I think in terms of buying your old games again it can help you decide what's really important and what's not. It also helps game companies what to focus on next that gets a positive feedback. It's also great to move onto bigger and better things. I like to keep a few of the classics but I'm more focused on what's next because sure I'll have my favorites but I'll never get the same feeling again by hoarding games I most likely won't play again. I like to pass those games onto someone else so they can experience it as well. I think you're right that backwards compatibility isn't vital. I loved the video man! :)
