Excellent video for a beautiful antenna. In my opinion the best overall antenna made by Televes. Been using and installing them for years. No regrets whatsoever.
I have this antenna in my Attic, but realized i should've put it outside on my J pole. I noticed the pre amp fluctuated with stations falling out due to the interference with all the duct systems and furnace. I also have a clear stream 2 Max which also works, but sometimes the signal drops out. Probably time to move the Televes out of the attic. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent review of this antenna which I have on order and your instructions on how to put it together was by far the best and I do mean the best of any other so called experts on TH-cam including Televes own video showing it being put together yours blows all of them away !When I get mine was suppose to be here today but fedex screwed up so in the next few days I hope !Anyways after watching your video it looks like it will be put together in 60 seconds as advertised! Great Job!
There are stations transmitting on VHF RF below 7, including a PBS station in the San Francisco Bay area, KRCB's excellent RF 22 that took almost $72 million from the FCC's auction to change to bad RF 5.
That’s the thing with Low-VHF: most antennas are not designed for receiving RF 2-6, unless you are relatively close to the broadcast signal or it is strong enough. Most Low-VHF stations are woefully underpowered anyway. And, this Televes model has a strict rejection of any signals outside its bandwidth. So RF 5 is a ‘no-go’ for this model. It’s too bad that the proceeds from the incentive auction weren’t really used to benefit viewers, in the case of many stations.
Thank you so much for this video, for real. I have been trying to study these outdoor type of antennas including Televes for a couple of weeks now and don't know what I would do without people like you providing this great educations... zero tech aptitude here. My three mysteries are this. 1, Will all Televes models work without a power source at all for that preamp and/or filter? 2, What about this "Low VHF" band problem... is the bigger Televes model the only model that really picks up those Low VHF bands? I have to put a new outdoor antenna on top of the middle of a roof, single family house and the owners made clear they don't want a power cable going through the attic for an outdoor antenna... concerned about fire risk. 3, Can two televisions be hooked up with two separate coax cables that are in two different parts of the house to that one Televes antenna without having to by a splitter of some type? Thank you for any response.
Hi there, thanks for visiting my channel and reaching out. 1. All the Televes antenna models with a built-in preamplifier will work without a separate power source. The voltage that powers the preamp is fed back through the coaxial cable. This is the standard way a preamp is powered. More information here: th-cam.com/video/tFPGJM7Kqaw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wTP5KSzZTh4t9PHD 2. Low-VHF TV channels are on the lowest part of the TV frequency band and therefore broadcast over longer signal wavelengths, thus they require antennas with longer elements to be received reliably, unless you are really, really close to the broadcast signal. Televes makes 2 models that have Low-VHF elements built in: models 148281 and 148383. I reviewed and tested the 148281 in the video below. th-cam.com/video/LHRuJ0S3d8U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yi_eprKoEGDxoQnM I plan to test and review the larger 148383 soon (I already bought it). Once again there is no separate power cord needed for a preamp, so put your customer's mind at ease, only coaxial cable should go to the roof. 3. More than one TV can be connected to the antenna via the preamp pwer supply. Televes power supplies have 2 outputs (for 2 antennas- you'll see this in the above video). It essential is a much better amplified splitter. You can also swap that out for an amplifier with more output if required. It will still power the preamp if needed. See the video below. th-cam.com/video/TX83X08sYNs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QYZJS1HHY4OVWvVD Hope this information helps, thanks again for watching.
Been following you since tv man collaboration.. great to see how you been growing... I have built the gray hoverman antenna and now im trying out different measurements and the results are interesting when i find the best results then i will share the bend measurements for my best model if thats ok.
After watching you and antenna man review this antenna I would like to say this is the best vhf uhf combination antenna on the market but I have to be careful the last time I said that about a antenna as you are aware my comments were banned from TH-cam for one day.what do you do with all these antennas you test do you send them back or do you sale them if so I would like to buy this one from you.
I pay for them with my own money. I don’t return any of them. If you want to buy one here’s an Amazon affiliate link I have you can use. I will make a small commission of of any sales through this link. amzn.to/3sns5bY
Channel 50 actually broadcasts on RF channel 34. 50 is a virtual display channel used on TV sets. Channel 62 broadcasts on RF channel 21. www.rabbitears.info/market.php Detroit is market number 12.
This antenna has a very strict out-of band rejection. It will only receive RF channels 7-36. I have two Low-VHF stations in my area (RF 2 and 4) and it will not pick them up at all, and they are easy to receive. If you must have those channels, consider an antenna made for Low-VHF channels 2-6. th-cam.com/video/QsSnM9X54zs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=43ulJel14ncvbf29 th-cam.com/video/uxl_KoThg7E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ove_U4LOfQaUH0QC th-cam.com/video/LHRuJ0S3d8U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mcic4o7N3mnkJFHS

Moving it outside is a great idea, should clear up all those issues. Thanks for the comments and for watching!

My location probably needs DAT BOSS Mix LR model. It's more expensive, but possibly the last antenna one would need to buy.

They are excellent antennas, especially with all the built-in features compared to the cost.
Did it get any signal from your channels 2 and 4?
I can with other antennas, but not this one. The bandwidth of it is very tight, only RF channels 7-36. Everything else is filtered out.
Detroit has channel 2 4 and 7 can't you be an exception to the rule
I'm not sure what you mean.
I have this antenna and I get 30 more channels then my neighbor does
