The riffs starting at 1:41 and 3:32 are so amazing. This song is one of my favorites from Lamb of God, why do they never play this masterpiece live?😫I can’t be the only one that love these riffs
@@darry2355 Because they don't play this song live. Why? I have no idea. From all of their albums, this is the one song that really grabbed me when I first listened too it. It's just a beast of a song but alas, it would seem, we'll never get a live version.
Whats funny is when you hear it on record, It sounds fucking impossible, when you see him do it it looks doable, but then you try it on the kit and you're like "how the fuck...." lol. Practice practice practice.
I have to assume I had the same issues... I was like transcripting their songs on my guitar and struggling to get the way the were actually doin it. Because in every situation the finger scales were so fucked up that it wasn't looking logic. But at least I got it, it is complicated but they use lots of huge finger gaps bitween each frets for a few plans as well as lots of spam of E chord and stuffs on the 12th fret and around. The way they pinch their strings is special as well, they more or less try to put as much power into the downstroke than the upstroke. Usually it goes down roughly (even fast in some thrash for exemple) and up in a less agressive way. That's where the power of the guitars is coming from I guess. Amazing stuffs coming from that band for many years and many others to come. Love them ! (of course I talk as a guitarist but of course the other guys are totally amazing !)
Hardest part of the song for me is that signature Adler beat at about 2:10. He has used it in several songs. I don't know what to call it or even what the time signature is, but it's the same riff he used for the opening bars of "Embers," and it appears in this song at two different speeds. For the longest time, I was only able to do it if I played it fast. For some reason it kicked my ass when I tried to play it slow, like he does in this song. Go figure. I finally got it though. Now if I can only get that damned intro lol...
They both carry each other so well its unmatched there timing is perfectly matched ..brothers always play better together...love wille and Chris both killer rockers
Good choice. If you haven't already you should also check out Nicolas barker, ex dummu borgir and cradle of filth. Really creative cymbal work and fills!
The Adler bros play with so much discipline and they seem to be too humble. But you can clearly see Chris just one with the drums. i fuckin love them since 2003
+Arthur Kitchen dude randy has some of the best vocals metal has to offer, you should know this. you must think that black veil brides and blood on the dance floor are the best metal bands.
One of my favorite songs from lamb. It sounds like something chuck schuldiner would’ve written. The weird tempo and time changes with knotty weird notey riffs. Sounds like a death song from the symbolic era. Great job from Willie. Who I believe wrote this.
The stamina it takes to play this song gives my right wrist PTSD flashbacks of master of puppets. The weird time signature makes some of the riffs a little funky feeling when you're learning them. The string skips are brutal, you really gotta try to mute strings perfectly as you play. The groove is a little difficult to fall into but once you're there this song is an absolute joy to play, nearly as wonderful as just listening to it.
As far as the difficulty the ride is fast for nonblasters. If you haven't warmed up u start cramping BEFORE the end double kick. There's a lot of parts and sitting on the floor tom sections. I'm amazing at dkick so I can do the cut to the bone section but that could be challenging to nail. The ending dkick is fast if ur taking it easy but slower than speeding thru it which means u have to get in your leg muscles to be accurate. The ride snare work is fun but probably not very hard.
Can't understand how Chris counts it in in whole different tempo at the beginning and then they both start playing perfectly at the same time and in the same tempo :D anyway epic playing /,,/
I saw them play this weekend, here in South Africa, and they were amazing! Chris is an awesome person and drummer. But they taking a break for a while. So will see when they hit the road again.
man im with you . after years of dnb taking me over in 1998 ive recently been listening to all lamb of god i can , just such an impressive band . amazing riffs everytime !
Einstein once said; any obnoxious fool can make anything bigger, and more complicated. But, it takes a touch of genius to keep everything simple, basic, and true.
i named those drummers cos you said he's fast. going back to chris adler, mosh grooves, skunk beats and common fills in every song, wow! i'm impressed by his identity and originality! try listen to those who have something to say. gene hoglan is one of my favourite drummers. i started a Death cover band because of him. please don't tell me that i missed him because he is different and i am mainstream
first of all, there are not LOTS of people following this guy. He is just well known for his tribute to the band and the sexy licks he puts into songs. If you wanna say he doesnt do that, you probably know "Now you've got something to die for". I know a lot of drummers, but i dont think many would actually come up with those splash hits and that rythm... so if you dont think he is quite different in his play, then thats fine, but that is what everybody who likes his play thinks...
that's parenting done right!
those floor toms sound beastly!
+Adam Sjöberg Mapex Saturn 16"x16" and 18"x16"
+Adam Sjöberg Definitly. Seems liek at least an 18 inch. I mean the bigger one.
Raphael Brunner
As noted (and researched) it is an 18"
The riffs starting at 1:41 and 3:32 are so amazing. This song is one of my favorites from Lamb of God, why do they never play this masterpiece live?😫I can’t be the only one that love these riffs
It's too hard
I love playing along on guitar with this song! Fuckin rocks!
@@tydombeck7170 it truly is a fucking blast to play!
No, I love that song and that entire album. Willie is actually one of my favorite guitarists.
Clearly you're not the only one. Some of my favourite riffs of all time are from LOG.
The final breakdown has gotta be one of the hardest moments in metal history
I don't know why, but I enjoy listening to these songs without vocals.
+Kyle Reece To be honest, it sounds better when Randy isn't choking on vomit
HAHAHAHAHA Randy is actually one of my favorite vocalists
Exactly. Muscially they're more than capable, but in the vocals deparment... :S Thus I prefer Melodic Death to LOG.
it could be due the awesome drums and guitar!
Harsh vocals are not for everybody, probably one of the hardest things in metal to accept
the real lamb of god drummer..badass
The only drummer for the band!
Yea... Live they just DO NOT sound the same without Chris Adler. And that's a FACT.
If anyone is interested in what guitar is Willie playing - it's a Framus Diablo Pro
Chris Adler not human, he's a fucking machine
My favourite LOG song
Mine too! I don't know why there aren't videos of this song live :/

I love how wet those bass drums sound!
Great drummer and amazing guitar tone!
Climb the walls 'til nails bleed
Rip the hair, tear the seams
Break the glass
Head in hands
Bell tolls endlessly
No end in sight
Perfect tom sound! 0:45
O.O
Man, I've listened to this so for so many years now. Always gets my blood pumping.
Must compliment Willie, real tight playing
Whats funny is when you hear it on record, It sounds fucking impossible, when you see him do it it looks doable, but then you try it on the kit and you're like "how the fuck...." lol. Practice practice practice.
Fu Man-chu Ahahaha I was laughing quite a bit at that comment. Ahah I followed that same path too.
Can you do it now a year later?

And then once you learn it and try to learn another you realize this is by far one of the easiest songs they wrote

1:13 just blow my mind
27 second 16th note right handed.
That was possibly the nicest, most civilised TH-cam discussion the world has ever seen

IMO one of their best tracks. No filler, just killer.
Nicolas Villamil right 😢😢😢😢 on my bucket list
Not exactly the easiest song to play I'd imagine lol

Good choice. If you haven't already you should also check out Nicolas barker, ex dummu borgir and cradle of filth. Really creative cymbal work and fills!

Brothers of Destruction
Good ole Richmond boys tearing it up!

Two incredibly impressive musicians.
The Adler bros play with so much discipline and they seem to be too humble. But you can clearly see Chris just one with the drums. i fuckin love them since 2003

Am the only person doing the vocals? I cant be.
+Arthur Kitchen Randy Blythe is more famous and better at vocals than youll ever be.
+Arthur Kitchen "climb the walls till nails bleed. rip the hair, tear the seems. blood and glass, hand in hand. bell tolls endlessly, no end in sight"
***** you must not like metal. So your opinion doesnt matter.

No you're not the only person whose doing it Someone listening to it after almost 10 years is also doing it \m/
There's no way they never played this masterpiece Live
This song is disgustingly good. The riffs!
One of my favorite songs from lamb. It sounds like something chuck schuldiner would’ve written. The weird tempo and time changes with knotty weird notey riffs. Sounds like a death song from the symbolic era. Great job from Willie. Who I believe wrote this.
Willie is a master at creating grooves and riffs!
Such a fucking sick chorus riff

Chris Adler is an amazing drummer.
Einstein once said; any obnoxious fool can make anything bigger, and more complicated. But, it takes a touch of genius to keep everything simple, basic, and true.
Hell yeah! I love lamb of god, I do the solos and words in my mind to you guys jamming! I’m a great drummer, my fav band is lamb of god forever!
absolutely this song with out the words has a dime feel to it you never really notice it with the vocals
Man I'm in love with Chris drumming!
My inspiration as a drummer when I was 15
Chris splashes more than a magikarp, I do love them both though.
Magikarp was a waste of a Pokemon...
Best sounding danelectro I ever heard🤟

Favorite song (and it's fucking hard to choose one) but this song seems to always hit different than all the others.
they change subtly so many times, you can really tell they play a lot together
Ugh that heel toe technique 😍😍😍 just makes me MOIST every time I see it !!
