I repurposed a M416 trailer to do the same thing. I included a hot water and shower system with 30 gallon water tank and a free hanging changing tent and travel toilet. All for my wife of course. I also run a Tuff Stuff Ranger RTT and awning. Love to Overland and with my 2 door Wrangler I can get further off road than most over RTT people.
I really like your set up and it was great seeing everything up close and personal in Tennessee at SMKW. You and Shawn are just as genuine in person as you seem on camera. Hope those patches and challenge coin made it back to Ohio safe with you and soon find a home in your collection!
Hi Dave. Thanks for taking a minute to chat with me in passing at the gas station today. I'm definitely digging the Gladiator series. Keep on keeping on.
Nice addition to your Jeep Dave Canterbury,I really like the new trailer and it awesome features. Plus it just looks cool as heck. The Smitty built is nice
I purchased a roof-top tent to go on my Prado, but use of and especially packing it up, was a pain in the butt for several reasons.. So I made a frame to mount it on my existing trailer and that has been much more useable, plus it means that the trailer can be used with other vehciles, such as my 4x4 Sprinter and this gives me beds for another 2 people as well as the traier space to store lots of supplies.
Your Gladiator build series in conjunction with your Ham radio vids are on par with the Journal of the Yurt videos, which is one of my favorite series. Thanks Dave and God bless.
The one thing I did notice from the video that I have and truely like the Petromax coffee pot (Perkomax-that is best perk coffee pot on the market in my book). I ordered me another one the Lehmans but it has been 4 or 5 months now. Jeep builds are fun and expensive-done it couple times myself but on a smaller scale. Hope you get use it alot.
Yeah... more and more, a roof-top tent makes more sense on top of the trailer... "Base Camp". Hammock rig with the truck, and your 10 C's with you as you scout on the hoof.
It's amusing to me how you are taking a beating over this more expensive equipment not being "common man"...like you are obligated to that idea alone. You are pretty gracious in your responses. Well done! I like seeing the new and cool stuff.
I think it is my obligation to show all types of equipment even though everyone can necessarily afford it now it doesn’t mean some can’t or they won’t be able to in the future. If I don’t do it when I can afford to I feel I am doing my channel which has always varied in content a dis service
I have two friends that started off with a gladiator and ended up with a power wagon… And two friends that started off with a power wagon and ended up with a gladiator. In both cases, they were not yet aware of what they wanted to do until they got a taste of what could be done.
Dave a scrap of PVC pipe capped on 1 end .... Slide it over the parking brake handle on the trailer.. it will keep grit and debris out of pushbutton...
Still happy with the trailer a year in? Been thinking about one of these myself. Did you build yours or have it built? How dry is it? Would you buy it again?
Dave, if I owned that vehicle, I would have a hard time convincing myself that it would be okay to leave that loadout of very expensive gear, the stuff in the truck is what I'm referring to, parked on a city street ( and I don't live in a city that is notably crime ridden as some Donkey run cities are) because of the fear of theft. Do you drive other vehicles when you go "in town" or do you empty out the Gladiator between adventures so the valuables aren't there to tempt crooks? Or do you just have good insurance?, and BTW that was a serious question.
Keeping the Kamper in a lowered position reduces the risk of roll over in situations where you have heavy storm bands coming out of the gulf coast. The lower the top, the less the risk of being knocked around in gusty weather. I love the setup of your rig.
Dave, this is off subject, but just wondered what happened to the cross necklace u wore for so long..also u mentioned it was multi purpose..can u elaborate? Thanks, and keep up the great work!
Dave I want to start a bushcraft school but need help chould you help me. I have all your books and so many old bushcraft and survival manuals for the army is this a good starting point?
Perhaps you can do what Shawn Kelly did and become an instructor with school, and then see if you want to branch out on your own later. I really can’t speak for Dave on this, but he does offer an Instructor pipeline for people to follow; besides Shawn, there are several other Pathfinder School Instructors who are doing what you’re asking about.
I remember the times when Dave was going camping with nothing more than a small bag. Now he is literally carrying the kitchen sink with him. Guess he figured out (correctly) that the backpackers are in general a poor crowd so marketing to mall adventurers, sorry overlanders, is much more profitable :)
Wow, my concern, like others is the cost of all of this gear, My guess is that you have in the neighborhood of $200,000 invested. Now Dave, that's OK because you can afford it, but 99% of us can't afford nearly any of the stuff. There must be a reason for all of this beyond hunting and fishing. If it is "doomsday" or SHTF, OK , but if that happens you had better have someplace a whole lot more remote than southeastern Ohio to hide in. Just saying. Oh, to change the subject and ask a question; I've been trying To order your "path finder TRADE knife" for quite some time. I am on the waiting list and wonder when or if you intend to make any more, any time soon. This item is The last major purchase to round out my personal prep kit. This knife is the perfect heavy duty knife I need for self reliance. Can you give me an idea of when or if you will make more? Can I special order one instead of waiting for ever? I don't mind paying a premium for a special order. Thanks Great and informative video, as always. ;-)
It has nothing to do with that, I spoke to gentlemen at SMKW this weekend looking over my display for DIY ideas for his Ambulance conversion, there is always something to be gleaned and there are plenty of folks who can afford some of the peripheral items I discuss tailoring then for their use.
Hi Dave how much articulation do you get on that ball hitch over here uk off road hitch is a ring so you could turn the trailer 360 over and it won't come off ?

Waddya got there David. $80-90-100 grand worth of camping equipment? I've priced Jeep Gladiators in my area & they start at over $50,000 for a bare bones model, now add all the comfort gear stuffed in the bed & trailer... man-o-man we're talking big bucks. Not exactly common man kind of camping.
You have work very hard for years , there should be no one complaining because you have some toys. Love to watch your success.

Hard shell tent is the way to go. I just sold my smittybilt- it was good but hardshells are so much better. Great choice, Dave!
Dave…love this series! Everything is well thought out and changes as necessary. M6 Scout…really like that firearm!

Hey Dave thanks for showing your jeep !
Dave would love it if you could do more on your 21st Century Long Hunter.
That's a sweet set up yall have . thanks for the 🎥

Nice setup on that Jeep! 👍🏻🇺🇸
Badass setup man
Dave consider reaching out to Snap Outfitters in PA. Wedge tent canopy camper.
Dave, have you looked at the bugout roll from Canadian preper?
It would be a great addition
Are the fenders wide enough to hang the kayak above them? The camera angle made it appear you could.
Do you still have and or use the Rokon Motor bike?
Any plans to incorporate that into your gladiator or trailer?
Like the trailer!

Dave, I love your video's amigo. But, can you get a wind cover for your microphone? ;-)
personally I would convert it to a Pintle Hitch if it was me. but I would be more off road.
Nice set up, but I didn't hear the price but I guess it's expensive, to much probably for some one on a budget

Yes
