A singer that is just an everyday "Joe" and not a prima donna. What a refreshing change.
that's why they made good songs
Lovely down to earth genuine man who knows his knowledge and happy to talk doesn't let fame go to his head
Much love and respect for Joe!! Here's a man who told Rick after the accident he never thought of replacing him, he's just glad he's alive!! ❤
One of the reasons I love this band!!
The Def Leppard sound is a Wall of Sound... No rock band touches them.Their production has always been next level. Rock On Joe!!
Joe, I am a 59-year-old, bald, African American, gay man, living in Michigan. DEF LEPPARD is my all-time favorite band. I simply love, love you guys. Best band on the planet. When I first heard PHOTOGRAPH on MTV, I was hooked. I got the huge DEF LEPPARD choke hold and I can’t free myself. You, guys, are a beast of a group. Joe, you are the epitome of cool. DEF LEPPARD isn’t just a band. You, guys, are a FAMILY. Your fans ( I am your biggest) adore all of you. We won’t have it any other way. Keep cranking out the hits, and we all will keep on rockin’! Thanks for all the great music and memories! Peace.
One of the most extremely likable lead singers ever, and don't forget he's a helluva motivator.
This is the man you want to help you get out of a dead end situation.
Plus he's funny as hell.
One of the biggest thrills of my life was getting to meet this dude in 2007 - such a sweetheart!
That Hysteria guitar is fantastic.
You have to love Joe Elliott and Def Leppard. They staid humble and never let fame get to their heads.
Props to Joe for remaining down to earth, forgoing plastic surgery and choosing to age naturally.
Oh thank GOD he didn't choose plastic surgery... that would be a total disaster
Just like jon bon jovi
@@allisonconley6339 It is a disaster he didn't choose plastic surgery, and this is coming from a Def Leppard!!
He looks like the inside of an old handbag/trans person!!
He has those gorgeous eyes. One thing that made me notice him.
The ironic thing is, he still looks like Joe from the 80s.
Saw Def Leppard For The First Time, Live On March 1983. They Were The Opening Act For Billy Squier What A Blast Wonderful Memories. Still A Fan of Billy Squier & Def Leppard Since 1981. Still Have All The Original Vinyl. All These Guy's Were & Are Great Musicians. Steve Clark Will Never Be Forgotten.
I saw them on that very same tour. Loved Billy Squier and became a huge fan of DL as well. Good times.
Same here. Saw Def Leppard open for Billy Squier, then saw them headline just a few months later, it was wild!
why do you capitalise every word?
@@oldmate86 Cause I Feel Like It! Have A Problem With That
@@Cary-kl6kw it’s pretty dumb.
What a really decent fella. I've been a fan since 1984 and love 'em to bits for 40 years.
Big respect, Joe!!!
Thanks for all your support
yep, I jumped on board from Hysteria as an 11 year old and never looked back. It inspired me to create my own band and was a major part of my musical influence. Still one of the best sounding albums of all time. My 8 year old son now sings the songs loud and proud in the car with me.
Hello Joe! I love the pink tips you've added to your hair! You're such a beautiful person, so real, down to earth!😊❤
Def and Mutt. The Stellar combination.
Met them all when I was a kid on the first night of the Hysteria album. All great lads!
I saw these at Southampton England just B4 they hit the big time, you can tell when something special is occurring!!
I`ve been a punk my whole life been lucky enough to meet this guy more than once total gentlemen and his speech at the rock n roll hall of fame was by far the best one ive ever seen, respect always top man top band...
Alex Lifeson's (Rush) speech is worth the time to watch if you haven't seen it. He basically gives the finger to the Hall of Fame without actually saying it given it took so long to get inducted. Totally unexpected and funny as heck!
i did see it sir nearly as funny as dee dee ramones speach ha ha ha@@mtbbiker6401
I’m not a huge Def Leppard fan but Joe is so humble considering all they’ve achieved. He’s also pretty tech savvy when it comes to this stuff.
I notice that generally among Brits VS Americans. More humble.
This was NOT always the case. He was a DICK after Hysteria to a lot of the others. He's matured and changed thankfully. A lot to learn from a guy like him.
Can't wait to see you guys hopefully again in 2024!!! It's been awhile!!! Miss you Joe!!! Say hey to the bandmembers!!!
Joe is an absolute legend. Him and his band have been through more drama than most bands will ever do, and they are still has strong as they were in the Pyromania days. Have admired Joe and how he still keeps his feet firmly on the ground.
I like your r- rex banner ,thanks for the tour Joe ❤💯🎵🎶
Def Leppard got me through my training in Coronado....U.S. Navy 85'-92'👍🇺🇲 Thanks guys!
Spent a couple of days in this room mid 90's helping out with whatever album was being made at the time. He's a fun guy and remember him always being in a good mood.
If u were there son, you'd remember exactly what was being worked on ... "Whatever" my arse ... I smell bullshit.
@@mickeymouse4897 Yup... I smell it too... smfh ...Nobody just "gets in there"
Yeah right , you don’t remember !! Smh
I worked for a Pro Tools reseller doing tech, they were using an early system along with a load of Adat tape machines, I was there long enough to check it was all working along with a colleague and then flew back to London. I ended up in studios often with big name artists all the time hence why I don’t remember what they were working on. No reason to lie
If you where there in 90 the album was "Hey! Hey! Rick! Where teh fuck is yar arm!"
What a genuinely nice guy
Awesome Vocalist Great Guy
That purple light on Joes hair at the start makes him look like somebodies nan 😂
I love the way Joe invested his money wisely and made the band financially independent from the label and fought for the digital rights to their music. As exemplified in this video, so much of the technology needed for a fantastic sounding album is easily obtainable for home studios and it only continues to become more and more economically viable for people/bands to setup their own studios. Now, getting the talent behind and in front of the equipment - that will always remain the challenge.
Your the very best and you will always remain my favorite singer since 1977 till ? ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Absolutely love how upfront and down to earth Joe is, and always been a fan of Def Leppard one of the best bands to ever come out of the UK
best wishes
Paul Jackson
Love old Def Leppard]. Pre Hysteria... High In Dry is one killer record!! \m/
I love how Joe is such a deep-rooted fan of music and rock history.
Yaaay, Joe!! You gotta Neve! Ronan certainly knows his shit! Best console ever! Flying Faders!! My partner worked for Neve (NYC) in the late 80’s, early 90’s. He even met Rupert Neve at an AES Awards Show! I’ve wired up and installed so many of these (8068, 8078, 8088 VR Series) in NYC. Back then, every studio bought one; the other being SSL (which also kept me very busy). You have ALL the great, old, analog outboard gear, and it looks like you’re using a U87. I love all your guitars! Can’t go wrong. Great engineer, great equipment = great sound. Of course, you and your mates have GREAT TALENT. Thanks for the tour! Thank you for all the music; it always puts a smile on my face! Rock of Ages, indeed! Cheers!!!😊❤🤘🎸🎶🍻🥃
Absolutely awesome an amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. Love everything about it. You are such a very talented musician 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶, singer an song writer. Just love ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ in you guy's.
Thanks brother. Icon 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
"we're not precious about "it's got to be live" it's like no... it's got to be good" 👍
Nothing Like an 8424
Rock on! ❤
It's a cool console ,but how easy would it be to service,if something goes amuck?
Very cool that Joe is comfortable enough to share this with all of his fans.
I love Joe Elliott and Def Leppard especially keeping Rick Allen as their drummer.😊
Yup. I liked them before, but that was when I really became a fan.
Not a massive Def Leppard fan, but saw them live and they were phenomenal. Really good show and fantastic musicians; I think Phil Collen has to be one of the most underrated guitar players around. He is absolutely superb. Joe Elliott also seems like a great bloke.
These guys are great live, going way back. With the way some of the album cuts are recorded, with everything plus the kitchen sink in the mix, you would think the live versions would be a let down. But nope, it's awesome.
How can you not be? They are one of the few bands with so many good songs, not just a couple here and there. Like most bands. I’m Arab and Def Leppard is so popular in Mideast and India.
My favourite band ever, as a kid in secondary school 1985 - 1990 I used to listen to them all the time in my bedroom full blast and getting shouted at by my parents to 'turn that rubbish off!'. And when I got the 'In the round in your face' vhs video I used to watch it every single morning before school. Still my favourite band. Dream came true when I seen them in concert in Newport, South Wales. Rock on Def Leppard.
Как я тебе завидую...мне на их концерт уже не попасть.😢
Got every album they've ever made and lost my voice squealing at concerts. *LOL* Love em.
I love honesty and dedication... Then throw in some Mutt and you have projection moving Forward 🙏
I set up a studio in my downstairs mainly for me but also take on projects. When I record I move the computer mouse, turn on the interface power and I'm ready to record. Nothing beats having a setup that go from off to recording in seconds!
My cousin is a HUGE fan of this band.
I think it's cool how very down to earth Joe Elliott is. Loved the music. Still do. Hysteria was a huge album. I grew up in the 80's and as far as rock n roll stadium bands were. These guys definitely stole the show. Steve Clark was a brilliant musician. Still missed. ❤
These guys were certainly a cut above the rest in that 80's massive reverb stadium rock genre.
If you wanna have a rock band, emulate these guys. This is how it's done.
this studio is only 1 mile from my home. howdy neighbour Joe
Amazing
😮😮😮
Where is this?
@@Mr2blue2stepaside, Dublin
Já pensou na chance de conhece lo? Why not? Excitante
Ronan is the man. I got to watch him mix Leppard every night on the coheadliner stadium tour last year and it was the best rock mix I’d ever heard.
Why are you saying this?
Folks….. this guy is all over TH-cam telling tales.
Some of this stories he tells are crazy.
Here is just a couple…..
He said he was with John Lennon when he got shot.
He said he co-wrote the black album with Metallica.
He claims to own all the rights to every Beatles album.
He said he would regularly let Freddie mercury smash his back door in.
It’s a compulsive liar
But it makes him feel good and most of all important, isn't that what counts?????@@Street-shitter
Stay positive guys lol.
Too bad their music has been shyte since Clark died. Fact.
I was on the first show in Miami and the sound was mediocre. Maybe he didn't catch the plane on time 😂
You can always tell a legit musician because they have a studio
Def Leppard have always been a cut above.
I remember seeing the band in Saratoga in 2016 (?), and watching Joe with just an acoustic in front of 15,000 people…. And thinking that he killed it. When you think of Def Leppard, you think of the whole band (at least I do) because they behave as a band. They present themselves as a band. There’s no “Star”. Impossible not to be impressed!
My producer lived close to Rupert in Kyle, Texas and we recorded at of the same studio as my favorite band Def Leppard and that studio was the #2 studio at Abbey Road in 2008 just days before Brian Wilson and his crew were there and our band was given the only t-shirts that were left from Wilson's crew an ugly green color, thanks Brian!
Joe is the ultimate studio nerd! He's also a nice guy. They say you should never meet your heroes, but refreshingly, he was just NORMAL. Chatty & didn't make me feel like he HAD to talk to this small-time rock jock.
Great studio Joe !! Absolutely Amazing 🎤🎸🥁🎸
I love the fact that Def leppard are so honest and northern UK sounding. Keep it real. 😎
After they made a couple of quid They didnt stay in the UK for very long though did they.....?
The 8424 is going for 30k... and they gots 2 of them. Very cool
HYSTERIA is still one of the greatest albums of all time for sound and production. It was the "CD" I used to impress everyone with on my Alpine sound system in my Xr3i back in the day 😉
I love Def Leopard. Now, I love Joe, too. 😊
I grew up through the. 80’s! I loved when a def leopard song came on! I turned their music so loud’ still do ! On hair nation! On the radio! ! Joe is so humble! Keep on rocking joe! Your music was so unbelievable rocking! Loved your ballets.
You are so great never stop listening to you fan for life
Saw DL High n Dry Tour; San Bernardino Swing standing room and bleachers in the back---- epiC!!
A genuine person , thanks for sharing this with us! During the 1980s, in my teens and discovering rock music, it was a breath of fresh air to hear a Rock Band that were, here in England! Sheffield, thank you for being so down to earth and inspiring
saw you guys as the opening act in 79 at the world series of rock in Cleveland think you were around 19 then
My wife and I caught them live in Vegas a couple years ago. We both came away saying how incredible they sounded. The mix was perfect. You could literally hear every ping of the ride cymbal and differentiate all notes. Hard to explain, but it was stellar.
Awesome video. What was great to see was what I think was a pair of Boss RCL10 comps. That was my very first comp back in the late 80s/90s.
Anyways Neve consoles are amazing.
Love Def Leppard since the beginning. They are full blown rock stars!!!! Love you Joe!!!
I saw Def Leppard in concert on their 30-year anniversary of their first live show, which was held in my city. 😊❤ Love then. You know it is live when they show they are just like any of us!
Love it.. My wife and I have a recording studio in a min pedal sim with amp cab sim's drum sims etc.. We are looking at a new house where we will build our studio. . Cheers 🍻 🥃🥃 🎸 🎵🎶🎶🎶
I've always been very impressed with AC DC's recordings. I didn't know that they recorded you guys and I've never cranked your records up like I've cranked AC DC's records up and when you do that they don't distort they just get loud and you can hear everything. now that I know that I'm going to have to crank you guys up and see if it will distort God bless you Elliott Rock on
We're all Blades aren't we joe. Amazing gaff mate. Def are one of Sheffields finest and Hysteria is one of greatest albums ever.
Pyromania is the album of a generation.. epic tracks. High n Dry equally important.
Gotta love the old rockers 😊
High N Dry was your best album.
Amazing studio. Very nice. -------- The introduction of the studio in this video is quite humble and fun. Unlike Manowar's intro, lol. Full of showing off and bragging.
That Neve desk is a beauty.
Love Joe and Def Leppard
Been a fan since 14 and am 37 this year and fell in love with the new album 😅 favourite song was kick. I love the fact hes from Sheffield, so close to home ❤ I loved it more when Supernatural the tv show used Def Leppard in the chevy impala 😅 my favourite old school Leppard songs have to be
Photograph ❤
Armageddon It ❤
Rock of ages ❤
Animal ❤
The humor in some songs is absolutely fabulous great job guys
First time I ever heard Rick Savage, Joe Elliott, Rick Allen, Phil Collen, and Vivian Campbell, I was hooked. They are still rocking. Love the 'home studio' which is amazing.
Amazing for a Leppard fan since the release of On Through the Night to finally see the famed Joes Garage. Thank you to the #1 Leppard "Mr. Joe" for sharing with us. I have always wanted to see this studiio where so much Def Leppard music was born. DSH was such a huge leap into the now I'm foaming at the mouth to hear what's next. Never thought I'd get to see the day when you would share this out. A Leppard fan dream come true. And Def Leppard mixes, live especially, can't be outdone. Love from 🇺🇸.
Calling it the singing room is the best.
Joe always comes across as a lovely, humble guy. I worked on some power supplies for a massive 1970s Neve console for a local studio here in Fremantle, Western Australia a few years back. Awesome sounding equipment and beautifully constructed.
Ugh that Hysteria guitar looks AMAZING!
I reallllly hope Def Leppard’s next studio album continues the sound they have on Diamond Star Halos. Holy shit I love that album!!
Analog technology. I was born and raised on it⚡🎶🎸🎤
Saw these guys in chesterfield before they made it big... They opened ther'e set with Rosalie by Thin Lizzy...I'm proud to have seen them beginning ther'e Amazing journey.✅🎶🎸
You are the local boys done well, we live in clowne, and are friends with Bev lister and steve.we went to Dublin with them when they unvieled Phil's statue... I loved Lizzy, and sobbed when we lost Philo, also Gary Moore...I tried to play like Gary, but soon realised that was never Gona happen.😆🤣✅✖️💕
Finally we see Joe's garage
Haha. "Gene Simmons likes me, and I like Gene Simmons." Perfect. First concert I saw was Pyromania in 1983. I remember them playing football with a giant balloon, and Joe Elliot ripping off his British flag shirt to unveil the Edmonton Oilers shirt underneath. Played it perfectly!
this is not a homestudio, its a studio inside a home. [edit] And i love it! ❤
More videos like these! This is great.
The studio has a really nice atmosphere. Looks like the kind of place you can get comfortable and cozy in all day.
Awesome, Def Leppard rocked man still have all my cd's . I'm getting old now still enjoy the music.
Hello Joe, Greetings from Edmonton, Alberta. Loved seeing Def Leppard along with Poison, Motley Crue, & Joan Jett. Wow, what a concert. Hope to see you & the boys again in the future. Take care & God Bless!
Hello. Thank you so much for this nice share. Great band, for sure
Def Leppard is a legends from an epic rock music era, there will be no more music like that. Best wishes to all of them and thanks for the video
the array of hairpieces on display on some of these o;ld school rock stars is startling, god bless em all!!!!
Have listened to these guys from the get go. One of the greatest bands of all time.
That is a great setup.
One of the best bands at explaining the band experience.
Joe still one of the greatest voice ever in rock music.... still rocking
Amazing set up - I just wish he still lived in Sheffield. Such a genuine guy - love you Joe ❤
You like def leppard? I do
Joe is a legend remember when i bought vault when i was 13
