we used a 3 gallon weed sprayer with a kitchen sprayer attached to it... worked awesome for doing dishes at camp.... minus the whole filtration piece which is a big deal when potable water isnt handy
Mine as well as my 3 other buddies who got them all have the same problem of it leaking around the nozzle when completely full and stored under pressure. If not filled all the way to the top and not pressurized before storing, no problem at all. Awesome piece of gear
Looks like a great water solution. I was considering it for a bit. But I ended up going with the Survivor Filter electric model. The idea of being able to set it up, turn it on, and then walk away and do something else was appealing.
I'm really glad to see this review video, because I'm thinking of buying this lifesaver jerry can. Looking forward to more overlanding videos! Thanks David Canterbury!
I looked at the water can filter system in past but didn't see the filter life only the carbon filter one listed. So thanks for the correct life on it, so now I'll be checking on one again Nice JT too, mine has been great step up on mpg vs my LJ.
The life saver is a great bit of kit, I have the 20'000 litre version here in the UK. Not cheap, but well worth the investment, very versatile and you can't put a price on clean safe water.
What do you think of the Sawyer Mini filters? About 20 bucks and can filter up to 100K gallons (that's because it can be back washed). Small, lightweight, takes up no room and packs away easily. And no moving parts other than the backwash syringe plunger. In my opinion, an under rated prepper item. Great backup to these cans
love you and you’re methodical mindset and approach Dave, but truly appreciate the reserved way you say “overlanding” 😂I hate that term! Looking to build a gladiator, from an old boy from Harlan county Ky. Keep up the fine work and the free to wandering mountain mindset ….
Dave, I read somewhere that copper containers can sterilize/purify water if you leave the water in the container overnight and that copper kills bacteria. I'm thinking about purchasing some copper jars/jugs/bottles to store water in and to carry when I'm out hiking and/or camping.
Got my second package from SRO today. Loving the new traps and groundhog tool! That vehicle is a niagara of badassery. You’re awesome, sir. Taking inspiration and I appreciate the help/info!
Very nice set up Dave. This will be a good watch .I like the jerry can filter concept but thats a lot of green to throw down for some folks. The capacity or duration of the filter life Is impressive.
Around where I travel it's chemicals and heavy metals I'm concerned about. Probably best purchasing a good water testing kit too. I have one for testing my tap water from time to time.
Good stuff Dave, nice to see a Gladiator with mud on it,every one I've seen is cleaner than a show car and will never see dirt. While not cheap I don't think $300 is too bad a price for something with this capacity.JMO.
Love that can/filter, but a bit rich for my blood at the moment. Got it saved for later, when i can afford to upgrade. its a great piece of kit, but out of reach at the moment.
As the drone flies over head I have a feeling if you can run with Gladiator Jeep your probably not worrying about muzzleloading your H&R single shot shotgun to get by to survive! Fun and good stuff though.
@@DavidCanterbury even a small modest home can be considered as a man's castle happy to hear that your moved back into the main house. Thank you for the videos you put out for us and look forward to the next one.
Once you've repeatedly filled and used the can, how do you clean it? I'm guessing that the water you use on the go would be from questionable sources, so how do you decontaminate the can and can you back flush the filter?
@Dave Canterbury Appreciate your expert knowledge and that you offer it free on your channel. As a long term Jeep junkie, own a YJ , LJ & WJ .... serious question are you concerned that the power plant for that "truck" is under powered for an adequate overland load?
$300 + Tax Wow that will place it out of price range for a percentage of people. I would want a 2nd cap/nozzle on hand just incase as you said that's the "moving" part.
Minuses. Water cannot be stored in the can or the filter will go bad. Watwr must be routinely changed out or your lose a really expensice filter. Please confirm this with Lifesaver
HE'S BACK BABY!!!
Man that thing is cool. First I've heard of it
Thanks Dave

Enjoying the Gladiator build!
The price seems expensive until you consider how much water it will filter. Well worth the money for back country trips.
This water system looks like very good gear. Thanks!

Thanks Dave! Love the new jeep!

I have a few of the Sawyer and a few lifestraws. Always have a backup

See your definitely putting that Jeep to work .,
I dont buy anything to treat it easy, everything is a tool to me-

Happy birthday, excellent resource !!!
Thanks for the tip. Got one yesterday.
Always good to have another means of having potable water, especially mobile.
Thanks Dave. Going up to work on developing spring on gtfo property end of the month. Got assemble out house too.

_thats pretty handy. You know you can trust UK made stuff. It's basically a size up lifestraw_
Looks like a pretty cool water can. 👍
That is cool. thanks.
I got to get one of those... Your looking really Dave looks like your putting on a little wait lol looks good... Thanks for the video...
Great demo and info, Thanks Dave!
The listing shows 20,000 liters/ 5282 gallons. Definitely a great option though
Your right I took the stats off the combo 2 filter pack it in fact half as you say-
Around where I travel it's chemicals and heavy metals I'm concerned about. Probably best purchasing a good water testing kit too. I have one for testing my tap water from time to time.
She's a beauty ❤️ Congrats. You earned it well brother
It better be for a 100k Jeep by the time it's done.
Id need to find one in canada. Im interested. I have an off grid log cabin that it would be useful in.
Nice water can.
Great video
Expensive yes but there is a lot of bang for your buck there. Nice overview of the product for sure.

It's cool how to see how your making it your own. I like the Gladiator.
Want a camp shower? Get a "road shower"!

I love traditional and old school stuff as well
Sold! Dave, you could sell ice to the eskimos. :)
May we get an update on the new castle you're building?
No castle very small modest home, Deck and Sun Room are being completed as we speak, moved into the main house prior to TG, thank you

Grande Dave!!!

It just needs the canoe strapped on top
For Sure
That is awesome,Where can I get it,I do have a berkley big Bertha in home for home could travel but pain to do that
Pump it up enough that you can spray that jeep off. Lol
I see all you guys wearing these woodland camo jackets , i am wondering where i can get one ?????
The one he's wearing is from perseverancesurvival.com/
Cool..
Shoot, buy one of those and a bunch of replacement filters and your set for water! WAY cheaper option than the Berkey
I usually like what you review Dave, but $300 for a water can with a filter inside is a little too steep for me. Still a big fan, Thx
How much!?!
U need to rub some mud on that water jug for it to really match the truck!!!😂🤣😂🤣
Wait a minute I know you from dual survival I knew I saw you somewhere before
👍
❤❤❤❤❤
very cool the only thing you missed was a price
I like that
Nice
I see all you guys wearing these woodland camouflage jackets and I am wondering where I can get one
I found one from President valance survival and from fox trot one I got both I’m going to compare them when I get them
Perseverance Survival, I believe.
I’d love to have one but it’s out of reach for now . Priced them right after you mentioned it in one of the first videos. Cool system though
bring it to the bantam jeep outing in butler pa check it out all kinds to do and venders for youre jeep
I have a Navigation Intensive course that weekend, maybe in a few years I will retire!
😍🥰🤗

How much is top? 3900 omg
💪👀👂👍👍
HOW DO YOU COUNT 10,00 GALLONS..IMPOSSIBLE SO I SUPPOSE THE RULE OF THUMB IS TO JUST GET A NEW FILTER AFTER 10 YEARS?
Calling it a Bear trap.
Dude someone was watching you with a drone or somethin.......
You're gonna be doing a helluva lot of pumping trying to shower out of that thing lol. That's really not gonna happen in any practical sense.
pump it up some then put it on the roof so you're not having to fight head pressure, You'll appreciate the better water pressure/flow.
👍
