- Surprisingly, this is actually a pretty fun match-up. IG's clutch claw attack is really strong when you can pull it off. Unfortunate time, and I mis-input the clutch claw button (I hate that input combo). I'll come back to this.

Restarting the combo with a kinsect command is something I need to do. Dodging or backflipping to recover takes too long
I started like a week ago with mhw and I liked the kinsect^^ this was like the first thing I was looking up and learned it fast, because even me as a newbie knew that there has to be some animationcanceling^^ just press the mark button after a 3-4 hit combo, ezpz
It is thanks to this video that I was finally able to complete that nasty Sun & Moon optional quest. Fighting the metallic lovebirds at the same time was one hell of a fight.
yeah same here. Only way to do it is to quickly kill goldie so instead of a 1v2 it's 2 1v1s

@Nii Lantei Bright-Davies not sure, I don't have Iceborne yet... but it reminds me of the Jho "falling backwards" animation. It's good stuff.

Anjanath does that, so does ebony odogaron and glavenus. Lots of monsters do that if they have a state where some sort of fire or energy builds up in their mouth.

A question: partbreaker is there to break more easily the head since it is not a weak spot if not broken, right? Then, once it's wounded by the clutch claw AND broken, you can deal massive damage (and have almost 100% crit), correct?

The final boss is such a pain to farm and I have 3 weapons I wanna make from him, that’s 3 mantles and 6 plats that I’ll never get
Until you make a rapid sticky lbg or ice dbs and he becomes a joke
Use a sticky 2 build with the savage jho lbg and you’ll break the head easy

So you shoot the kinsect off to cancel the animations of long moves? Amazing, you definitely learn something new everyday.
Id always roll out to cancel those animations but seems this is way faster.
It also does damage and collects essence.

I do still prefer rolling over as i evade a lot of moves that way. This new playstyle sure is tough to adapt to as well. I think if you master all the moves a monster is making then this style gives max dps.

@@glaiveking2530 true, but this is probably still an essential tool to add to your move set especially when the monster is down to maximize damage.
So if you press O button to change it direction 3times and finish it with clutch claw attack instantly soften the part instead of doing it 2 times? :O
SoujiroHua yes because the claw itself also softens the monster part
It works with other parts too. If you press O 3 times while you're not on the head the monster won't change direction and the part will soften with just a triangle attack. It is more difficult on other parts tho, because if the monster doesn't change direction you'll be exposed for a long time. You could also soften a part just by attacking with O, but there's not a reason to do it
It does that plus enrage it quickly too

I love seeing skills like Slugger 3, Part Breaker 3, Rescucitate etc. being used now! adds a little depth to the fights. Love it :)
This strat actually may be able to work in the Rathalos/Rathian MR 125 quest since you’re able to kill Gold Rath in less than 10 mins.
Kinda awesome that the hunting horn had a faster time killing gold Rathian than the insect glaive

Isnt it because almost nobody uses the glaive, cuz the devs have put sloppy damage numbers for it.

I was wondering, how can you tell whether she'll follow up the double fireball with a tail flip or third fireball, or are you just taking a leap of faith and hoping it's not the fireball when you clutch onto her?
She always does a third fireball when not enraged, and a tail flip when enraged.

Very enjoyable video, your skill is truly amazing!! I am using IG also and this video is very helpful for me to improve myself. I can't help but notice that your affinity is 65% at the end: critical eye 7 gives 40%, 10% from augmentation, 5% from attack boost 4, the rest 10% comes from latent power, right?
Yu Huan also has weakness exploit so he has over 100%
how do you get those slash effects? i'm using a tyrannis glaive 1 and the blue sharpness bar of my insect glaive breaks after like 5 attacks...
The insect glaive looks like it works better than the great sword
Amazing run and great showing. A question if I may, why the part breaker? I'm assuming for the staggers?
A Blue Mind metal raths take like no damage when their parts are intact. Breaking the parts makes them take wayyyyyy more damage

Temporal Mantle can absorb impact while riding.
Hes not wearing temporal you d**b f**k. Gold rath can be easily mounted on head as long as he dont breathe fire he does tail swing mostly which is harder to mount if youre aiming for the tail. Unlike silver the other way around.

how do you get shadowcore ore for the handicraft charm?
Shadow or phantomcore? If phantom, I've gotten a few from killing velkhanas, might be from elder dragons

The rare ores need to be obtained from the Guiding Lands.

I didn't know you can actually cancel her third fireball by clutching it. Awesome, gotta try this!
Really smooth and overall clean gameplay. I just don't like the large amount the claw is used, but eh. Anything for the sake of speedrunning.
The devs for the monsters definitely want you using the claw like that though, especially after seeing that very specific animation for her double fire blast and tail sweep, they leave that angle for nothing but the claw, Blackveil has moves like that too, he spams his downwards AoE move and your perfectly safe clutching to his head there
@@DanielisAwesome52 I am well aware. Not mentioning that only other weapons would need it to avoid these attacks, IG has the aerial mobility. So the only real benefits are flinch-shots and tenderize. Where we could argue whether a 90 second timer for a mechanic half the weapons have to do twice is good or not. Weakness exploit was too strong, but this doesn't feel like a good compromise. Plus it's required for Sefi'jiva... I get it, but I don't like it.
How did the head become weakened after only one clutch claw weapon attack? IG takes two hits to wound it. Does turning the monster 3 times only make it one?
3 smacks with the claw itself and then the weapon attack creates the wound. It's a shortcut if trying to soften the head and you aren't aiming for wallbangs with rule restrictions
HOW the heck can your sharpness be that high with the shara insect glaive??!!!! I quit the game for months after I grinded so hard for it and the sharpness was so god damn dog poop that after a couple hits its on green
Handicraft and critical eye. Handicraft raises the sharpness to an extent, and critical eye raises your affinity (Affinity makes your weapon's sharpness deplete slower. I have the same problems).

So is element the best for IG BUT we do not go for things like water attack, fire attack, etc? In Silver Los you used water, though here I guess you didn't use element?
@@milayou Ok. But before, it was "Find the best raw option". Is that still the thing for IG OR is it build for crit, etc but use whatever element the monster is weak to?
@@markwinters9785 Gold Rath is weakest to thunder, but thunder hitzone values are generally bad, so raw is better against Thunder weak monsters for IG. Namielle's glaive is really good against water weak monsters however, which is why it is used for Silver Los.

Can someone explain why the buff duration is so long??
Rather than getting all 3 extract, he went for red and white only, because individually, the extracts can be replenish. But collecting all 3 wont refresh the buff

What makes you choose this Kinsect over the the typical pseudocath lineage?
Is it because with TA you rely less on cloud damage and dot from the kinsect and blunt will net you more KOs/openings than having the sever damage? And you opt for healing you that you don't have to waste time risking using a potion?
EveryDamnDay I remember him explaining somewhere before (I’m paraphrasing here) that it’s because Whispervesp has more stamina than Psuedocath and he sends out the bug during the tornado slash to cancel out recovery frames, giving him better damage uptime. The high kinsect stamina is necessary to keep that going, and the additional DPS from higher uptime more than makes up for the lack of blast procs.

how come when I use IG sharpness decrease fast
Masters Touch, from the Teo or Behemoth sets makes it so you don't loose Sharpnes when you land a critical hit. His build is 100% I believe, as long as he's hitting a weak spot. So there's no loss.
with masters touch and playing clean you can keep sharpness up. but the key part is playing clean. ive had the same build and play sloppy doing aerial attacks and hitting non weakspots by accident you can decrease sharpness really fast.

Im just curious, why not use the vaulting attacks? They always seemed to do good damage, but are they not good enough to use in a speedrun?
That attacks just add, like +200 more damage.
But it takes too much time, so the best way to attack in speedruns it's Y, Y, B, B or ∆, ∆, O , O

Is blast bug still the go to in MR?
It's still probably the best DPS overall, but IG is alot less limited in dps options now, thanks to elemental buffs. You can get away with most kinsects.
800+ in into insect glaive uses, playing like that still is impossible on regular play. Don't even try~
What are the buttons to clutch claw on glaive while it’s unsheathed? I still haven’t figured it out
Assuming PS4, click the Right stick in to change to clutch claw. You can also do a clutch claw attack from the air with L2.
Hold L2 and press R3

What a hollow shell of what the weapon is capable of. Sad to see speed runs require no vaulting or use of the kinsect other than frame loss.
That's the fault of aerial moves being weak. Doesn't make this a poor display.

Looks nice but you could be way more fluid with the glaive, also you should utilize your kinsect rather than sending it out and calling it back. Sure get your buffs but as an ie. Blast damage if you utilize your kinsect as long as it gives off a damaging powder you can strike these and cause even more damage. When a monster goes down I immediately send mine out to attack the area I'm after and I gain that damage as well as what the glaive itself is putting out.
He actually played it optimal for a speedrun, sending his kinsect out would have lost him a couple seconds

Its the Ig from the final boss( Shara Ishvalda)
Don't know the name specifically but I believe its the Blunt/Blast Kinsect, the fastest one in the tree that is. Not sure if its the fully upgraded one or not but I assume that it is.
