- At the height of the Second World War, Royal Enfield made a resilient 125cc motorcycle designed to be deployed behind enemy lines via parachutes and onboard the Horsa Glider to provide communications support along with acting as a quick mobility platform for the forward units of the Airborne Pegasus Regiment across key operations such as D-Day and Market Garden. Officially designated the ‘RE/WD 125’ it was more fondly recalled as ‘The Flying Flea’ by the men who rode it.

I am proud to have purchased a motorcycle with such a rich history. I just did my first 300 mile maintenance and I believe their motto is ingrained the bike to this day, Built Like A Gun.

For all the Negative comments abt just the paint job, R and D did the most amazing job of rolling out the new Meteor 350... it's the best of all and currently revolutionary.
even though i m RE fanatic..i must say RE is doing great job of fooling people by JUST giving new pain job.. JUST a NEW PAINT JOB... i wonder thats the only thing that goes in RnD center of them.. there is no upgrade what so ever in terms of specification..i am not one of those who are crying for FI or ABS but i one of those who are worrying abt build quality,fit and finish,rust issues large service cost and compared to that very small service interval,in each service you have to change some major part even though ridden smoothly and responsibly.. while there are many important aspects of a bike which needs to be addressed and corrected.. RE is simply putting all their energy into making a new story and a NEW PAINT JOB..JUST a paint job.. not done RE..not done at all

I wont expect more quality on a budget bike. I enjoyed my Bullet 350 UCE very much for its British legacy (luckily remains in it: Drum-brake, kickstart only, amp-meter, 19 rings wheel, pillion seat, tank badge, distinctive rear fender and taillight). To make it more the way I love, I sometimes put a slip-on fishtail or Brookland model exhaust pipes, a solo seater, wider/higher handlebar. And there you are... I got all the classic look I want on a new old school Royal Enfield. About all that new paint??? I guessed we all know that too
The 125cc Flying Flea was not designed by Royal enfield. It was a German design from the firm DKW. It was copied by Royal Enfield for a Dutch firm with a different engine. During the war when a lightweight motorcycle was needed for airborne troops this motorcycle was adapted for airborne use and renamed Flying Flea. This new classic resembles a flying flea with just its colour. It resembles the other heavier Enfiled motorcycles mutch more. These heavier motor cycles were also used by airborne troops. Although these were only transported by glider.

An impressive paint job can attract only the RE lovers because you are simply playing with their emotions and selling a Dinosaur to them. Its time that you should try to improve the quality as well if you truly want to stand out from the rest and call yourself a premium brand. INDIAN MOTORCYCLE SCENARIO IS CHANGING AND FAST. THE ONE AND ONLY REASON YOU EXIST IN BECAUSE OF YOUR CLASSIC MODEL SO WHY DON'T YOU IMPROVE IT AND PROVIDE A BETTER MACHINE OTHER THAN SIMPLY THINKING ABOUT YOUR PROFIT.

Maaan, any time I think about buying a Royal Enfield I see all these comments by Indian motorcyclists about their quality and longevity and I have second thoughts. If RE bikes were truly 'built like a gun' all these people would be singing their praises. If anyone would know about the build quality and longevity of a motorcycle it would be Indians.

We don't want spend money on newly painted RE... Make some improvement in features like fuel gauge, change the style of the bikes.. otherwise no one gonna spend their money on ur bikes.

Great story. And salute to all the soldiers across the globe. But, i only wish if RE today was half as good or intuitive or reliable, it would be great. Plagued by bad quality parts and arrogant service, RE today is not the same. Name is legendary but deeds are not. Hope they realise it soon..

Eicher Motors is manufacturing these bikes, yes I would call them bikes bcoz these are not real bullets which were proudly called the Royal Enfield Motorcycles. The quality of those real bullets was absolutely fantastic they were made to last forever. The original cast iron engines and right side gear shift with a neutral finder lever was really fucking awesome and ofcourse that legendary Thump for which people used to recognise this legend.. everything is gone now these bikes are nothing but cosmetics these look beautiful but actually they don't give you anything for which the original Royal Enfield Motorcycles were known for.
We say many things like there is no upgrade and old model engine bla bla bla..... But the real thing is these are the cleanest bike engines made out of world. Just check once how pure it is. At the end of the day we have to protect our environment. Every engine they made will live long in market for more than 20 years. And the life span of a RE engine is more than 30 years. So, what's is the use of making great bikes with many impurities.

Royal Enfield is living in the past glory. The quality of the present day machines is not worth mentioning. Your service network is very poor. Unworthy, incompetent mechanics do more than good to the vehicles given for service. I had a bitter experience with my TB350. It had an unusual ticking noise once the engine heated up and was with the ASC for more than a month. They are not able to identify the problem and every time I ask them they give a different answer which are 1) Tappet noise and replace tappet 2) Valve problem 3) Air hole in oil pump and after all these repairs and five visits to ASC in 90 days and spending more than 60 days in ASC the problem remains. Now they have come up with a new solution--- All BS4 engines will have this noise. RE is not bothered about after sales service as all their vehicles are selling like hot cakes.

I am a die hard fan of RE, our family has ridden RE bikes starting from 1970's. I own RE bikes. But this is way too much.
1) How is Flying Flea related to India?
2) Why are we commemorating something which is not connected to India?
History :
Parachute Regiment operated in II World War as Air borne Infantry of British Army. India contributed to World War II, many Indian soldiers contributed as British Indian Army - India's contribution was never recognized by the British Empire (www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-33105898). Then why are we commemorating Pegasus Regiment?
British cold not continue with their Legacy of Royal Enfield, Siddharth Lal did a magic turn around, but the magic seems to fails.RE needs to acknowledge its customers sentiment in India first. They are the reason for its success today.
650 cc has been launched in Europe first while India still awaits. Why such a treatment? we do assume there could be some clearance issue, but now another round of pricey limited edition does not make any sense.
In the past they came up with Dispatch Rider now Pegasus. Both these bikes have same spec as Classic 500
RE needs to first improve the Quality, Fit and Finish of its motor bikes. RE bikes needs to evolve now and stop living in the past.

I own a thunderbird since 2010.. today in went to yamunagar showroom to get my bike checked as i was having some leakage problem ..i asked for estimate expence the guy told me 5000 ...for what ..i asked ?? what you will do for 5000....he told me engine oil rs. 650..ok .. + we will change rubber rs. 600 ..ok + self problem and washing rs. 600 ok ...rest 3000 for what ??? He had no answer ...and also want me to leave the bike at showroow. For 2 days.. what you will do for 2 days with my bike ....i didnot expect this from you guys ....now i am thinking that one of the best selling bike started making fool of its coustomers....i came back ..now instead of reparing it ..i am thinking to give it to garbage guy .... #royalenfieldbike #royalenfield #bikewale #teambhp #bikeindiamagazine #coustomerservice
I don't think RE had done justice to the Pegasus as it was a light motorcycle they just added accosories to classic and voilà ... which sucks they are earning enough should have made 2500 collectors edition with same specifications and modern electronics it would have been sold i assure you that.

The thump which was produced by the original cast iron engines was something that royal Enfield had unique about and the right side gears and those old steel parts which were really good in quality...
These new bikes are just their copy bcoz these engines doesn't have anything unique anyone who can ride a simple bike can sit and ride these new royal enfields but you needed to be a real man to ride those real motorcycles which had absolutely unique engines... without original Royal Enfield engines these motorcycles are nothing but just duplicate copies of those legends. The original sound was really heavy like Dhhuggg Dhhuggg Dhhuggg Dhhuggg, but these new ones just sound like a Fart
What a waste..better buy RE 500CC classic and repaint it as u want...so in less than 2 lc u will get better than this...70k extra they r charging just for paint!! Wtf its insane

digusting model of royal enfield is 650.. ...who stupid waste his money on these stupid bikes!!!!.last time RE lauched a continental GT...both bikes look like splender...no creative mind setup...RE should make heavy engine on classic type model, rear mud gaurd should be more close with tyre and make more width of bike like v rod.
