Great interview. I am so grateful to have trained with Derek in IFS Stepping Stone in 2023. May his spirit be dancing free. Derek's Goodbye video (on his TH-cam channel) is so moving and inspiring. Thank you for sharing this conversation.

Derek put a video out recently & I can’t stop thinking about it - he is about to become a ancestor & is passing away from cancer. I am very sad & I don’t even know him.

Derrick ‘s last video dropped into my feed as well and although I was familiar with him he was not someone that I regularly sought out but the universe (disguised as TH-cam, ) I believe sent his video my way so that I would revisit the topic of IFS which is part of my healing journey.

I really enjoyed listening to your conversation, and appreciated hearing about how IFS changed your experience of being a therapist, John. I also never tire of hearing Derek's simply worded but deep-hearted questions "Oh, the part of you that wants to get rid of that (other) part, would it be ok with that one, if we got to know it?" or "Hey, what happened? How come you feel so badly? Who told you you were unlovable?" Looking forward to listening to your other interviews. I am a big fan of Christine Dixon, so I am headed to that one next!
