I literally just watched all these videos because I told my best friend I'd "buy" her birthday cake for her. little does she know, I'm making it (and very excited to) :)
I wish I’d watched this before transferring my cake to a plate the other day, it was a harrowing moment but thankfully it worked out. Next time I’ll follow your tips. :)
How do you lift cakes that have piping on the bottom, like your knitted buttercream cake, for example? It seems like the spatula would disturb the pattern on the bottom row?
Hi there! I use the same method for cakes with piping on the bottom. I'll typically keep a little extra frosting just in case I need to touch up/re-pipe some areas but since the frosting is so set from the refrigerator I rarely have to do so.
I like the seamless look when putting it on a cake stand for my cake photography, but putting the cake on a larger cake board does make it much easier to transfer!

So fun!! I'm excited for you to make a special birthday cake for your friend and hope these videos are helpful!
I’m like a year late to this, but that is so sweet! I might borrow your idea and make a cake for my friend since I missed her birthday party
How did it turn out?! Curious to know I’m doing this for a small engagement!

This so helpful. I was so nervous on what to do and your video saved my life. 😅
Is there anything on the bottom of the cake while it’s resting on the turntable? Do you have links to buy this exact turn table?
Thank you this was very helpful 😊
