One of the best things that happened to the switch as well, is Third-Party Support. And not just any third-party support, because what it did is give these titles a way to play them ANYWHERE. Titles like Darksiders, Skyrim, Witcher 3, Hollow Knight, Hades, Dark Souls, Final Fantasy 7/8/9/10/12, Dragon's Dogma, LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2, among others... It opened the possibility of gaming for those who want to game, but cant sit in front of the couch for a couple hours at a time. Because of the switch, i have crossed off game after game from my to play list, because i finally got chances to play them thanks to the portability.
I started my switch collection in 2019 right before Covid hit, with super Mario odyssey, it is the only game right next to pokemon fire red, where I wish I could turn back the time and replay it blind again. Now I stopped using my switch 2 months ago, after beating TOTK. A game that I had high hopes for but ultimately I was disappointed at the end. As the years went on, I noticed that the quality of games, started to drop off due to developers not caring, and the hardware being outdated. I was hoping I would’ve ended my switch tenure with a banger like how I started but after 50+ games and TOTK sealing the deal, I pick up my Zelda switch lite on the 26th and that will be my final switch product. I will keep my OLED to use to trade towards a new switch 2, if it ever releases, but for now I’m having a lot of fun on my steam deck and hopefully the new switch can win me back.
just bought a use switch lite today for 100 bucks and got physical zelda botw and totk with it. amazing value imo. I was looking for retro emulator handheld and i found that switch lite is the best systems out there price and performance wise.
I'm still playing games on this bad boi. In fact I just got done playing the Castlevania Dominus Collection on Switch (even though I have all the consoles) because it feels right at home. If you actually like playing games, you won't be done with your Switch until the next Nintendo thing comes out.
I think the best thing about the Switch is just barely begone. For years, so many of us gamers are looking for the best hand held on the go, so we can play our favorite games on the go. It's been decades and no device can really do it well. Once Nintendo moved on to a new device and no longer focus on the Switch, we will have full access to the Switch and able to install whatever we want on it, plus over-clocking the Switch to run the games better. This thing will be the ultimate gamming device on the go for years to come. So, hold on to this little thing, that day is fast approaching.
you can already install whatever you want on it, but you need to mod it, with most of the models needing a mod chip. When the switch is forgotten by nintendo, a mod chip won't magically be installed on your switch.
people forget just how cool this device was when it first came out. It has all the slick, good looking ness that legendary hardware has. And the gimmicks were jsut supreme. Controllers that are apart of the device as a handheld but also slide off in a satisfyingly way. AN awesome docking set up right out of the box. perfect!
i already have nostalgia for the switch. I remember when it was announced initially how excited i was for it and i remember buying it like two days after it came out waiting in a line for 4 hours at 7 in the morning. Its hard to believe how long ago that was. As many flaws as the system had, it will always have a place in my heart. Its hard to believe it came out when i was in 7th grade and now i'm already in college.

I've loved my Switch, but put it away about 6 months ago after finishing TOTK and haven't really picked it up since then (my Animal Crossing island must be overgrown with weeds). I've been on the PS5 scratching that Zelda RPG itch with AC Origins - Odyssey - Valhalla. Looking forward to Switch 2 news, it's been far too long! Thanks for th video
"They listened to all their fans in all their Ips" Pokemon fans: .... Dont get me wrong Legends Arceus was good, but the formula is still in the working stages and is overall head in the good direction. But what I mean is main line games and that DP remake, I cry about that sometimes.
Too soon to say thank you Switch 2 hasn’t been announced yet. You still have time to enjoy the rest of the switch games. And I think it could be next year for switch 2, or unfortunately 2-3 years.
Since im gen a i wasnt able to experience well.. Any of the hype of consoles but knowing this is first time i get to see the hype coming its fantastic.
I feel as though people are not going to buy the next console as much as they bought the switch. Not only did the switch innovate so much compared to the previous version, leaks are essentially pointing toward a switch 2. I think most people are only going to see the next version as the Switch pro and will not buy into it. This will end in something like the Meta Quest, where the quest 3 won't get many sales because of the small differences and the quest 2 will continue getting support and games because it's the most popular one. If they want to win the consumer, they have to have something very new, hopefully along with the personality the switch lacked (3DS software vs switch).
Probably Nintendo take this into account, they know that make the same console but more powerful it's not enough attention. Switch ideas I think works great, but need some strong new features, like new ways of play.
Why is everyone pretending like the Switch is going away when the Switch 2 is just a hardware upgrade? It's not even a completely new Nintendo console, just a glorified upgrade like the PS5 Pro lol
The themes is even crazier given all the rewards you can earn with the points system. Would have been cool to get themes for specific games like you can avatars.
well he is expecting the new nintendo console... for me i don't care about the new one.. i'm still having many unfinished business with nintendo switch
The switch has 20 games over 10 million sales all exclusive to the console... jesus. And not to mention 9 of those sold over 20 million... god dang. This console was a monster.
Time flies weirdly....it feels like the switch came out not long ago but at the same time feels ancient...btw pls drop that wallpaper link u are using for ur pc it's so pretty!
Love this tribute to the switch. I wonder if there was no themes to make the software never become outdated, seeing as it has a very flat and non era-specific so they could hapily not update it for a long time.
I'm never getting rid of my OLED. I have a V2 switch as well, and I plan on keeping both of them. A new release of the next gen switch will only make the original switch a nostalgic piece in due time.
Nice video bro but keep your head higher and eyes forward, also loosen up your shoulders. Your point on personality was my biggest gripe with the switch, I hope the next console will be like the 3ds in terms of themes.
Now it would be a great time to start homebrewing this console and also emulating their games to preserve them. Honestly the switch is fantastic I’m currently playing tsukihime on the switch and then the Xenoblade games.
Best console ever, but not the one I had most fun with. Probably because I'm too old to feel those emotions. Anyhow, I bought mine in 2020, and I have been using it for playing indie games mostly. That was a game changer for me. Naturally, I have Odissey, LM3, Wonder, Kart and some other exclusive titles which I still haven't played yet. So, still not a goodbye. Probably never, since I have a giant library of indie games to play too
I am very happy I forgot about the switch until last month when I decided to pick up an TOTK Oled model on eBay for $150 with many accessories. A very good deal mostly that the cost of Modchips are $10-$13.

But this is a great video good job!
thanks for checking it out!
Nintendo mentioned that the announcement for the switch 2 will be announced within this finiancial year, so fingers crossed not too long!
@@Nick404 rumours are saying march of next year, te be revealed this month!!
march is a year?
I heard that too!! @@alicemation
My Nintendo Switch Oled TOTK edition is only 4 months old. I just bought it 4 months ago. And I will be playing Snowrunner forever. I refuse to say goodbye.

I cant belive this thing actually held up for 7 years. I still have my day one seitch right next to my oleds and its been fun
The irony is even with how much of a mess the eshop is, I found some pretty cool indies through the eshop that I otherwise would've skipped over on other platforms for some reason.
Right i was scrolling for like 30mins then i found nazi zombie army 4 the newest one it was deep in the eShop I didn't even know it got ported there's been so many titles I've found like that. there's definitely some hidden gems
You were magnificent Nintendo Switch, I shall never forget you for as long as I live.

At the moment, the switch still has an amazing library. The next console have big shoes to fill, especially with the switch being one of the best consoles nintendo has ever released
I’ll always love and play my switch, there’s nothing that can stop that. This isn’t a goodbye it’s a “see you in a couple of years” situation
I must admit that I haven't been super involved with this generation. I've only played a few handful of games, and it has sorta been collecting dust...
I see this as a step-forward for myself. I'm going to jump into this next generation with my full attention. i'm hoping that Nintendo rewards me with another great system and more endless amounts of games to play. I look forward to it!
The switch is new for me and im having a blast. Owning a switch for a little over a year now.
Great recap of the Switch's life! From one beginner TH-camr to another, keep going, you definitely have what it takes to go big on the platform! Great job with the footage too. :)
Thank you!
I’m 33 and this was the first mainline Nintendo console I owned since they GameCube, it’s made me a bigger fan of Nintendo than at any point in my life.
I’ve never been more excited for a system than I am with the follow up to the Switch and that’s saying a lot with many systems I was there at for day one.
i cant believe you only have 126 subscribers you have a lot of talent
I’m so glad I came across this video! I feel like this should have way more views. This really took me back and reminded me about games I gotta play. Have a great day bro and thanks for making this :)
I will never get rid of mine. It is a masterpiece in it's own genre. 20 years from now, everyone will want it again.
*me buying a switch for the first time last week* "wait, there a new one now?"
Just bought a Switch Light for my daughter for this years Christmas gift. Than in the summer we are planning to get a Nintendo Switch for the family, so I'm personally super excited to dive into the huge library since I've been with PlayStation throughout all my gaming years and been missing the Nintendo exclusives.
Dude, this is such a great video! I’m calling it now, you’re gonna be big in the video game space on TH-cam
Switch is my favorite console maybe ever man, I really love playing games on it and buying the physical games. I love the flawed joycons, I love the different models (especially the OLED). Nintendo is on top and I hope it stays that way.
I completely forgot how pretty the totk switch oled looks. Kind of regret not buying one now..
The Switch can potentially have the same life span as the 3ds. Don't be quick to say bye.
It will even surpass it, the Nintendo switch was a gigantic success and the fact next year more games will come out means it won't end that soon.
@@dogidogediggidydogedd957 oh yeah I wouldn't be surprised. If they're gonna make a new hybrid console it better be as strong as the steam deck or more.
@@Israeli_Prince Totally agree, by how Dissapoiting this new generation of Consoles has been and how extremely dissapoiting the PS5 Pro release is I doubt this new switch will succeed. But let's see
@@Israeli_Princeit will definitely be underpowered, Nintendo has not released a hardware competitive console(not counting ds/gameboy handhelds) since the 64
@@kimhyunwoo8983 I wouldn't call the steam deck that powerful any more. A lot of other PC handheld surpass it. I'd say that level of performance would be a realistic expectation for a switch 2; although the switch is mobile based, so the performance comparison isn't really 1:1 with PC hardware.
I hope they make gaming more social again. I miss when games like Mario Kart DS allowed players to draw their own 32x32 avatar. I also miss Swapnote and Miiverse
Can we talk about how insanely aesthetic his desk set up is. That natural light and green would cure me
You have good taste in youtubers. MaximilianDood and Mystic are one of my favorites. Great video btw!
Thanks, yeah they're great! Been watching them both for years.
oh wow I didn’t realize this video was from a smaller channel the quality is great! you just earned a new sub 😊 can’t wait to hear more from you
Production quality is insane
Looks like the algorithm brought me here too. Great vid! The NSW is definitely my favorite console in a very long time.
It's not my favorite, but I do think it is the best console to come out in the past 7 years. It's the best console of this generation. It made valve, and other big pc names copy them😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@redcrimson1028 Last time I played on a console this much was the xbox 360. Then I just went back to PC since then. The 360 had such a good UI, online infrastructure, and it had the arcade store (what indie games are today).
@PimpMatt0 360 was a great platform. That's when Microsoft had actual gamers in their company that had a passion for creating games. I have a pc but I'm not a pc player. I much rather consoles over pc any day. I admit that consoles are trash now, Microsoft are thrbmain ones to blame. Gaming sucks now. Indies make thr best games now though
Damn. 400 subscribers? You'll get to a million in matter of months. Nice content and video quality. Subscribed man.
You ever play a hat in time?
Very high quality video, very well spoken and well done. You’ll do well man :)
Dude how do you have less than 500 subscribers? This is a fantastic video! Keep up the quality and you’ll go very far!
Bro what a gem of a channel. Subbed, can't wait to see you blow up.
I thought the thumbnail and title would be clickbait lol. I was wrong. Soothing voice + great points = excellent video!
Dude i thought you were like 1 mil subscribers because of the quality and confidence
just bought a use switch lite today for 100 bucks and got physical zelda botw and totk with it. amazing value imo. I was looking for retro emulator handheld and i found that switch lite is the best systems out there price and performance wise.
your videos are INSANELY high quality for only 800 subs you deserve more
That’s funny I just bought a switch lite and will def be playing it for the next decade, so fun
I'm still playing games on this bad boi. In fact I just got done playing the Castlevania Dominus Collection on Switch (even though I have all the consoles) because it feels right at home. If you actually like playing games, you won't be done with your Switch until the next Nintendo thing comes out.
That Pokémon ZA at the end had me dying lmao good shit man
and here i am just bought the Nintendo Switch a few months ago
And here I am, not even bought mine yet. 🤣 But a Zelda themed switch lite is in my future.
Mine arrived yesterday lmao
I am super ready for the new Switch. Life is good for gamers because I feel like the future is coming faster than ever and we are blessed
"full access" 😂
you can already install whatever you want on it, but you need to mod it, with most of the models needing a mod chip. When the switch is forgotten by nintendo, a mod chip won't magically be installed on your switch.
It's surprising how long this little thing has hold on for so long.
loved this retrospective man
Great video dude!! Keep it going! I can see your channel really growing
people forget just how cool this device was when it first came out. It has all the slick, good looking ness that legendary hardware has. And the gimmicks were jsut supreme. Controllers that are apart of the device as a handheld but also slide off in a satisfyingly way. AN awesome docking set up right out of the box. perfect!
Maybe they’ll finally make Super Mario Odyssey two
i already have nostalgia for the switch.
That thumbnail...now you're making me want to get Tears of the Kingdom Joy-Cons for my Splatoon 3 Switch lol.
A ridiculously well put together video. Seriously sheesh almighty lord have mercy
as a cozy gamer, i feel like the only thing missing from the switch catalogue, is a Nintendos esc game 😢 but the switch is still amazing tho!
Beautiful wallpaper, do you have a link for it?
Also, the editing was phenomenal, I thought you woulda had a couple hundred thousand subs with that quality. Earned a sub, keep up the good work!
Thanks! More on the way soon. The wallpaper is from an app on Steam called Wallpaper Engine. It's like $4 I believe and gives you access to tons of free animated wallpapers. Just search Legend of Zelda on the app.
I’m still on my first play through of BOTW that I started in 2017😂 only 50 ish hours in so the switch is still very much alive to me
Great vid man, love seeing folks with a similar size channel to mine making absolute bangers🙌 best of luck!
I would certainly like some more internal storage options. I'm maxing out that micro SD with the backlog.
Great vid by the way, enjoyed your thoughts on it.
I miss having a flip screen too, it was so satisfying to flip open the DS
awesome set, love the trees outside and stuff
That was my biggest part no themes! I always thought I should be able to by some.
I've been an Nintendo guy ever since I got my first NES as a wee one in the 80s.
The only thing that makes sense right now is to build upon this huge success my only hope is retro compatibility between switch 1 and 2
"They listened to all their fans in all their Ips"
Pokemon fans: ....
Dont get me wrong Legends Arceus was good, but the formula is still in the working stages and is overall head in the good direction. But what I mean is main line games and that DP remake, I cry about that sometimes.
Too soon to say thank you
Switch 2 hasn’t been announced yet. You still have time to enjoy the rest of the switch games. And I think it could be next year for switch 2, or unfortunately 2-3 years.
They already said they're announcing it before march of next year, so it's definitely releasing next year.
@@Squidveemo that would be great.
There’s still a bit of life in the lil beastie yet! Mind you I’m ready for something new - love my oled, love the games I’ve played too!
Well done on the video. Keep at it and you'll have quite a pretty penny in subs
I cant believe its already passed 7 years i remember buying it 7 years ago...😢
This thing will be around for decades on the 2nd hand market not just for switch games alone, but for the modded switch and lite scene
What kind of stuff does a modded switch offer?
I bought the nintendo switch 2 years ago
Last console was a ps2 and it feels like im back where it all started
Just got mine like the start of 2024 chill
Why is everyone pretending like the Switch is going away when the Switch 2 is just a hardware upgrade? It's not even a completely new Nintendo console, just a glorified upgrade like the PS5 Pro lol
The themes is even crazier given all the rewards you can earn with the points system. Would have been cool to get themes for specific games like you can avatars.
Good bye ? You were amazing? It still is amazing tf you talking about
well he is expecting the new nintendo console... for me i don't care about the new one.. i'm still having many unfinished business with nintendo switch
the trees in the back are smooth
The switch has 20 games over 10 million sales all exclusive to the console... jesus. And not to mention 9 of those sold over 20 million... god dang. This console was a monster.
And it's probably selling over 150 million units jesus Christ
surprised to see you only have 340 subs ngl
Hopefully the new switch come with wallpapers and we get Pokemon red and blue
Time flies weirdly....it feels like the switch came out not long ago but at the same time feels ancient...btw pls drop that wallpaper link u are using for ur pc it's so pretty!
IMO, the Nintendo switch ended up being the WII part 2 we actually needed. Do wish the joycons were better tho...
God damn your setup is stunning
Love the Maximillian clip lol
hold on to your switch. the best is yet to come for at least the next two years.
Probably never, since I have a giant library of indie games to play too
5:20 ZOE MENTIONED NUMERO UNOOOOO WOOOO!!! Also yeah I put a bajillion hours into my island and it still looks bad :(
I don’t have that creative blood in me fr
I am very happy I forgot about the switch until last month when I decided to pick up an TOTK Oled model on eBay for $150 with many accessories. A very good deal mostly that the cost of Modchips are $10-$13.
Your setup is so beautiful.
