovations are mentioned in a half sentence.
And the other part no one talks about is how many the ADs knowingly sell to grey market dealers. Let's also not forget that they also supply to Jomashop!
Totally agree. It's all about flex with Rolex now. You are wording my thoughts!
Glad to be of service 🙏
'A gem-set dual just to make it more expensive.' 🤣 A lot of these watches really do feel like that.
This probably won’t do you any favours with Rolex fanboys, but the reality is what you’re saying is true, this is the direction they are going in.
Tudor is clearly the place to go for sports watches in the future

I'll check it out! 👍
I’m not sure I know this brand. I exclusively wear brands from North Korea.
I’m with you. These releases are literally disgusting. I don’t recognize this brand anymore.

Really interesting point actually 🤔

Anyone notice how you cant time speed with that new diamond Daytona as it does'nt have a tachymeter , why bother ?
Very expensive fashion jewellery!

Replacing the tachymeter scale with diamonds was a masterstroke
Spot on 😂

💯😂😂
Brilliant! 👍
If you're referring to the video rather than the watches then Thank You!! 🙏

Coming off a little whinny... What is it? 39% of the market?
Sold to ADs, not directly to consumers. That part is never talked about. Rolex is essentially a wholesale distributor

Rolex running out of ideas...
Please come out with something original and stop complaining about something you cant control. You may get more views!!!
Isn't that all watch vlogs?
